The have free wifi and a super fast connection which there is an extra charge. They have a standard buffet breakfast for £8.99. The breakfast was okay, it's not five star dining but it definitely fills the gap. The staff are just so lovely. They accommodated all of our requests made us feel comfortable whilst traveling with many children. Because it was the new year, we were treated to complimentary bottle of Prosecco and the children got treats and books. April is the manager at this location and she was brilliant. She was very warm and kind. To be honest, she made our stay feel as close to home as it could. I'm very appreciative of April and her staff's hard work! Excellent!

Located next to High Street we were able to walk to all the restaurants, bars and pubs. Which is always a plus!!! When booking online there are options to add a breakfast but I choose not to. We did try the breakfast twice during our stay and it was ok. There were the traditional British breakfast choices. Bacon, Sausage, Eggs, baked Beans, toast, mushrooms and tomato (which I'm a huge fan of). There was also yogurt, cereal and fruit which was a good addition. From all the breakfast choices, unlimited juices (orange, cranberry, grapefruit and apple) I was most excited about the automatic self serve coffee maker! This coffee maker was impressive and made espressos, americanos, cappuccinos, white coffees and lattes in one touch! This American definitely was not searching around town for a Starbucks because of this machine!

My husband and I had our Wedding Reception here in January of last year and were happy with the…read moreservice we got. Having married in St Lucia we were looking for somewhere reasonably cheap to have a reception for friends and family when we got back, this place was convenient and we got a good deal. When viewing the property the staff were really helpful in helping us choose the correct room for us - they have 4 conference rooms of different sizes: Small room can fill to capacity of 70 Medium to capacity of 100 Large to capacity of 150. Extra Large room to capacity of 250 All if the rooms have a bar located in them and they also provided us with a DJ - prices range from (if I remember correctly) £150 - £275. The DJ we had was excellent and so friendly. He really was all about us having a good night. We decided to go for our own catering which this is one of the very few hotels allow you to do and we were given entry to the room 45 minutes before are booking started in order to get the food set out. On top of this we also went for the Spa Bridal suite for the night which was £140. Although we were only in the room for about 9 and a half hours it was nice to be able to stumble back to the room once our guests had left and have a nice soak. Breakfast brought to our room was also included but wasn't too impressed with it to be honest - cooked sausage, egg, beans and toast with cornflakes and tea. Tasted a lot like the cheap Tesco Value stuff but it was ok. All rooms have the usual tea and coffee making facilities, colour satellite TV, hair dryer and broadband for a charge. A bar is also located in reception. Overall a fairly decent and friendly hotel for the purpose we wanted but don't think it will be a place for us to stay at otherwise though. 3 stars for the hotel 4 stars for the service we got

My husband and I stayed while we attended my sister in laws wedding so we have experiences with…read moreboth the hotel side of things and events. The hotel itself is kind of dingy and not very nice to look at. A number of guests drove right past the place because it is so hidden and covered in scaffolding (which we wasn't told about when we booked to stay the night, separate from the bridal booking of course). Inside isn't much better and is honestly like a maze with wonky floors. Talk about fun house effect! The rooms are pretty cramped too and the room we stayed in had both a double and a single bed with a small desk, there was next to no floor space. The bathroom however, was fairly big and had both a bath and shower. Well, a shower in the bath anyway. The bed was very comfortable but the room was so hot! As soon as we arrived at 2pm I opened both windows slightly to cool it down but waking up at 4am I felt like I was in the Bahamas, so hot and sweaty! There wasn't any need for both the duvet and sham on the beds. Room rates included breakfast and was typical mass produced cooked items (Bacon, Sausage, Eggs) and toast which was really just slightly warmed bread. Our Beans were cold, Croissant very oily and Orange Juice was actually a carton labelled 'Orange Mix'' they dilute with water. Other breakfast items are what they call 'buffet style' where you help yourself. There's cereal, Coffee and Tea. As for the wedding meal, it was marginally better than the rest of our stay. The manager in charge and overseeing the serving of food was very nice and friendly. meal wasn't all that great but again, it's mass produced. Meal included: - Starter of Tomato Soup. Taste a texture was more like Pumpkin and our table agree'd it was very buttery. - Roast Chicken. Our 'self serve' Roast Potatoes and Vegetables arrived 10 minutes before our individual plates of Chicken, Stuffing and Sausage so were cold by the time we got to serving them. Gravy also came 5 minutes after out Chicken. - Profiteroles. 2 of my 3 didn't have any cream filling in. Others on the table also said theirs didn't too. Weather they ran out of cream and thought we wouldn't notice or they get an outside company in I don't know. The 'Coke' they also served us was Pepsi (yuk) and flat as a pancake. One thing I was very impressed with the wedding meal and evening reception was the decoration they done in the room. It was very well laid out with plenty of spaces between tables and decorations themselves very pretty. The evening DJ, also supplied by the hotel was good. He kept the party going well into the night with a good mixture of both English and Indian music to keep both Bride and Grooms families happy. Not a place I would like stay at again but for the short time we were there is was ok. 2.5 stars overall I think

We were both really disappointed with our day, so we were only there for about an hour before making the 45 minute journey home! Admittedly we did get a voucher from Living Social so we shouldn't have expected much! All we got was a swimming pool that was pretty cold, a steam room and a sauna. I wouldn't class this as a spa! We tried to book treatments a week before to be told it was fully booked, and when we got there all treatment rooms were empty, and the staff were just wandering. The best bit of the day was the plate of pastries we got with our voucher, although we didn't get them with our drinks, and had to chase for them! The bar where we had our lunch was filled with wedding guests, and children darting around and rolling around the floor. Not somewhere I'd be returning!
