I have been a patient of Dr. Jurcisin's for many years. Dr. Jurcisin is the most meticulous, kind, caring and knowledgeable Doctor I have ever met. I have suffered greatly from multiple foot problems and ankle issues which required several surgeries. Some of the procedures I have had throughout the years were to treat my bunions, hammertoes, corns, bone spurs, ingrown toenails, and a flatfoot surgery that has made a tremendous improvement in my returning to my normal activities. The surgeries went exceptionally well, and I had minimal discomfort. I was given a cane and crutches when I needed them. My results far exceeded my expectations! Likewise, his office insurance coordinator made sure everything was pre-certified by my insurance company, so no tedious and time-consuming telephone calls with the insurance company for me! During my post operative care Dr. Jurcisin gave me his personal cell phone and frequently called me to check up on me and made sure I had no concerns. When I was unable to make my appointment, he rearranged his weekend schedule and accommodated my visit on a Saturday when the office was closed to change my bandages.  After surgery I was casted for custom molded orthotics to maintain my foot in the correct position. Whenever I have an appointment at his office everyone treats me well. The staff are very warm and friendly, and they try their best to work around my schedule. The medical assistant always gets me in right away and takes great care of me. The office is always neat and clean. The insurance coordinator has been there for several years so I have never had any problems with my insurance we all know how difficult that could be. I always look forward to my appointments because when I leave, I feel better. Dr. Jurcisin is an excellent diagnostician, listens patiently and carefully and explains fully before moving forward with any treatments he has given me. I never feel any pressure. He always says when you are ready, I will be here. I am very happy that this is not a group of practice where you might be seen by several doctors over the course of your treatment. I tried that and it did not work for me. I like to know that my doctor knows my history and even if I don't need to see him for a while I know when I return, I will get the same quality treatment I am accustomed to by the same person. I find reviews to be very helpful and reassuring for future patients. Since this was my first surgery, I've read over countless reviews prior to the procedure for both my safety and sanity :-). After a speedy, flawless recovery, I chose to share my experience to hopefully relax anyone who's uneasy as I was. I had two surgeries, one on each foot. Each consisted of a bunionectomy and toe shortening. I did my right foot first and the left foot the following two weeks later. There is a 6 week recovery period for each procedure so all together, I was handicapped for a total of 2 months. I was instructed to not apply pressure to my feet for 2 weeks. I was given an air walk orthopedic shoe that encouraged me to be mobile on my feet when the two weeks were complete yet provided protection for the safety of the two pins that were in my feet. Uncomfortable is the best way to describe the feeling post surgery. Many fear that they will be in extreme pain, but if you properly follow your prescription, you will only have feelings of minor throbbing and even the minor throbbing lasted only the first 4 days. It has now been 20 days since I left my last boot. My walking has improved as well as my posture. I am now in my therapy stage where I am working on flexibility and movement. My feet have never felt more beautiful, free, PAINLESS... if I had to redo this I totally would. Dr. J is an extreme perfectionist and is very detailed about his work. He is excellent at communicating so if theres anything you're unsure of, just ask! I knew I had nothing to worry about right after the consultation. I was given the run down of my procedure and he explained everything so precisely. His office staff is awesome and make it their priority to give you the utmost personal experience as one of their patients. I've known Dr. Jurcisin at Precision Footcare for over 20 years. He is friendly, family oriented and very knowledgeable in his field of podiatry. I have had bunions removed from both of my feet many years ago and they are perfectly healed and pain free! Later in life I developed neuropathy and tend to get calluses and pre-ulcer on my toes. Dr. Jurcisin treated my feet with extreme care and nursed them back to health. Currently, I am being treated for a heel spur, sprain and other issues on both feet and one foot has healed without having to do surgery. I appreciate that his establishment has x-ray equipment, which is efficient and I have received my results immediately. Dr. Jurcisin's office also has all the right foot accessories for different types of injuries. For example, when my foot was wrapped in a bandage, I got a soft plastic waterproof boot that prevented water from soaking through the bandage when showering. For a sprained ankle, he gave me a special boot with air pump for comfort walking. And since I am flat footed, I have received custom made orthotics, which supported not only my feet but alleviated my back pain as well. Additionally, Dr. Jurcisin offers a variety of orthopedic shoes for his patients at a reasonable price and saves time for those of us who are having