I interviewed several companies to install sprinklers at my home and Precision was the cheapest. They weren't the best sales pitch but I decided to go with the best price. I immediately regretted my decision when the installation process took two weeks! I had been pitched a two day install... But those two days were spread out amongst two weeks! During that time my yard looked like crap! The whole reason for getting sprinklers was to make the yard look better. Instead they did a careless job of digging and installing the pipes and cleaning up after themselves. Customer service at this company is also not the greatest. They are high volume and as a result you are not a priority. I wish I had done more research and paid a little bit more for better customer service. read more

Don't think your saving money by using this company, it's going to cost you more in the long run. Do your homework, sure it's just some hoses basically underground on a timer that sprays water, but what I encountered from the company was no knowledge of the tech on what he was doing. I can't blame him, nobody trained him, it goes up the ladder here. read more

Awful customer service. Always late when you call for service. Or they show up after you cancel and then charge you for the visit. Promise refunds for questionable service but then never send the refund. I would but recommend this company to anyone. read more

AVOID!!!!! Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They keep sending the wrong tech out who doesn't know how to fix a sprinkler head and turn our sprinklers on. It's taken two months and we're still waiting to get our sprinkler system going this year. And on top of that I got a letter from St. Louis County that they lost their license in May. read more

I would give zero stars if it were possible! I was charged $200 before the technician left my house. Not one of my sprinkler heads come up. My system has not run off the timer one time and there are sprinkler heads that are non-functioning but he did not report them to me. Then I also received a bill for $200 in the mail saying it was unpaid. Literally the worst! I have used them for many years, just keeps getting worse, never again! read more

I have no problem paying for labor charges but do not want to pay for labor charges associated with a problem they created. It does not make sense for any business to do this. The first time we turned on the sprinkler system at our new home we knew something was not right, two of the heads would not go back down when the water was turned off. The previous owners had a system installed and maintained by precision irrigation. As part of our sale, they had purchased a service plan for the sprinkler system just in case any repairs were needed in 2015. They had purchased the ultimate service plan $589 which was supposed to include start up, maintenance with all parts and labor and system winterization. The technician that they sent out cleared a lot of broken pipe from the line (probably a broken pipe resultant from poor winterization which they did in 2014) and replaced two valves. Reportedly the warranty only covered 1.5 hours of his time so we were charged for the additional time he spent. The next morning I walk out into my yard and find water spraying up from the side of my house near the back flow preventer, our whole yard was saturated with water. Obviously they messed something up of missed something major. They could not get someone out again for another week and a half to check out the issue and on top of this I discover that we would be charged $100 an hour and labor charges for them to fix their mistake. This is not right, there is probably a broken pipe in my yard and either way we look at this this is their fault. it is not right that they can mess something up and charge for the repair. I would like them to fix their mistake and not charge me for it. This is poor business practice. read more

The company is a rip off. Two springs ago after my system was on for about two weeks I discovered 5 of my control valves were all split on the bottom the result of not properly draining the previous fall. I confirmed with the technician that they all froze and split. So I told him the repairs were their responsibility and I would not pay. They sent me a bill for $471.00 which I refused to pay. I spoke to the manager who told me the valves were like tires and eventually wear out. I told him all 4 tire don't blow out at one time. I refused to pay so they called my house repeatedly harassing my wife until she paid the bill without telling me. They are crooks and overcharge for everything. read more

This company is not licensed to test backflow devices or install irrigation systems in St. Louis County. They are fraudulent in all business practices and any positive reviews that you may run across are written by employees and their family members. The owner, Jim Nienhaus, threatens all new employees that they must right a review. The company will refuse to correct issues they have caused with out charging the customer more, unless a customer threatens to go to the BBB or write the truth in a review. The owners lost the liscense necessary due to fraudulent testing practices. The general manager Randy Brown has called homeowners stupid and jerks while out on a job site when the homeowners have valid reasons for needing work to be repaired. Customer service and workmanship is a pathetic joke. The owners cultivate this thinking so don't waste your time. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND FIND ANOTHER COMPANY. read more

I wish I would have looked at these reviews before I called for service. I had similar problems that were already noted. They could not get my sprinkler system working in the spring even though it worked fine throughout the summer and fall. They attempted to re-wire the system and replaced some of the pipes and valves. They ran into more problems and the front yard started to flood with water. He finally stopped the leaking but said he could not continue because he had other calls to go to that day. I am not exactly sure what the problem was because the employee spoke limited English and was difficult to understand. No one called to reschedule. I finally called them to reschedule. They had no idea there was a problem but said they would send a more experienced guy next time. The second "more experienced" guy came and got part of the system going but not all of the stations. They wanted to charge me for the labor for both guys. I refused and they split the difference with me. I just had the system turned on by a competitor and they noted problems with the way they "fixed" it and noted areas of leaking where it flooded at the last visit. I could go on but I will stop here. I would strongly recommend you not use this company. There are so many better places to go. read more

