Erik recently performed an inspection for my upcoming purchase in Bergen County. It was an older house (early 1900s), but at the end of the inspection I felt comfortable that he'd done a thorough review of the interior and exterior of both the house and detached garage. He provided in-depth answers to all the questions we had. The inspection report was well-written and reflected the items we discussed during the inspection. I highly recommend Erik's services as a home inspector. read more

Erik went above and beyond the call of duty during the inspection he completed for us. He answered all of our questions before, during, and post-inspection. After we received the report, he walked us through the details and really helped us solidify our understanding of the problems and recommendations. He also helped us locate other great contractors in the area. My wife and I now feel like we have put together a team of great SMEs for the future. Go with Erik if you want a pro that will go the extra mile to help you. read more

Recommends that buyers be on location for inspection. Erik went through many of the details, the nuances of the property in the house, and it's inner workings, for which we are very grateful. We know exactly what should be addressed first after closing. read more

If you are looking for a thorough home inspection with a tremendously knowledgeable inspector, Erik is your guy! His pricing is fair and comparable to other inspection companies, but the level of service he provides is unmatched. I recently bought my first home where Erik had done the inspection - he was thorough, took his time, explained everything to us as he went along then at the end provided a summary of the issues and discussed how pressing the issues were. In only a matter of days we had a comprehensive report with details, pictures, recommendations - just incredible the level of service Erik provides. He was very fair in his assessment, as a number of things throughout the house exceeded life expectancy but still operable. He gave us tips on how to continue to extend the life expectancy and what to look for when something starts to fail. So far, everything that he called out has rang true and we have not had any surprise issues thus far - which is exactly what you want as a first time home buyer. read more

Erik is worth every penny. He's extremely knowledgeable and showed us all sorts of important details we needed to know about our new home. All the issues were clearly explained, documented, photographed, and he prepares a fabulous, detail-rich report for us to refer back to in the future. In my previous home purchase, he found a rare-for-our-part-of-the-country problem that was extremely serious -- the homeowners were hoping it would go unnoticed... this got us out of our deal and we found another home. Whew. read more

First of all, I was able to contact, schedule and have our inspection completed within a few days. Erik, the inspector and business owner, was both professional and personable. His inspection was thorough. During the inspection Erik took the time to explain each step of the process, and literally walked me through the inspection to show me his findings. He also offered his thoughts and insights on preventive maintenance and the few repairs that were needed. I would recommend Premier Home Inspection, and will work with them again if and when the need arises. read more

Erik and his company are the epitome of professionalism and thoroughness. I arrived for my home inspection 30 minutes early and to my surprise, Erik was already standing outside with his tools ready to go. He got right to work and checked every aspect of the home without skipping any steps or taking any shortcuts. Not once did he leave anything unexplained to me. I was able to take notes easily with the information he was providing me. I advised him I'd need the report sooner than later and he was understanding of that and told me he would expedite getting the results back to me. All in all, he was courtesy, professional, and expeditious with his reports. Highly recommened! read more

As first time home buyers we thought Erik was great. We liked how he taught us a few little things during his inspection and was very reasonably priced and was great at communicating. The PDF he provided with the inspection was great and well appreciated as well. That being said, now that we've been in the house for a few months we believe he really didn't do as great of a job as we had hoped and we wished we had chose another inspector, even if that meant paying twice as much and waiting twice as long for an appointment. There were a number of things (too many to include in depth here) that in hindsight seem completely obvious and we wished they had been pointed out by Erik. None of which were hidden or obscured from view at the time of the inspection. We were simply too naive and overwhelmed to notice them ourselves at the time. This includes mold, sagging floors/structural issues, gutter problems, plumbing issues, etc. We were ok spending the $8,000 or so to fix everything Erik did point out but to fix everything Erik didn't point out would cost us another $25,000. Knowing how much really needed to get done could have made a real difference. Upon talking to Erik after the review was posted he did mention several of our concerns were in line with a house as old as ours is and are therefore something he didn't feel was notable enough to mention or consider to be defects. Again, as first time home buyers we had no idea what was or was not something to be tolerated of an old home that would have been more concerning with a newer home. Some of these issues are still legitimate and should have been noted in the inspection report for sure. Erik is a great guy who cares tremendously about whether or not his clients are happy. We just feel this inspection missed the mark and is costing us a lot in the long run. read more

We were unhappy with the home inspector we used for our previous house purchase, so we knew we needed to find someone different this time around. Premier came highly recommended by our realtor, and we couldn't be happier. Erik is a cut above the rest. He was on time and very professional. He took his time to explain the things he was doing and he was very very thorough. He even showed us and explained how certain things worked, like wiring. He mentioned things to look out for, and was no-nonsense when communicating with the realtors. He answered any question we had for him. The inspection report was formatted in a way that made it very easy to read and understand. Even some of the pictures he took of the house were beautiful! Buying a home can be new and scary, and a buyer has to rely on all kind of professionals to help them navigate through the process. We 100% recommend Erik and Premier if you need a home inspector that is efficient, knowledgeable, personable, and above all, excellent. Sometimes it can seem like a home inspector is just there to help a realtor sell the house, but Erik is a true pro and he is there, with no agenda, to point out potential issues. read more

We are so happy we chose Erik for our home inspection! He was very knowledgeable and helpful. If there were any issues he showed me what it was, what caused it, and recommended a course of action. He would also call me over to show me general info about the house, like how to use the generator and where the main water shut off valve was. He even came back the next day to re-check the oil tank scan. 10/10 would recommend! Thank you Erik! read more

Erik was recommended by us from family friends and I couldn't have been more pleased. He walked us through the outside and inside and let us know what was a concern and also some recommendations. Erik saw a concern on the outside of the house and said what could be happening on the inside. When it came to that portion of the internal inspection his concern was right on spot and is being fixed by the seller saving us thousands of dollars. Even our broker was very impressed how thorough he was. I will recommend him to my family and friends. This is the second time that I have worked with Erik. I have to say without hesitation he is absolutely the best inspector I've worked with yet, and I have worked with others a few times with other homes I've purchased. Let's start off with the fact that he shows up early and ready to go. I showed up to the inspection and he was already in motion working and getting the some of the details sorted out. He takes his time to ensure you understand the issues and what can be done to remediate issues or any potential issues before they arise. His patience and personality match his professionalism along with his attention to detail. He is detailed and never rushes or makes you feel as if he is cutting corners because he is in a rush or late for another appointment. I was very satisfied and to top it off, the final inspection report is so well put together it really gives you a sense of ease and comfort knowing you got more than you paid for. He is extremely informative and most of all professional. Thank you Erik. read more
