I've now been to Ivonne Sanchez Beauty twice, and seen Bella both times- the first time for a…read morechrome manicure, the second time for a shellac mani/pedi. I was hesitant to try somewhere new after having gone to the same place for years, but came initially as part of a girl date with one of my friends. The salon is very bright and clean. I love pink, so they earn brownie points with me for the rose gold, white, and pink decor. Their staff is really personable and friendly. It's really my favourite part of the experience! Bella was amazing and really listened and "gets" what I'm asking for. I'm picky and indecisive, so that really says a lot and is important to me when it comes to nails or any beautification. I also really love that they have so many colour options and offer cool ideas that I wouldn't necessarily think of on my own. After my initial visit, I learned chrome doesn't work well for me- I think my nails are maybe too oily or my cuticles just didn't like it. Bella went above and beyond to find a solution, and really cared about me being happy with her work. I can't even say how valuable that is in this kind of industry- as a consumer it's certainly rare to find people who take so much pride in their work. It's a nice central location, in Sparks street. For convenience I just parked at the World Exchange Plaza (free on weekends!) but there is also street parking available if you know where to look. I would totally recommend this spot to a friend, I'm considering coming back to try the lash extensions or microblading, I love that it's all in one spot!

I would highly suggest making an appointment well beforehand, however, as some artists are booked solid for weeks. My brother needed to get a couple designed and I wanted to get a cover up. We had an idea of what we wanted, but we didn't have an exact picture. Rob was our tattoo artist and he gave my brother a bunch of books to get some ideas. My brother wanted to get two dragons, one on each calf, and chose a picture from one of the books. Rob suggested that he design another dragon based on the original picture, one to compliment the other, facing the other way. The design was fantastic and the tattoo was even better! It was incredibly detailed, shading and all. It only took just under 3 hours for the two, black and white tattoos, including design time. My cover up was also amazing. I had a black and white tiger done with a bit of orange on my right shoulder blade. The size and shading was done perfectly to completely conceal what I had, and Rob made sure I was always relaxed and comfortable the whole time. I'm pretty sure I even fell asleep for a little while during the tattooing! The atmosphere is very casual and has an alternative, skater type of feel. They had metal playing when my brother was getting his tattoos, and the Beatles during mine. Some of the tattoo artists also have their own art and canvases for sale in the shop, so it's great to take a look around. All of the guys are so nice and even if you're lying on a bed with another stranger being tattooed next to you, you still feel like you're just hanging out with some friends. The pricing is very reasonable, but if you ask me, they should be charging a lot more since their artists are incredibly talented and have even won awards for their tattoos.

I have never before been treated by a business owner, as I was by Diana. I wanted to warn consumers who may have gift certificates or coupons for this clinic that they may have very restricted terms. Diana had printed coupons / gift certificates for promotional usage, which did not indicate limitations or expiry, and when it came time for me to use the ones I had, she denied that I could get their full value. The bigger issue, however, was the lack of care she had for me as a person. Additionally, she did not seem to care or forsee that I would not continue to spend potentially thousands of dollars at her establishment. If you have to deal with the management at this establishment, beware.

No matter, my arm will be skin-coloured in my wedding photos which will be taken next year. Anyhow, I found only two licensed laser therapists in Ottawa who remove tattoos, and after meeting Diana Murphy, I felt a connection right away - she made me feel comfortable about my decision, and her knowledge and passion for this therapy was evident right away. Even the receptionist who took my calls was warm and welcoming! So I found out that yes, it is painful, and yes, it's more expensive than getting the darned tattoo in the first place, but this is what I want. Diana really took the time to explain every step of the process and was honest about the good/bad/ugly about the process (feels like a burn the rest of the day after the process, it blisters, it itches, and you have to come back for several procedures to completely remove it). My first treatment was not fun - I'm a bit of a wimp I guess, but I thought I was going to faint. Diana knew I wasn't well, so she stopped, as often as I needed, and iced the spot, tried to take my mind off things by talking about my upcoming wedding... very sweet lady indeed!). My second appointment wasn't as painful, probably because Diana suggested trying to get through the treatment in one fell swoop (quicker, get over it - like ripping a bandaid off!). I only asked her to stop once, and she was super accommodating and never made me feel like I was a high-maintenance client (even though I think I am! ;-) I would highly recommend Diana for any of the treatments she provides. She is knowledgable, genuinely caring and nice, and I believe her prices are less than half of what the other place was charging. They also offer free consultations so feel free to just call and ask questions, or make an appointment to visit. You might realize that it is possible to get rid of that aweful tattoo on your -------(wherever ;-) LOL
