I took my car to this shop after some locals recommended it to me. My engine was making interesting…read morenoises and was losing coolant and I wanted them to try to figure it out. They told me what they thought the issue was and that I shouldn't drive the vehicle. They told me that if I had the work done with them they would waive the diagnostic fee. They quoted me a price for the rebuild and told me 3 weeks. After receiving the parts, it took them 7 weeks and 2 days to get the car back to me. During this time, they decided to not waive the diagnosis fees and added extra fees without discussing them with me. I had to call them every week to get an update and they never updated the timeline. For reference during this time, my other vehicle had $10k worth of body damage repaired from a drunk driver hit and run in 3 weeks and they called me every week during the repair to let me know how things were going. After receiving the car, it sounded worse than before. They stated that my timing chain tensioner needed to be replaced (this was replaced 4000 miles ago) and that my vacuum reservoir was cracked. The vacuum reservoir was in fact fine, they had connected my vacuum hosing to a check valve backward. The "timing chain noise" was in fact an improperly torqued bolt from their engine rebuild. I called to request a partial refund due to improper work, as I had to pay another shop to figure out the improperly torqued bolt. They offered me a small partial refund and said that they would mail me a check. Well, it has been almost 6 weeks now and I have not received a check. It's very frustrating to pay over $2k for an engine rebuild minus parts and get this kind of service. I don't believe I would ever take my vehicle back to this ship which sadly renders the "warranty" they offer useless. Overall terrible experience.

On top of that I had to pay them $200.00 just to have them assess it. I called Jeremine at Car-life and had the car tolled to his shop. He called me in a day during the thanksgiving holiday to tell me the transmission service charge will be $700.00!!. I am so thankful to have a honest person in today's world. I KNOW I have left a review of this place before... but I suppose I'll write up another…read more I did not purchase my Volvo from this dealership because, although I was putting $10,000 in cash down and had about an 805 credit score, they refused to try to negotiate with me on the price AT ALL. Also, I was going to be charged for them picking up the color I wanted from another dealership. So I drove to Northern Va for a better deal and the exact car I wanted. So if I were rating the based on that - it would be a 2. But this is more for service since then. I do get all of my warranty work done on my Volvo here since it's closest to home. The service team is always very friendly - they've even given me another car for the day a time or two when I didn't have a shuttle to get me to work and needed to get in bc warranty repairs were being completed that would take several hours. I have no complaints - the warranty on my Volvo is great so far and all of the major work or upgrades I'd need have been covered as well as oil changes and windshield wipers. The dealership itself is nice and clean and the location is great right off Virginia Beach Blvd past Town Center and just before BMW.

Didn't tell me the price or anything for me to approve it. I did not consent to anything being done and then he expected me to take $245 to release the vehicle. I asked him for an itemized receipt and he couldn't even do that so he sat at his computer and typed up a receipt that still doesn't show an itemization of what was done. Was also telling me that the part for my car is on a national back order but at this point, I really don't believe anything that comes out of his mouth. He actually confessed to never calling me or giving me a price and still is not giving me my mom's vehicle. Wants me to pay money even though he never asked for approval and give me a price for the guy he had come out. Yeah no. This guy is terrible. If you get him upset or confront him he gets very loud and starts throwing his arms around. Watch out. The way he speaks to women and raises his voice should tell you everything you need to know about him.
