Kaerek Homes is the absolute worst company I've had the misfortune to work with! Jordan Kaerek advised that the lot was open and promised that he would hold onto the property while we spoke about a home build. This occurred on a Monday and I met with him to hammer out the particulars that Thursday. We were still in mid-negotiation when I received an email from him the next day that the lot was now sold and under contract. Kaerek never informed me that someone else was looking into the lot and never offered a right of first refusal to me. They lied to my face and completely broke their promise. I tried discussing the matter with Jordan on the phone and all he did was interrupt and talk over me. At the time I met with Jordan, the company was having a 65th anniversary party at their facility and he was more interested in getting to their barbeque than working on my home build. After two years of endless searching, my wife and I finally located the lot of our dreams and were crushed by this miserable company! Jordan and Kaerek Homes are absolute slime and I would implore anyone to fine another builder!

I was saddened to hear that there was a long backlog; wait list of at least two weeks due to the deep freeze:( I had called on a Friday and the next Monday I received a phone call from Fernando at Servpro stating that there was a cancellation and that they would be heading to my Aunts house! I think someone was looking down from above. I don't want to go on and on however these people are ANGELS in disguise. This was an extremely stressful situation considering we live in Cleveland and would not be able to get to her house for a week or so. Everyone there treated my Aunt with respect and showered her with support and truly cared about her and her situation. They came in an removed all damaged property and got her house dried out in no time and ready for reconstruction. Everyone on her team, in the office and all the managers/owners went above and beyond. If I ever was in this situation again (Praying never again) I would use this company hands down. North Shore Kitchen & Bath completed my kitchen project recently. It was not a complete kitchen…read moreremodel - I had my walls/cabinets painted, replaced the countertop/sink, and added a backsplash. I am mostly happy with the overall result of the project, and the cost was more affordable than other businesses with whom I discussed the project. However, I will say the process to get to the final result could have been much smoother. NSKB's communication was lacking. From the beginning of the process when I was working with the designer to pick out finishes, I would have to reach out myself whenever I wanted an update because I would go weeks (sometimes over a month) without getting any information. When I did reach out, I usually had to follow up multiple times before I finally got an email back. I was told a start date for my project, and then when I reached out with a question later the designer mentioned a different date. The change had not been run by me or communicated to me. Had I not reached out myself, I wouldn't have known until they showed up that morning to start. The painters had to come back multiple times for touch ups after finishing the initial job. They got paint on my under-cabinet lighting and hardware because they didn't tape around or remove them; they just painted around things. Paint was spilled on my floors and the NSKB team was able to clean it up a majority of the way, but there is a permanent spot that is darker than the rest of my floor. The team also lost two pieces from hinges and were not able to hang the last cabinet door. It took NSKB almost 2 months to come back and find a solution after I followed up with them multiple times. Overall, the project that was supposed to be completed in early December ended up taking until the end of January.

Borderline unethical company. They also schedule multiple tours for buyers who aren't even approved at the price points of the properties they're touring. It's a farce. They know exactly what they're doing, but what they fail to realize is that they're messing with people's lives. Really scummy. Really really scummy.

We first considered moving to the Milwaukee area two years ago now. Firefly was the first (and…read moreonly!) real estate company I reached out to, and I was matched with Carissa right away! She was so great at answering all of my initial questions, and understood our needs as first-time homebuyers. A few months later we had a chance to visit Milwaukee and meet Carissa in person. She understood that we did not have a destination yet but that Milwaukee was still a top contender and still took the time to go over how the process works, what the market is like in the area, and what to expect for the lending process. Over the next two years we kept in touch, signing up for MLS alerts along the way. From helping us find short term housing to coming along on closing day, I could not ask for more. When it came time to actually house-hunt, Carissa was super flexible with her and our schedule for looking at homes. She's so organized, thoughtful, and professional, but best of all she's so charismatic! We had provided a spreadsheet to her of the homes we were interested in and she secured showings for our top three all for one day. Carissa understood time was of the essence for us due to several outside factors, and made it all go so seamlessly. We knew we did not want to look at houses for weeks on end and had already been looking online and driving around a lot so we knew what to look for. That and the incredible insight Carissa has about the area made the entire process of starting over in a new place that much easier. She and I looked at the houses together and there were times I forgot she wasn't moving in with us haha. Carissa truly helps her clients picture the ins and outs of daily living in the homes and neighborhoods they visit. After doing the showings with Carissa she was able to easily schedule a revisit the next day so my spouse could also see it. The choice was easy and she helped us submit an offer that day! We had no idea what to expect for the homebuying process or what the timeline looked like; we'd only heard horror stories from friends and family and truly had begun to expect and plan for the worst. Carissa's communication in writing everything up with her and the lender, and guiding us through the contingencies, what to ask for, and what to be prepared for, was impeccable. We seriously could not have done it without her expertise and her support. She made us feel so capable and prepared despite us having no experience with this world. Not once did she make us feel like we were dummies or inept; I truly have learned so much because of her and have even more respect for what real estate agents do! She has continued to be there for our crazy questions and has made the transition into homeowners go so smoothly. Carissa came through for us, all the way to our closing day. Someone needed to hold our hands and tell us we were adults enough for this! After we completed the closing documents I asked her when she was moving in.