a hard time getting around. I have been seeing Dr. Jurcisin for about six months now. I am writing this review because of the experience I just had. I had a flair up (most likely Gout) recently on my left foot and of course it happened on a weekend. Dr. John as I call him, called me back promptly and had me take a medication that he called into my pharmacy. This was on a Saturday morning. I was really concerned as my foot was very swollen and I had to go to a conference on Monday morning in Nashville. Dr. John instructed me to call him again on Sunday morning to give him an update. When I told him that my foot was still swollen, he had me meet him at his office - on a Sunday morning! He treated my foot with a few injections which reduced the swelling. He wrapped it and told me to apply ice to it on and off every half hour and to continue to rest it and stay off it. Monday morning I woke up and was so pleased to see my foot was back to normal and I was able to attend my conference in Nashville. Thank You Dr. John for being so caring and attentive! To start off with, where can you find a doctor in "NYC" that works 12 hours a day, 5 days a week. That would be Dr. Jurcisin and his staff at a great location in midtown. I have been seeing Dr J for many years. Like the other reviewer, I also did research to find a Podiatrist in midtown Manhattan. I found out that Dr. J was a past president of the New York State Podiatric Medical Association so I gave him a shot. I see him about once a month for therapy which starts off in a foot whirlpool (awesome). He has also made me othodicts which I can't live without. More importantly, I had surgery in his office May 30th, 2017. I had a small, slow growing bump on my foot that Dr. J has been monoriting for a few years. It was getting bigger, plus he discovered another cyst so we both agreed that I should have surgery. I was very comfortable having the surgery in his office compared to having it done at a hospital. I was in unremitting pain from plantar fasciitis when I came to Dr. Jurcisin's office. Dr. Jurcisin listened attentively to me as I described my discomfort. He examined me carefully and worked with my insurance to set up an MRI diagnostic. Upon receiving the results, Dr. Jurcisin prescribed therapy. My therapy was administered in his office by his extremely competent assistant, Ms. Ruela. I am pleased to report that the therapy was effective and my pain has subsided. I severely twisted my ankle and it was beyond excruciating that I needed to consult with a doctor. My wife referred me to her Podiatrist, Dr. John Jurcisin. He was very attentive, took x-rays and gave me a thorough examination and explained that nothing was broken but I had a ton of inflammation. The doctor prescribed anti-inflammatory medications, instructions on how to take care of my foot at home and gave me a surgical shoe to wear. Over 20 years ago Dr Jurcisin removed a tumor from one of my toes. He was so confident and professional that I immediately felt I was in good hands. The job he did was very clean and the scar is barely visible. I had very few feet issues ever since, only a couple of minor running injuries (black toe, plantar fasciitis) but each time going back to Dr Jurcisin was just the obvious choice to get fixed since not only I had a very good experience for my toe surgery but Dr Jurcisin belongs to the running community, understands how the mind of a runner side lined by injuries works and will give the best advise to heal fast and avoid further injuries. Dr.Jurcisin has been my Podiatrist since July 2011. He is amazing. I live in the Rockaway's, work downtown Brooklyn in the Courts and at lunch time once a week I take the F train to 63th street and a bus to see him. I see him and in addition I get therapy for my foot as well. I never wait more than 5 minutes. He has a professional and friendly staff. (That's important to me because I can love my doctor but if his staff is clueless then it's a problem.) I'm in my 60's with diabetes who has many providers. Dr. Jurcisin came highly recommended from multiple family friends who are also podiatrists. I was told about his vast experience and "whatever he tells you to do listen and just do it". I have to say he has more than lived up to that. I had a jones fracture on the 5th metatarsal of my right foot. Since it broke in 2 spots and I'm very athletic, Dr. Jurcisin ended up putting a 3-4 inch screw into my 5th metatarsal. Surgery took place right in his office and was about 2 hours. Everything went very smoothly and almost 3 months later I'm just about back to full health. I would definitely recommend Dr. Jurcisin. I found Dr. J randomly one day via ZocDoc and have been pleasantly satisfied with his services and treatment. ZocDoc can be hit or miss but I can promise a home run should you go see Dr Jurcisin. Before my visit I cross checked him with the NYS Podiatric Medical Association's database which I recommend before choosing any podiatrist. Dr. Jurcisin shares his office with his wife's dental practice which is adorable. If this weirds you out I would say don't be, the two practices have separate spaces. Great service ! Even greater doctor ! He did not only fix my feet but he is very personable and is all about making the patient look and feel good . I was rolled out in a wheel chair my first surgery and one of the nurses took me downstairs and got me into a cab that was paid for by the office .
