Surprised she has such high reviews when she has an issue being an actual ethical person especially in her position. There was a review made how she has a problem with other women and I do believe this is accurate. When I called to ask what I could do regarding a potential lemon law case she stated "to leave her alone because she wasn't my attorney". That I "didn't have her on retainer." First off, let me start by saying hoe grateful I am that I chose PJL to represent me. I was rear ended in a car accident and the other driver had admitted fault. Then all of a sudden they stopped responding to their insurance ( which was GEICO) and all GEICO had to tell me after multiple phone calls was " Well if they don't respond to our letters and your calls we can't do anything but drop them from insurance AND you're responsible for your costs." I was recently involved in a car accident and like many Yelpers, turned to Yelp for lawyer recommendations. Susan was prompt in answering the phone when I called about my case and spent time on the phone with me discussing the process. She answered all my questions in a timely manner. I actually never ended up meeting Susan - all our correspondence was through e-mail which for me was better because the last thing I want to do is to have to go back and forth to an office. She ended up getting a good settlement and also helping me recover my deductible back! As a heads up, I would say it did take some time to get my settlement and deductible. My car accident happened in spring 2017 and was not settled until this past month, so it almost took close to a year for things to be settled. Auto accidents are frustrating, not just due to the collision itself, but the maze of the aftermath of dealing with insurance, potential litigation, paperwork, etc., while dealing with physical recovery, loss of work time, and out-of-service or total loss of vehicles. Though my driving record is impeccable (not even a speeding ticket!), as luck would have it, I have been in two accidents through no fault of mine. More frustrating is the fact that you might have to prove your innocence to show that you are not at fault, and be fairly compensated for your losses, as was the case for me in both instances. The first time I got into a car accident, it was a complicated one that I knew that I needed a legal counselor. Having had no experience with auto collision lawyers before, I Googled for lawyers around me, and called the first five that were listed. Susan was one that came up, and her office was actually the first to pick up immediately without having me leave a message. Her office staff took down my message, and within fifteen minutes, Susan called me back and spoke with me directly about my case. If there was any sign of the attention that a lawyer should dedicate to their client, this was it, from the get-go. I knew that Susan didn't just see me as another number, as some of the other lawyers who called me back later couldn't remember whom or why they were calling back, let alone recall my case from others. Susan and her team have successfully resolved two complex auto collision cases for me. I do not think I could have arrived at such satisfactory conclusions both times without their help. The first was a four-car collision in which I was the first car to be rear-ended on the freeway, causing a domino effect. The case was convoluted by the fact that the person in which my car was pushed into couldn't recall the facts of the case and kept changing the story. The situation was among the worst of the worst in terms of reliability of witness testimony, as it would have potentially put me at fault. I was so anxious and worried throughout the process, but Susan kept all the worries to a minimum as she would guide me through all the next steps. After Susan was able to resolve that case for me, it was a no-brainer to put my faith in her for my second case, in which an uninsured driver ran a stop sign and side-swiped me at an intersection and pushed me onto a residential property, then essentially "hit and ran" by pretending to be the passenger. For that case, all I had to worry about was just working on my physical recovery, and I knew Susan was working behind the scenes to get things right. Throughout both cases, Susan was updating me, step-by-step, so that by the second case, I knew I did not have to bug her for updates as she would only update me with new information as necessary, keeping communication to a constant, yet streamlined basis. Susan and her team did all the leg work, from connecting me to the right medical treatment, to making sure I was compensated for the loss of my vehicles, time away from work, medical treatments, and all other losses incurred in both cases. If there's anyone you need on your side in an auto accident, it's a dependable legal team. And I can confidently say that after these two cases, the folks at Premier Justice are the best at what they do to guide you through all the trouble! I had the worst experience with a 2018 Ford F-150. The truck had engine issues (would make rattling noises every morning when turning on or after sitting for a while). Back in October 2018, I was rear ended by a company pickup truck on the 105 East. Including the 2 of us, it was a 4 car accident (I hit the car in front of me after impact & that car hit the one in front of them). Besides the truck driver, we were all completely stopped so when the cops came it was pretty obvious who was at fault. Even though my car was totaled (just paid it off 3-4 months prior!!!) no one was seriously injured. My air bag did deploy but after I got out of the car I felt fine, but I didn't realize it was the adrenaline that was making me feel no pain. After getting home I just thought of sleeping it off, but many friends told me to at least get checked out and few told me to get a lawyer after seeing the damage. This was a first for me so I was hesitant but the next day the whiplash came in to full effect. That's when I decided I should heed my friends' advice. I started comparing lawyers around Pasadena and I decided on calling Susan because everyone's reviews were all positive & she also deals with the physical/car damage too on top of personal injury (apparently not a lot do both). I sent a Yelp message & she called me a little later at night. After talking I decided to have her as my retainer. Signed the paperwork via online & from there I was taken care of. She linked me up with a chiropractor to get checked out (ideally get checked out 72 hours after a car accident by your personal physician, Urgent Care, ER, chiropractor, etc - any accredited health professional). At least with this chiro (Kevin Cressey in Pasadena!) he told me I can come in whenever I wanted so I decided to go once a week (I've heard others push for 3x a week). Never felt pressured or uncomfortable with any his recommendations, like getting an MRI/CT scan (I got a concussion, spine was fine, neck was slightly off but recoverable). I ended up getting a PRB/PBR shot in my lower back from a pain specialist because I started to plateau in my treatments (for me it worked, it dramatically improved). I'm ok now but looking back I probably should've seen a physical therapist at least once too so I would recommend that as well (just advice from friends!). I also saw a neurologist about my concussion to learn more details. Even though I have health insurance (Kaiser) I decided to do treatments outside of it because I wanted the driver's company's insurance to pay for everything (they did everything on lien), but if you wanted to go that route through your own insurance I would not think it an issue. Just make sure to keep all paperwork and give it to Susan. In the end do what you feel is best for yourself! I just wanted to deal with as little as possible to be honest. I had Progressive at the time (they were wonderful) and Susan was in touch with them too. I made a claim with them so I could get a car rental & get money for my car faster instead of waiting for the other insurance. She let me know when they offered the money for my total and asked if I was good with it (I had a Nissan Altima '12, 180k~ miles, normal condition - one rim was missing & windshield had a big crack though lol) and I was good with it. More than I estimated! I also got my deductible back separately later too (if you're not at fault the other insurance/party can be liable pay you back your deductible) After 5-6 months by March 2019 I was good enough to finish treatments and Susan began the process of filing my personal injury claim. I would say 3-4 months later in July she came back with the 1st offer (I just wanted/expected them to pay for the treatments so I was genuinely shocked by the amount) but she asked if I wanted to counter offer & negotiate my treatment costs also - I of course agreed to it. Their second offer came a week later and Susan told me pretty much that's their final offer to accept and since my offer was significant there would be no discount for my treatments. I had no problem with it at all, it was more than I even imagined getting. It was all inclusive so after attorney fees & treatment costs I had a pretty nice net to stash. I feel lucky in trusting in Susan & that we were dealing with commercial insurance. Personally, I believe no one should expect to make a quick buck after an car accident - your health is top priority so you should aim to have that covered. Anything else on top is extra!
