We needed an overnight stop on our way to Kew Gardens and found this Premier Inn so close. The price was ridiculously low at £29 if I paid 'up front'. We had stayed many times in this companies hotels and have always found them to be exceptional but, £29, there has to be a drawback. OK, because of the coronavirus pandemic, the restaurant and bar wasn't open. That was expected so what was the hitch. We arrived and found immediately that coronavirus protocols were in place at reception. We were quickly given our keys to our room on the second floor. Corridors were sparkling clean. However, here comes the shock we thought. Opening the door we saw a massive room that had, obviously, been redecorated a short while ago. Big comfy bed, sofa, air-con, hair drier, free wi-fi, coffee/tea making and plenty of hanging space. The bathroom was immaculate with soap on the wall.
It was impressive for the price. Car parking had to be paid at £12 overnight. No complaints. As I said, no restaurant and bar but that wasn't a problem. Within 5 minutes walk was a great pub, The Watermans Arms, and four good restaurants ranging from Italian to Lebanese to Greek and then, Turkish.
A wonderful overnight, quiet, stay. Thank you. We were ready for a day at Kew Gardens. read more
