For those that know Pam and Steve Constantine and the work of this non-profit center, 5 stars can…read morenever be enough. Their work is a labor of love. I can speak to my own experiences of helping friends come to this place for guidance with taxes ... and then coming on my own for some advice. While I teach anatomy, physiology, nutrition, and other realms of sciences to do with human biochemistry and structure., I know very little about the machinations of state and federal taxes. Some of us have gotten caught in that machine for various reasons such as loan settlements ... or even from improperly paying for taxes because the Turbo tax software was too arcane (or not arcane enough) in its directions. In the case of loan settlements, an unexpected tax assessment of industrial proportions arrives in the mail. For the wealthier members of society who can turn to tax lawyers, things get worked out. For the rest of society in the lower half of the economic order, it's hard to find free or even reasonably priced advice. That actually means a lot of us like teachers as well as students. Who ya gonna turn to? Pam and Steve Constantine. Many people who don't understand taxes at all line up and get their taxes done for free ... some come here speaking limited English, but very literate Spanish, Cambodian. Laotian, and other languages. Those in serious trouble with the tax offices get industrial strength help from Steve for a reasonable rate. I'm lucky to have had an evening division student turn me on to the work of Pam and Steve. Word of mouth gets their names passed around a lot. I've steered people here and arrived here on my own behalf. The federal and state tax offices sometimes sends people to this center for advice. So enough said. It's about taxes in these strange economic times in America.

He said that I will have to pay a medical penalty and that I should go apply for medical ASAP. I went in San Antonio community with my brother on Tuesday morning there was only one person doing taxes and plenty of people waiting. Another worker came in to help out Ivonne (I didn't catch his name) making the process a bit quicker for everyone waiting. It turned out that I was exempt from penalties of medical. We then return back on Thursday as we tried to solve some issues with my brothers paperwork. Everyone working at this place including Ivonne and Pat are so friendly, helpful and above all super funny!! I will continue to come here and recommend them to all my family and friends.

Now, over a year later, I've been trying to get my final two months of 2025 bookkeeping and payroll records. I've had to follow up daily, and either get no response or "I'll do it later." This level of unresponsiveness is unacceptable. I don't recommend her--take your business somewhere more reliable.

I attempted to use A To Z Tax Services a couple weeks ago…read more I called ahead to schedule an appointment with an accountant named "Huey" for 1pm. I arrived on time, but I was greeted by a young man named James, who I believe was an assistant. He informed me that Huey was still out to lunch. Unfortunately, his extended lunch was more important than attending a scheduled meeting with a new client. James was very helpful and professional in assisting me with the intake of my tax documents. He took my information, and told me that I would receive an email notifying me of any additional documents needed. I went home and waited for the email. After about a day, I called the office. It went straight to voicemail, and I left a message asking for the email I was told I'd receive. Unfortunately, I didn't receive any email, so a couple days later I called again, got the voicemail, and left another message asking for a follow-up. I've received zero communication back. Disappointingly, this was a total waste of time for me, and despite the positive reviews I read on the Yelp.com page for this business, I was totally ghosted by them after investing my time in trying to become a new client of theirs. Unless you enjoy wasting time and being ghosted, I do not recommend this business to any new clients. Update: About a week after writing this review, the owner of the company contacted me. They admitted to everything I wrote. Their excuse for Huey's extended lunch was that he had a stroke, and their excuse for not returning my calls was that they were having a new carpet installed. They then tried to bribe me into deleting my review by offering to do my next year's taxes free of charge. Attached is a screenshot of the text offering the bribe. Trying to bribe a client to pull an accurate review is a dishonest and shady business practice. All the more reason to avoid this place.

These families range from middle-class to high-net worth. No matter who she's working with, she jumps into everyone's situation looking to learn and see how she can help. More recently, one of our clients was a victim of fraud (the other tax firm had lost their data) and Margarita spent hours on the phone with the IRS working to clear it up and find next steps. We found solutions and her fee for service was extremely reasonable. Her credentials are top notch - IRS Enrolled Agent (EA). If you see these letters, know they represent the highest pedigree in tax education (more direct than the broader CPA). I highly recommend working with this firm on your tax and accounting needs, as I trust her ethics and competency. We have high standards for our clients and this firm meets all of our criteria.

Unfortunately, after some rocky years followed by a few solid ones, they made huge mistakes on our taxes. Their primary concern was denying responsibility rather than helping navigate the resulting ID fraud hold that was placed on our tax return. (And no, you won't get your refund while there's a fraud hold on your account.) Then there was this past year's return... They filed a return that inflated our tax bill by more than 40%. It just seemed too fantastical an amount, so I asked them to review the numbers again, and even specifically pointed them to what I thought might be wrong. They insisted everything was correct. I called another CPA to get a second opinion, and she quickly explained our return was horribly wrong. So I paid her to review my last three years in detail. I can't even say out loud the total dollar value of the mistakes Jong Lee and his staff accountant Alex cost us because it's all too embarrassing. Alex (but not Jong, who couldn't actually be bothered) eventually acknowledged the issue, and promised to fix everything and reimburse me for the second CPA review. Well, I'm still waiting, but now they just ignore my calls and emails. I'm not sure what their strategy is other than to hope I disappear, but that isn't going to happen.
