I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here! I'm an American and when I travel internationally I typically…read moreexpect customer service to be rubbish because ya Americans are spoiled I guess. This place has AMAZING customer service. The people at the desk were friendly and helpful and had answers for all of my idiotic American questions like, "How do I turn the lights on in my room?" Yes, guys, lights work differently in American hotels. When I flip the switch, lights turn on, I don't need a lesson from Hogwarts to make my lights work. In the hotel, the bar, the restaurant, and the room service all serve the exact same food at the same prices with the exception of maybe one or two items. And it's all pretty good! Like surprisingly good! The one star I've deducted was because there wasn't a mini fridge in my room. There's a mini fridge in EVERY SINGLE American hotel room. When the hotel bar charges me five quid for a beer, the obvious answer is to go to Tesco and get a six pack for five pounds. But wait, where do I keep it cold? Other than the fridge this place is great!
Another one for the 'could do better' pile…read more One major challenge is not their fault - access is from Westbound A14, and travelling any other direction can be circuitous. Other things are unsatisfactory that are within their gift but are not done, for instance: - reading the Reservation details! - servicing the air conditioning (no air flow because of clogged inlet filter is an AVOIDABLE problem)

The restaurant has a mixed vibe between local tavern/hangout, and a casual dining section on both sides of the bar seating area. We hit the bar first since we arrived at 5:30pm and they don't serve food until closer to 6pm. The owner recommended a beer, and it was good. The Spanish Style Sea Bream appetizer was good, but not enough to share. I also had the lamb cooked on then stone and it was excellent! I also liked the grilled mixed vegetables and potato sides. I highly recommend this place.

Whaaa? Hotel Chocolat in Huntingdon? In the middle of the not particularly posh industrial estate off St Peters Road!? We had to turn the car around and investigate!! It turns out Huntingdon is the manufacturing base for the Hotel Chocolat folks, before they ship their choccies around the world! This isn't the classiest location for chocolate BUT it is an excellent factory shop with 5% off the regular chocolates. They also sell large bags of chocolate for £5 called 'lucky dips' which are all the chocolates that were not quite perfect enough to go into the gift boxes. To be honest, I am not sure what was not perfect about them...they were all loooovely. I bought a bag to give to my friend, and my dad bought another bag to give to my mum. Yay for excellent value, delicious chocolate in Huntingdon!
