I begin with a caveat - this is the only Marriott near where I needed to be, and I was given a free 3 night stay using points. So can't complain that much, in the grand scheme of things.
You wouldn't pick this area to visit if you didn't need to be here, as it's just a quiet suburb in Kent. That's said, the hotel is well located - just a short walk from the central shopping and entertainment area. Parking is easy with numerous car parks close by.
The hotel itself is pretty basic. Nice enough, newly fitted, but nothing out of the ordinary. I was given a room on the first floor which was appointed well enough, adequate in size and clean as expected.
The thing that stuck out about this hotel was the events being held there. Locals seem to love this place for parties, weddings etc, and that makes it a little livelier at night. I liked that. The bar is fine for a drink or two, but not exactly a venue you'd rush to.
In all, 3 stars. Adequate. read more
