I don't think we were here long enough to adjust (that's what they would say) but my daughter adjusted in other schools just fine in one week. Overall I would recommend this school but just ensure you have excellent communication with your child on what happens at school.

Although that particular teacher is no longer with the organization, she is still in touch with my family--a testament to the caliber of people employed by Lake Cities. My son is now in the toddler program, and nearly 3. I've enjoyed watching him blossom under the loving tutelage of this school. We are incredibly satisfied with the staff and facilities. It is a smaller organization that can truly take an individualized approach with each child. I am grateful to have found such a wonderful program for my son.

Looking back on our experience, there is absolutely no question in my mind that the 2+ years we spent with St. Christopher's were the best for not only our boys (now 5- & 6-years old), but our whole family. From the smart, personable, and observant teachers, to the diverse (international!) feel of the community, to the bright & welcoming atmosphere created by Becky and the front desk staff, St. Christopher's truly raised the bar for our expectations of a school & faculty. Prior to finding St. Christopher's, our boys had attended both Montessori and non-Montessori schools in the White Rock Lake/Lake Highlands areas, and they've attended 3 other schools (1 Montessori, 1 public, and 1 private) in Dallas & Rowlett since. Being a part of so many different schools (not all of which were bad, by the way!) has taught us to appreciate the "small" things (hygiene!, front desk friendliness, student diversity, parental involvement) as well as the "big" things (safety/security, curriculum, communication, caring & nurturing atmosphere). St. Christopher's gave us all of those things and then some. As parents, we always felt welcome, and we rested assured knowing that our children were being exposed to cool neat things (languages, art, etc.) and ideas by people who cared about them & their respective development (our boys are pretty different from one another!). When my wife & I finally settled down in Rowlett (20 miles east of Dallas), our biggest regret was that we'd have to leave St. Christopher's - and even then, we made the daily 2-hour commute until we couldn't take it anymore. If you have the opportunity to send your kids here, I truly can't recommend it highly enough. It's the best, most nurturing and inspiring school we came across. My child suffered from a debilitating disease that made him allergic to almost every single food, and Mrs. K and her staff could not have been more accommodating. To say they went "above and beyond" would be an understatement. They provided my child with a "special" table that was just his and made a big deal about his "special" food to make him feel important and not like an outcast. They've been not only accommodating, but instrumental to his his health and well being as the level of care and compassion they've shown my son has been unparalleled. Not only that, but he has improved significantly in his education since the daycare he was in previously. He came home singing ZYX instead of ABC at three! The campus is clean, SO cute and fun, welcoming and warm. They have fantastic events involving friends and family. I feel so lucky that we found FI when we moved to richardson. It really is a gem. I could not say enough good things.

Being that we have multiple children ranging in age, we have had different experiences with childcare providers and by far WMA has exceeded our expectations. The front office staff and management greet us each morning and afternoon. Their greetings are genuine and full of sincerity which is very different from our previous experiences. We love the teachers at Woodbridge Montessori Academy! Our 12 month old is always so happy to see his teacher in the morning. He always leans toward her with outstretched arms and rests his head on her. He has so much love and trust in her. In the afternoons, he is always so cheerful too. When checking in on the online viewing system, the teachers are always interacting with them and everyone looks so engaged. It is clear that the teachers truly enjoy playing, communicating, and teaching the little ones. It's such a relief to know that we can trust the individuals we leave our children with daily and that our children are so happy. I have never seen him crying or upset on the camera or at pick up. I'm sure there are times throughout the day where he may cry, I'm by no means saying my child never cries while there, but he really does seem happy all the time. Our almost 4 year old loves her class too. She is in the Primary classroom. When dropping her off in the morning, I look around and notice the structure. There aren't 25 kids running around and screaming or crying. Since we drop off at or just after 8:00, which is when class time begins, the children have started their learning for the day and are focused on their current tasks. Sometimes, when we are a little early, the kids may be in another room while waiting for everyone else to arrive and instead of the children running wild, they are playing nicely with others or they are reading or singing with the teacher. The classwork that our child brings home does not only consist of coloring pages or blank sheets of paper with scribbling. Instead, the work brought home clearly illustrates what the children are working on in class whether it's related to patterns, measurement, science, or writing. While the teachers provide instruction and guidance, they are also very nurturing which makes me completely confident in our decision to attend Woodbridge Montessori Academy. The fact that our children are happy is the most important factor for us but there are other things we like which include: - Focus on education - Lunch Menu (vegetarian options, fresh fruit and veggies) - Online Viewing - Events (parent's night out, etc.) - Management's desire to receive feedback - Owner (Caring, Considerate, Genuine, Sincere, love love love her!) - Cleanliness - Infant Scheduling It is so very difficult to make the decision to change childcare centers because parents don't want to disrupt their child's daily activities and introduce too much change, but in our case this was the absolute best decision and we are so thankful that it was made. This operation does not compare to the other centers nearby.

I believe that some changes have been made regarding some of the complaints I see in these older reviews. Most importantly, our daughter loves the school. She is so excited to see her friends and teachers every day. I have never once had any concern that she was being mistreated in any way. When she was younger, we sent her to Bright Horizons daycare which was horrendous compared to NCMA. We get a daily paper report about our daughter's activities and interactions. I do appreciate that the teachers take the time to hand-write these notes everyday but I would prefer some sort of app to save paper and also see photos. The only other thing that I could possibly complain about is the playground for the younger children which, in my opinion, is a little too safe and could use something for the children to climb on and slide down. However, some may not see this as a bad thing. The school uses organic produce and milk (meat is conventional) and we were allowed to see the kitchen when touring the school. Also when touring the school, I was impressed that the director knew every child's name and greeted each warmly. During our tour, we were shown all of the classrooms and I was especially impressed with the infant room which was very quiet and quite different from most other daycares that I have toured with crying babies everywhere. I really liked that sleeping babies were given a quiet area to nap unlike a lot of other daycares where they are expected to sleep in noisy classrooms. Whenever I have had a question or concern, a meeting has been arranged with our daughter's teacher within 24 hours. Overall we are very pleased with NCMA and we are planning on enrolling our youngest soon.

When I brought this to the attention of the staff they were extremely uncooperative. I was advised by the teacher (Ms. Peace and Ms. Lupita) and the administrators (Heather/Caitlyn) they were under strict orders to not access any cameras and only the head of the school could see them. I reported this immediately to the head of the school/owner, Fahima Rouabah, she ignored my concerns and failed to investigate the matter. I received an email from Fahima Rouabah16 days after the incident only to advise me the camera footage had been erased. This was huge red flag for me considering they knew about my concerns on the day it occurred. They showed me an incident report but refused to provide me a copy. Additional concerns for me was the class ratios were completely unsafe - I walked in once to find one teacher with about 20 children. They mislead me to believe they offer organic food but this was untrue as they feed the children lucky charms and raisin bran for breakfast. The head of the school/owner Fahima Rouabah poorly managed this situation and was extremely unprofessional. There was no empathy, urgency or genuine concern for my child's safety. I have file a complaint with child protective services against this facility to look into my concerns and a complaint with the BBB as well regarding my concerns and to demand my tuition be reimbursed. Additionally, it is publicly known that the director's wife works in UX design; beyond this, the rationale for the recent urgency to redesign the school's website remains unclear.
