Unfortunately, once my case began, serious organizational and communication issues emerged. Although the complaint itself was well written, it was filed with the wrong court and contained an incorrect address. I was never informed of this mistake and had to discover it on my own. Correcting the issue required a change of venue, which cost me significant time and money for an error that was not mine. Communication throughout the case was inconsistent. At times, staff were responsive and reassuring; at other times, follow-up emails went unanswered and seemed to fall through the cracks. When I informed the firm that the opposing party was making threatening communications, my concerns did not appear to be taken seriously. After deciding to retain new counsel, I was surprised by how aggressively this firm interacted with my new attorney during the transition. Even more concerning, when my case files were transferred, I was mistakenly sent documents belonging to a different client. This raised serious concerns about their internal controls and confidentiality practices. I was also charged approximately $600 for work the firm claimed had been completed but which was never included in the file transfer. When I requested a refund, I was told the work had been done and that I would need to absorb the cost, despite having to pay my new attorney to redo it. Overall, this firm's lack of organization and efficiency ended up costing me more time, money, and stress than necessary. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend shopping around for other firms, even if they are located outside the Pasadena area.

At the beginning, the consultation sounded professional and reassuring. However, as the case progressed, communication became increasingly frustrating. The original attorney and translator who first handled our case both left the firm within about a year, and the new team that took over seemed unfamiliar with the details of our situation and our expectations. We often felt we had to repeatedly explain the case from the beginning. One of our biggest concerns was billing transparency. We were surprised to see significant charges for tasks that appeared very basic, including researching public information, locating addresses, or searching online profiles. We understand legal work involves preparation behind the scenes, but many billable entries felt excessive relative to the actual progress of the case. Another frustrating issue was the lack of meaningful updates. Long periods would pass with little communication, while billing continued regularly. From a client perspective, it often felt like more effort was being spent generating billable hours than actively moving the case toward resolution. We also noticed a major difference between the level of attention given before signing the contract and the level of responsiveness afterward. Ironically, the detailed public response to our review felt more organized and thorough than much of the communication we experienced during representation. We understand litigation is difficult and no law firm can guarantee outcomes. This review reflects only our personal experience as clients. We simply hope future clients ask detailed questions about staffing continuity, billing practices, communication expectations, and case management before retaining this firm.

Mr Marsh was very pleasant in person and took the time to go through all my questions in regards to the matter we were discussing. In the meeting he advised that he also offers notary services (and deed recording) for an additional fee which is not covered by Met Life. We spoke further via email and Mr Marsh confirmed Met Life would cover all the document preparation fees and therefore he would begin drafting the documents. We set a date for meeting again when the documents would be finalized. I discovered that our bank offers free notary services - so I informed Mr Marsh that we would be using that (saving us $300) The next email I received from him was a note saying that he has decided that he will be unable to further assist us with our legal documents. I asked him to kindly provide some context as to why he is unable to assist us with this matter... to which I did receive a reply as of the time of writing this review. I'm open to giving Mr Marsh the benefit of the doubt and perhaps there was something about our situation that was complicated/prohibitive for him... but at no point prior to me saying we'd like to use our own notary did he allude to any issues. Additionally, at no point did he say that using him as a notary was mandatory and part of the overall package.

Recently, a family member suddenly passed away and didn't leave behind a will or a trust, so I'm stuck with the hassle of dealing with his estate. Needless to say, that gave me the motivation to get the ball rolling. I contacted ARAG Legal and informed them that I needed to find someone to draft up a will & trust. They sent me a list of attorneys in my area that they work with. The first one I called went to voicemail. Jack was next on my list. The Yelp reviews were good, so I called him next. We had a brief conversation over the phone and set up a day/time to meet. On our first meeting he asked me some questions and we discussed my intentions. He informed me that the Estate Planning Package also included a Durable Power of Attorney for financial matters, Nomination of Conservators, and a Health Care Power of Attorney. I was very happy to hear this because those were also on my "TO-DO" list. He told me everything would be ready in a few weeks, but it was actually completed earlier. When I went back to his office to sign all the documents, he took the time to go over each one and explained exactly what I was signing. Overall, the whole process was easy. Jack is very professional. He explained everything clearly and offered very good advice. He has a calm demeaner, which puts you at ease. I highly recommend getting a will and trust done, especially if your company offers a legal plan. Your family members will thank you for it. And, if Jack Marsh is on your list of options - call him first!

While I really appreciate the time taken to review my documentation and determine whether the firm could take my case, I felt the consultation itself could have been handled in a better way. When I joined the Zoom call, Maria greeted me warmly at first and was very nice. However, After she asked for more context about what was going on, her tone shifted and started to feel more like an interrogation rather than a supportive discussion. I did not feel heard, and some of the guidance provided felt inconsistent, which made it difficult to understand the next steps. At times, the communication came across as dismissive rather than collaborative. I also shared that I have a documented disability and had provided video evidence prior related to my situation, but was told there was not enough harm to move forward. I understand that attorneys must carefully evaluate risk and decide which cases they can take, but the way this was communicated did not feel supportive or clear. Additionally, I was surprised by the guidance I received regarding ongoing noise disturbances from a neighboring property, especially given that I've documented multiple reports and police involvement. The consultation did not reflect the clarity and consistency I was hoping for when discussing a serious and ongoing issue. I also found it notable that there was no offer to refer me to another attorney, which I have experienced as common practice in similar situations. At the end of our consult she told me "I wish you nothing but the best" but it felt disingenuous given the overall tone of the consultation. That said, I want to emphasize that the staff was excellent-professional, kind, and helpful throughout the process. My concerns are specifically with the consultation experience with the attorney. this consultation didn't meet my expectations That said, I'm actually grateful that she wasn't able to take my case. I would prefer to work with someone who can balance a thoughtful, objective evaluation with empathy and someone who communicates in a way that feels more supportive, without making me feel as though I've done something wrong.
