My problem is with the diagnosis, and subsequent diagnosis, ultimately leading me to remove my truck and have it repaired else where. My problem was with the DPF, complete with codes. The codes were read and according to the shop liaison, that's what they fixed both times. Check engine light returned twice after leaving the shop. Each time requiring a new diagnostic charge @ around $400. Each time none the prior work was covered under warranty. It seemed to me that the diag fee was more important to the shop than actually fixing my truck. Last and final time before removing my truck was more of the same, with an issue that could've been pinpointed a lot earlier and saved me time and money. I ended up spending over $9000 there only to have to leave and get the actual repairs done elsewhere. * Full disclosure, a separate issue (water pump) was responsible for about a third of the $9k plus.

I put $20,000.00 down and paid weekly payments of $449.96. I have been paying on it for 3 yrs in total I paid approximately $94,000.00 on it. I was in content contact with them trying to get caught up. They sent a default letter and I told them I am going to be sending more money. On 12/29/2025 we were on our way to our 3rd repo that day and all of a sudden we are surrounded by Burlington police. They got out and one of the cops went to the driver side where my husband was sitting and put a gun to his head. I asked them why we were being pulled over and he said the truck had been reported stolen. I showed them my registration and insurance and I assured them that I did not report it stolen. They told me it was East Coast truck & trailer who reported it stolen. I told him that is against the law it is a lease purchase, it's a civil matter not a legal matter. He said he had no choice, the charge is unlawful use of a motor vehicle. That we committed this crime on 12/23/2025. And that we fled from justice. We were in NC doing a repo of a Cadillac SUV that day. I have not been to VA since I picked that truck up. And my husband has never been there. We were taken into custody and booked where we has to sit for 30 days to sign extradition papers. I was picked up 15 days later. My husband is still in jail. He has had 2 heart attacks since he has been locked up. We lost everything because of this bogus charge. I mean everything. Do not do any business with them. From the other reviews I have read they are not a reputable company. The detective that came and picked me up told me that when he did patrol that we was called to do a report for the once a week sometimes two times a week for people missing payments on their tow trucks that was financed through them. He said they need to stopped. Even the police officer who arrested me said it was wrong what they were doing and he was sorry that he had to take us in.

The called to American Truck and Trailer was at 10:30am this morning . Slim and his party arrived at 11am and finally completed the job at 1:15pm. Slim was very suspicious walking to the rear of the truck each time he turned his back.They did not have proper tools. They used my tools to change the tires. This was to ensure he "towed the correct vehicle." I asked why he needed that, to which he condescendingly suggested that I have the mechanic photograph the vehicle then send the pics to him, and if that "made sense" to me. I told him the year, make, and manufacture of my vehicle. I know he's an arrogant know-it-all who thinks everyone should know their vehicle's length, but shouldn't he be able to figure that out based on the info I provided? And commone sense tells you that a mechanic waiting for a tow service would be able to point out the vehicle in question. What a way to talk to a prospective customer!

If I could give no stars I would. Finks Truck repair replaced the radiator in my Freightliner in…read moreMay/June 2021. While they had it out, they recommended replacing the intercooler as well since it is attached to the front of the radiator and I agreed even though I'd never experienced any problem with the intercooler in approx. 500,000 miles of driving. When I got the truck back it looked like the intercooler was crooked. I brought this up to the service manager then and on two subsequent visits for oil changes. Each time I was told the intercooler had been installed correctly. In July 2022, less than 40,000 miles after the intercooler install I blew my turbo. While repairs were being made I was told that the intercooler had to be replaced because it had been installed crooked and had chafed against the frame causing it to leak. The new intercooler was $1330 plus labor. When I brought this up with Finks I was told they had installed the intercooler correctly and they had no idea why it would have failed. BTW- the new intercooler is not crooked, it's lined up neatly with the radiator. Bypass Finks if you possibly can. I'll never go there again.
