Urgent Care, Buckhead (Around 1:30 PM)…read more I don't know what kind of customer service training is happening at this location, but it clearly skipped the front desk. The woman working the counter acted like speaking was optional -- barely opened her mouth, just nodded or shook her head like we were playing charades. Not a greeting. Not a smile. Not even basic eye contact. The attitude was flat-out dismissive. Every question felt like an inconvenience. I've had better communication from a brick wall. For an urgent care facility -- where people are literally walking in because they need help -- this was the most unprofessional, nonchalant, and downright unfriendly experience I've ever had. If this is the first face patients see, no wonder people walk out. Absolutely horrible service from the front desk. Piedmont needs to fix this immediately.

In the past I have been to CVS and Walgreens where they performed the same check and never received a bill for more than $100. However, my bill at Piedmont Urgent Care was over $600 for this very simple visit. Next issue is that my husband had been in the previous day and had the same flu/covid check....his bill: $418. Yes, we have the same insurance.....so not sure how they do their billing here. Maybe throwing a dart at a pricing chart....but totally insane the price tag for this visit.

Northside Midtown Imaging - Entrance to garage is tricky to see. There is another entrance on the opposite side of the building on Spring Street.

This place is new within a year. New clean faculty and friendly staff! Carol was the first person I met on the phone and she was so nice in trying to get my doctor to fax over my orders which had not been done as promised, normal for my doctors office! Carol tried and tried and tried several times to get them to answer their phones to fax it over finally on the last try she was able to do that she has a great smile and beautifully a customer service attitude. And they pay for parking! The first I heard of! My technician was the best ! Not only did she was care about my comfort and also was very practical in what needed to be done. Her experience was very evident ! I don't think I've ever given a hospital/medical facility a four star much less a five star rating so this is a first! I hope it stays this way because I plan on returning and getting my scans done next year at the same location!

I've been aware of self-scheduling self-pay MRIs for a few years now, but this was the first time…read moreusing it. On the plus side, it was simple to use and easy to get a quick appointment. The scan itself produced good images and came with an accurate interpretation from a radiologist. But while I got the results that I needed, I don't think that this service is the right fit for everyone. It was super easy to schedule. They have an online scheduling form, and it was also easy to get a next day appointment (I don't think a lot of people are using the service). I paid a $50 deposit toward a $499 scan and paid the balance when I arrived. You can choose to pay an additional $100 to have an explanation attached. You get an official radiologist interpretation either way, so I assume that someone breaks down the medicalese for you. I didn't opt for that. The scan was about what I expected it to be. I do have some concerns about the MRI tech. From a customer service standpoint, she was not at all welcoming and did not introduce herself. The office was obviously set up to be customer service oriented, with a coffee bar and drink refrigerator and cups of chocolates. She didn't offer any of the amenities and even tried to hide the bowl of chocolate behind her counter. From a patient safety perspective, she also did not make any effort to go through the screening questions that determine whether it's safe for you to have the MRI or not. MRIs are safe from a radiation standpoint, but can be really dangerous because there are incredibly powerful magnets involved. In fact, there was a recent highly publicized case of someone being killed in an MRI scanner. I filled out an online questionnaire, but if I had not understood the questions, and made a mistake, she didn't make any efforts to clarify it. But she did the scan and the machine made all the expected cacophony that MRI machines make. She sent me away with a CD of the images and I had an official interpretation in my email box about four hours later. I also had my orthopedist cousin review the images and the interpretation. He felt that the images are adequate (so it's not a "stripped down" version of a real scan) and the interpretation was thorough. It did leave out a lot of the technique that I'm used to seeing (I'm also a physician, but not orthopedist), but I'm sure that most of you don't care about that anyway. So my feeling is that the walk in MRI definitely can have a useful place. If you're anxious to have an answer and it's impacting your decision-making (mine was whether I could safely continue to play soccer despite the pain), and you're willing to pay for it (in my case, if I'd waited for insurance to approve it, it'd have been next year anyway, and probably would have cost more if I hadn't met my deductible yet). As a physician, I would *not* personally recommend the total body scans that they offer for people with no symptoms of any abnormality.

Either way, he was polite. The tech, however was AWESOME! She was very knowledgeable about the process and calming in her explanations. She provided music in my headphones and gave me updates through the process. I made my appointment with a rep. versus online, however, it appears either would have been more than sufficient. The website was very clear in scheduling appointments. No surprises, no medicalese....simple and fast. They gave me the disc when I left and I got my results by around noon! I'd recommend to anyone who needs this service. To be clear, without the contrast, you may not be able to catch miniscule injuries, HOWEVER, I was super surprised that they were able to pick up mine. I feel empowered having this information. Without this....lol....I would have sworn my knee died and was taking the rest of my leg with it! Thank you First Look MRI, Chamblee....(PS. I appreciate the mug and candy you gave as a parting gift!)

He had referred me to a Piedmont Head and Neck surgeon. When my wife and I got there the Surgeon's staff had n referral on file nor any of my information. Given that my Primary Care Doctor, Cardiologist as well as my Urologist are all Piedmont doctors, I found it very curious that they had no information about why I was there, Needless to say, we left. I let Piedmont Cancer know about the snafu and they referred me to Piedmont ENT on Peachtree. Again, we got there and meet with a doctor who , again, had no idea why I was there. It was to have a surgical biopsy on my right lymphnoid. After the exam, he had referred my to Emory Winship Cancer Institute. Given all my doctors were Piedmont doctors, my experience with Piedmont Cancer Institute was extremely disappointing. To top it off, where they charge me $50.00 for a smoking eval, where they had asked the following questions: how long have I smoke and how may packs a day. Some eval!!! It may be convenient location but not worth the aggravation and time lost.
