But the reason for the low star rating is because of the bed. The bed was so hard I couldn't sleep at all. Might as well have been sleeping on the floor it is so hard. The choice of soft or firm pillows is good to have too but the bed was a massive let down. The only one of us that got any sleep in he night was our little one and she was in a travel cot. Don't think I will be staying here again soon. It's a shame because everything else is nice.

Stayed here for 5 nights ! Love Holiday Inn in the states, but wow this place is not like that…read more Free wifi is a complete joke ! The rooms are tiny & overpriced, they don't seem to care & if you find 2 people splitting the desk & bar duties you're in luck you might get helped. The beds are hard & uncomfortable, the water tempature changes a lot throughout your shower, also not many food choices in their lounge (no Resturant) the premier inn across the road/freeway has the beefeater grill & the beacon bar, they are friendly & have many choices for food & drink. Don't stay here unless you are ok with suffering & being uncomfortable etc..we couldn't check out early since it was all pre-paid (that will NEVER happen again !! ) otherwise enjoy your time in England : ) there's a lot to do & not enough time to do it !

I decided to stay at this location due to the proximity to the O2 (a quick 20-25 minute bus ride!)…read moreand price compared to other hotels that were located closer to that area. I was healing from a broken fibula and dislocated foot (which resulted in surgery), and in a boot and on crutches at the time. Tulo (probably misspelled, I'm so sorry! Will edit if I locate the business card) checked me in and was very thorough in filling out the additional legal documentation related to my physical state that was required for my stay. It was nothing personal - just if I was physically able to get myself to safety/down stairs in the event of an emergency and any room/floor preference. Despite being in the boot, I was doing much better in my recovery and able-bodied, so a room on the 2nd floor was no problem. I was shown where the meeting point was in the event I did need additional assistance evacuating the building, and fire stairway. All of the staff were very considerate if they saw me hobbling into the reception area or down the hallway. I was asked multiple times if I was shown where the fire stairs were and if I needed any additional assistance. I thought it was really kind, excellent customer service! My biggest gripe was that the shower, which was the walk-in stall style. It needed a much longer curtain or some method of keeping the water in the shower to drain so the bathroom floor doesn't turn into a duck pond. I had to ask for extra towels to cleanup the floor, which were provided. It was just a bit of a hassle and concern given my weak-healing post-surgery leg/foot (I had to remove the boot and compression wraps to shower). Also, some of the tv stations had extremely poor/sporadic reception. Overall, the location was great and on the far end of the high street. Walkable to the train station, various bus stations, lots of shops, grocery stores, and pubs. The 161 Bus drops off at Powis St (Stop B), just over 400 feet to the west of the Travelodge entrance. The street is also well-lit and I had no issues upon my return from the O2.

They struggled to find rooms either here or at another property (after the disaster of a room, I'd have rather go to another hotel). I received my key after 30 mins, only to go to the room and find it occupied.... Um, thankfully they had the safety lock on or I'd have been entering someone else's space.... Can we say UNSAFE?? Another trek downstairs to be put into another room, one that smelled like it had not seen the light of day in a very long time. It was not clean, it was just awful. As this was the "very last room " I was offered another cookie.... WTF.... I don't want a cookie, I want the room that was booked and confirmed. I advised them they could rebook me in another hotel and could drive me there and pick me up in the morning so that I could join the group that all booked together, guess I'm stuck in a musty, carpet not clean, disaster to the Hilton name room. The voice on the outside that states there is video surveillance, yep, had the pleasure of listening to that every minute... that has to go!! The bathroom was far from clean and then to top it off... NO hot water! And that could be said for the entire hotel. I thought it was just my crappy accommodations, nope, my entire party on different floors all had the same experience. Um, it's freaking cold and I just wanted a hot shower! 18£ breakfast for absolutely nothing and the coffee was just acidicly gross.... Not a fan! Please get it together Hilton, as the taste in my mouth is very sour and I have been a member for a very long time! Zero recommend!
