I booked online…read moreSaturday for a Sunday appointment, and about a half hour before the appointment, I got a call that they didn't have any technicians in to complete a state inspection. The guy who called told me I could go to their location on McKinley if I wanted to get it done that day. However, there was a good bit of a wait, so I ended up going home and rebooking online for a weekday appointment. I got to my appointment about ten minutes early and when I walked in, the man at the counter asked me, "You here for an inspection?" and called me by name. I confirmed he was correct. It felt good to be expected. They took my car back immediately and were done very quickly. Their waiting area is comfortable and clean. Parking was easy. The location is convenient at the corner of Southwestern and Camp - easy in and out if you're making a right turn!

After leaving the store, I immediately began noticing scraping and clunking noises coming from the rear of the vehicle. After inspecting the car myself, I discovered that the brake caliper was scraping against the inside of my wheel, causing visible damage. I brought the vehicle back to Pep Boys the very next day and explained the issue to the manager. After they took my vehicle into the shop to inspect the situation I was repeatedly told that when he looked at it, "everything was fine" and that "maybe something got wedged in it." I showed him pictures I had taken on my phone clearly showing the caliper scraping against the wheel and the resulting damage. Even after seeing the pictures, the manager continued to insist that everything was fine when he looked at it and responded, "What do you want me to do about it?" When my vehicle was returned to me, the caliper had been moved back into the correct position, and the damage to my wheel had been spray-painted over. The manager refused to acknowledge any problem and made no attempt to compensate the situation. The complete lack of accountability and the way my concerns were dismissed is extremely concerning. What else will they lie about? I will never bring another vehicle to Pep Boys again.