If you value your lawn what so ever do not use this company. It took numerous calls/emails to get an installation set up on the books. The crew that installed had not been trained properly. Left my yard in shambles. Finally when they did call back all they wanted was their payment. The rain sensor is STILL not working properly. The yard still looks like a bomb went off in my yard. They have yet to call back because they already have my payment. I horrible company to work with. Stay way from this company. read more

So happy that we chose precision irrigation for our new sprinkler system. We even decided to go with the rain sensor to help avoid over watering as we travel quite often. From the day we signed to installation took less than a week and it was installed fully in less than two days. My lawn has never been happier! read more

Precision irrigation is a big rip off. Paid them $259 to come out to turn the system on and adjust the sprinklers. The guy they sent did not even know where the water valve were and took 45 minutes after he was told where the valve and the controller was. After one week if vacation, we came home to see our lawn was brown. We called them to gave someone to come back to get the system fix, they said they cannot get anyone out for 10 days...seemed to be standard answer they give their customers. Anyway, I turned the system on and the water on...basically the guy came out and did not do anything...left everything off...and charged us $259. The BBC site shows A rating, but there were 2 reviews and 29 complaints and all were negative. We call to let them know that they did nit do the job they were paid to do and we want our money back. Of course, we did not receive a refund. We asked to speak to manager, but the receptionist refuse to connect us to thw manager. It looks like all tge reviews are the same. Did out fo the work, over changing, nanager will not call back. Don't trust BBC and don't call Precision Irrigation. Spread the word DO NOT trust Precision Irrigation. read more

I have used Precision for several irrigation system start-ups and shut-downs. Typically I have been satisfied with their work. They give a large appointment window, but are always willing to have the tech call 30 minutes before arriving. They have also always arrived when scheduled. All that being said, I will never use them again after my last system start-up. Several items needed replaced, which I was happy to have them do. However, upon receiving the bill for the work, the prices they charged for the replacement parts was beyond ridiculous. I understand that they mark these items up and know that they are a business and need to make a profit, but the prices they charged me border on criminal. I had a 1" ball valve replaced for which they charged me $89.14 (I found the same item on Grainger.com for $9.21). The next item was a Wilkens Rubber Kit (essentially a gasket), for which I was charged $71.65 (found same item on Amazon for $30.00). The last item was a Toro Wireless Rain Sensor, charged $162.00 for sensor only, found at sprinkler supply for $78.00 (and that included not only the sensor but the receiver too). So in total I was charged $323 (parts only....labor charges are not included in this number) for items that without looking for more than 5 minutes I found for $120. I am certain spending a little more time searching, I could have found these items for less than $100. When I called they told me there was nothing they could do, I told them in that case I would never use them again, they hung-up on me. read more

Something's going on with Precision Irrigation. I have used this company is the past years with the normal issues but otherwise responsive customer service. This year they sent out a technician for our two properties. He arrived with a terrible attitude, nasty in fact, and replaced 9 or so sprinkler heads he said didn't work. He said he couldn't provide a receipt for what and which were replaced, that we would receive this by email. Nothing to date has arrived and payment was expected on the spot. This was May when it was not necessary to run the system. Since we have turn it on, noted our lawn has significant areas of brown spots. Turns out these irrigation heads were installed faulty, some even buried and twisted into the sidewalk where the heads cannot operate! I have tried to call Precision for the past several days and I'm indefinitely on hold. Looks like I'll need to get another irrigation company to repair this mess! read more

I have never left a review prior to this one but this was the worst customer service I have ever encountered. I was given a 4 1/2 hour window as an appointment timeframe for my service. The technician was 3 1/2 hours late to this window. During this time, I was never proactively contacted to be told they were running behind. Instead, each of the three times I reached out to contact the office I was told that the technician was approximately 5 minutes away at the appointment immediately preceding mine. I was also told flippantly that "things come up". In addition I was told that there was no way that my payment would be reduced to reflect the extremely late "appointment time". The office staff, specifically Trish, was extremely rude, condescending and unapologetic for for their lateness. The only reason I gave this one star is because I was unable to post this review without checking at least one star...it deserves zero stars. read more

I would have chosen zero stars if that had been an option. We were loyal customers of this company for over 10 years. They handled our annual maintenance as well as start up and shut down. We had some landscaping done by another company and asked Precision to come out and fix a water line that had to be disconnected by the landscapers. They sent out one of their most experienced guys, I showed him what needed to be done and he gave me an estimated price. When the workers showed up days later they did not connect the existing line as requested but ran a whole new line leaving the two ends of the old line standing up in the back yard. Then they sent us a bill for more than double what their senior engineer had told us. We tried repeatedly for weeks to contact them. We were told a manager would call us back the next day only to wait for a week with no word. We played this game for 3 months when we started receiving calls every other day from "helpful" staff trying to get our credit card over the phone to pay our bill. Multiple times we explained our situation to numerous workers who promised we would get a call that never came. Fearing they would send us to collections we paid their exorbitant bill and we have officially washed our hands of this company and their terrible customer service. This is a company that you absolutely DO NOT want to give your business to. read more
