I was calling around to various dermatologists in the Miami area trying to find a doctor that could look at a suspicious spot on my back; and it's so tough to find a good dermatologist in Miami. I called inquiring for an appointment and the lady I spoke with at their office was very short on the phone and rude and said they were taking appointments for new clients, but there was a four week wait, and I needed to fill out some form and provide my credit card to secure the appointment. Their policy sounded a little strange (along with the wait time) as I have been to other dermatologists in the Miami area who didn't have that long of a wait time and I've never needed to provide a credit card to secure the appointment. I told the employee that I needed to think about it and she said ok and just hung up on me. I thought the whole exchange was very rude and degrading. To compare, I called another dermatologist office in Hollywood and was treated with respect, booked an appointment on a Saturday two weeks out, and was treated like royalty when I got into the office. I'm glad I found another dermatologist office that treats customers better. read more

I got my beard colored by my barber which I've done numerous times before with no problems. On this occasion things went south by me having an allergic reaction to the dye. Woke up the next morning and my beard itched to no end, swelling, redness and intense burning. I tried to get some relief from some OTC products but they didn't do the job at all. So I decided to check yelp for a good Dermatologist in my area based off of reviews and an office that could see me the same day. Dr. Bilu-Martin's office scheduled an appointment for me to be seen at 1pm whereas other offices tried to fit me in the following day or later in the week. When I arrived at her office I was seen in less than 10 minutes, where she immediately assessed that I was experiencing an allergic reaction to (PPD) in the color dye. She prescribed the appropriate medication that would clear up the allergic reaction and get my face back to normal. I felt relief the next day and my face was completely healed in about 6 days, Thank You Dr. Martin. If you're ever in need of a Dermatologist that can see you the same day and make you feel like she cares about your well being, I'd recommend that you schedule your appointment to see Dr. Bilu-Martin. Mixed review for Dr. Martin. My family and I all used to go to see Dr. Martin and she's a competent doctor--once you are in her office. Having said that, her services are extremely overpriced even as compared to other highly regarded (as well as cosmetic) derms in the area, and I really see no reason for these prices sometimes 2X over market price. Second, she is not very responsive unless you're a very regular client. Third, her staff can be less than friendly. For this reason, we choose to see other doctors. read more

Dr. Martin has been my dermatologist for about 8 years and she is amazing! She is an artist when it comes to cosmetic procedures and I always have amazing results. She is also a great medical doctor and found melanoma on my ankle that looked like a small freckle and I had mohs surgery before it could spread. She has also treated my teenage children successfully for acne and other skin conditions. I switched from a different dermatology practice to Premier Dermatology, MD in Aventura around 6 months ago, and I am so glad that I did. Dr. Bilu Martin and her colleagues are always so professional, kind and compassionate. They make things very easy to understand and lay out my options as though I was a family member for whom they have the utmost of care. The staff is very friendly, making appointments is a breeze, paperwork is minimal and there is no beurarcacy to deal with. My MA was so good that I thought she was a medical doctor! She made sure I had eaten, brought me a snack and a water and made me feel totally at ease. I had a short procedure yesterday and am still amazed at how pain and stress free the experience was. The Doctor and her MA are truly medical professionals from a bygone era where treating the patient's medical need was the top priority. I was very disappointed with my appointment because I have never seen a more expensive copay ($60) and on top of that I did not receive half as much time as I would have liked with the doctor. If I am paying an absurd amount of money then the staff and doctor should be much more friendly. They also push their products which are overpriced. Dr. Martin is such a great find! Her office staff is super friendly, and it is very easy to make an appointment. Her office is easy to get to, clean, and modern. Within 5 minutes of arriving to the office, Adriana brought me back to a room to start going through my health concerns, and Dr. Martin came in shortly after. Dr Martin listened patiently, and was very calm. Meaning, I did not feel rushed, and it was very refreshing to have a doctor who cared. I had two bumps under my skin on my arm that concerned me. She offered to remove them right there, which was quick and painless. I was out of there within 30 minutes of the time I got there! Within three days, the office called to tell me the results (they were negative). If you are looking for a great dermatologist who cares for her patients, is extremely professional, and is super nice, go see Dr. Martin! I have a history of skin cancer and she is the only dermatologist that gives me a full body exam that includes checking my scalp, in-between my toes, the bottom of my feet, etc. That is a true full body exam. Made an appointment and went in to see the Dr., explained my issue and took a biopsy to make sure all was well. A week later I still hadn't received any communications regarding my results, called and they told me that they didn't have the results yet. Ten minutes later I received a call that they had my results in...why haven't they called me??, because her assistants don't care about the patients. She told me that it "could be" either this or that and prescribed some cream that I needed to go pick up from the pharmacy. The Dr. assured me that if the cream didn't work she would prescribe something else, while knowing that I was going out of the country for the entire summer so I wouldn't be able to get anything else. Now 2 months later, I still have the same problem and have a relatitive back at home and her assistant Adriana is a HORRIBLE assistant. We called 5 days ago to let Dr. Martin know whats going on and that I need something to take care of this problem (as discussed when at her office) and we never heard from her. Called again the following day and never heard back again. Called again on day 4 and never heard back, so today (day 5) it was time to get loud! She very rudely said she called back yesterday but how if you don't have the number?? She claims its been too long and that she won't prescribe anything unless I come back in to the office. Well that can't happen since I'm out of the country!! She is the rudest person I have ever had to deal with! When I get back into town, I will be calling to speak to Dr. Martin but I will NEVER go back again. If the Dr. says 1 thing knowing the situation and the nasty assistant days something else , I believe what the Dr. says, goes! She probably didn't even speak to the Dr. about my situation. The first time i went to this office i had a great experience. The doctor was professional and seemed very knowledgeable. I recently scheduled an IPL treatment that required a $100 deposit. I assumed the deposit was required in the event of a no show, however I didn't get any type of policy e-mailed to me, nor did the receptionist inform me of any type of cancellation policy. The night before my appointment my babysitter called to let me know she was feeling ill, obviously with Covid I was not going to have her come into my home and watch my child. I called the office first thing 9am to reschedule my 3:00 appointment and the receptionist informed me that they would need an additional deposit and that my initial deposit would NOT go toward my treatment. I am a healthcare provider and understand how frustrating no shows and cancellations can be, however I did inform them of my need to reschedule 6 hours prior to my appointment. When I asked to speak to a manager the receptionist informed me that there was no manager or anyone else I could speak with. I understand how valuable a physician's time is but It is a shame that this is the way things are handled, especially during a pandemic. I will not be rescheduling my appointment. read more
