I have been dealing with disc herniation from L3-S1 since the beginning of 2026 with multiple ER visits and pain 10/10. I couldn't walk, lift, lay down, or have any semblance of a productive life. It was a dark period for me. I had seen Dr Kim before for back issues but that was for general pain and discomfort. This was totally different. The doctors wanted to do surgery to reduce the pressure and reestablish adequate blood flow. I had told Dr Kim about my injury, the treatments and medicine, and that the initial surgery consult was 3 weeks away. He told me, I can help you and you won't need surgery. He recommended coming in 3 times a week. I said I'd like to come in everyday if that's acceptable. He concurred. It was painful at first since I could lie down. I had to lie on my left side. He would treat me with acupuncture and traditional Chinese herbs. He was focused on pain relief first, the range of motion, then exercise. At my initial consult, the doctor did not recommend surgery back of the physical exam and the difference between when I first saw him and that appointment! I highly recommend him especially if you have back or mobility issues.

I received two treatments from him. In the second treatment he needled me in a way that made my injuries flare up. I left in pain and I am still trying to undo the effect of his treatment. I also felt that he was not focused on, nor effective in, treating my primary concern, even though I brought it up several times.

Dr Ruiz has worked with our family for the last 3.5 years and she helped us both identify and then resolve one of the most complex cases of PANS and Lyme (and co-infections). Our case had confounded most doctors until we started working with her. She has always gone "above and beyond" to help our son, and to support our family. Her specialist knowledge in PANS/PANDAS and Lyme combined with her extensive experience, gives patients real choices in terms of the traditional medical, functional and homeopathic treatment options available. The office is very warm and welcoming, and Paul is always so helpful with managing any questions you may have before and after appointments. Dr Ruiz offered our family hope, light and guidance during the hardest and darkest of times, and we will always be forever grateful. We could not recommend her highly enough.

Out of desperation, we sat through what felt more like a therapy session than a doctor visit. Tools like an ear scope weren't ready to be used, (she shares a room in a spa, so other people use her "office") had to take our patient time to figure that it was unplugged (which normally I wouldn't care but your charge extra 150 every 15 minutes) I felt like everything was stretched out to keep us there, after our first initial visit time was over she asked if we wanted to proceed yet nothing was even really covered, so instead of making another appointment we stayed. Looking back now I definitely feel like a fool and should have left. She kept telling us she doesn't do it for the money but her prices say otherwise. I found a new doctor who is priced fair. Who passes her practitioner discount, who gives us advice how to save money, how to get your insurance to rather than just a super bill.

He is compassionate, intuitive to your body's signals, and has excellent bed side manner (I am 100% comfortable every time). He can read my body and tell me what issues I am experiencing before I even tell him. I explained to him that I had been experiencing Sciatica pain for the last 4-5 days and he treated that specifically. Well when I left I still had some pain (much less) then about 2 hours later I realized out of surprise that I had ZERO pain. The sciatica pain was gone! I've had massages, chiropractor, etc try to alleviate my sciatica and never has it been done so quickly. The cost for his service is more than fair and they do accept most insurances. The staff is always so so exceptionally nice! Be prepared for his schedule to be booked out too so get in and be patient for that first appointment. Well worth the wait. Cannot wait for my long term goals to be achieved. Feeling blessed in the meantime.

I feel so much more connected in my body. Dr. Byron is so knowledgeable and has experience with PCOS and other female issues. I finally feel like I'm on the right path to healing and wellness. Michele at the front desk is amazing too. It's so relaxing in there, everyone is so nice. I can't say enough great things! Ps! Dr. Byron practices the Japanese style so the needles are super small and you can't even feel them. (Coming from a needle phobic that can't even get her blood drawn!)
