During my intake, after discussing my vision concerns, I was told that I would likely need prisms. I also specifically mentioned that I have convergence issues when reading. However, I left the examination without prisms and, more concerning to me, without any real discussion of the convergence problem I had brought up. After the exam, I was asked to look at eyeglass frames. I found a pair I liked and wrote down the manufacturer and style because I wanted to compare prices before purchasing. I found the same frames online for more than $200 less, but I still wanted to compare Healthy Eyes' complete price, including lenses, before making a decision. I later called the office, explained who I was, when I had been there, and why I was calling. I do not know the name of the person who answered the phone, but I was treated as though I were an inconvenience before I even had the opportunity to ask my question about the price of the glasses and lenses. That telephone interaction ultimately made my decision for me. I will not be purchasing glasses here, returning for future care, or recommending the office. My husband had also planned to make an appointment, but he will now go elsewhere. It is unfortunate that one interaction can leave such a negative impression of an otherwise pleasant office, but the way a patient is treated on the phone is every bit as important as how they are treated in person.

I received a notice via snail mail then, I received an unannounced, follow-up call from "Tri-West" to immediately contact Dr. Edgecomb's office for my next optometry appointment. WOT???? Uh~WOT???? WHOA~I had no clue I was being transferred nor did I receive a warning from VA Mather Hospital I was being transferred as Dr. Edgecomb's optometry patient! NICE notification, eh? Anyway, I scheduled my first appointment around the second week of September 2018: To my utter dismay, Tri-West only submitted my name and also, I'm a Military Veteran receiving medical care at VA Mather Hospital . . . Dr. Edgecomb's Medical Staff never received my optometry medical records from VA Mather Hospital equating utter Peter Principle incompetency at Tri-West's finest daftness, i.e., Dr. Edgecomb's and his Medical Staff had to start from scratch not knowing ANYTHING about my medical, optometry history! Dr. Edgecomb was fervently lost when I first visited his office; he had no medical records whatsoever regarding anything about the reasons being transferred as his new eye patient! Dr. Edgecomb: "So~What brings you here today?" He's fumbling looking at two pages of just my name and I'm a Military Veteran looking at his expression on his face appearing forlornly lost . . . DOH! Me: "Uh . . . I need renewing my eyeglasses' and contacts' prescription." Dr. Edgecomb: "Well~I guess I have to start a new examination for you, since I don't have your VA Medical Records." Yeah, Tri-West: How DARE you insert Dr. Edgecomb in the most unsettling feeling of fettered incompetency when Tri-West FAILED submitting my optometry medical records to his office BEFORE MY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT? BEST proactive plan: Go to VA Mather Hospital requesting TEN YEARS worth of my optometry medical records for Dr. Edgecomb's office! Since obtaining my VA medical records, Dr. Edgecomb and his Medical Staff have the ability understanding my optical issues succinctly-finally! It took awhile for Dr. Edgecomb finalizing my eyeglass and contacts examinations receiving my updated, eyeglasses' distance, reading, and coming soon, my contact lenses' prescriptions but currently, I was able recently submitting both my distance and reading eyeglasses' prescriptions to VA Mather Hospital; however, Dr. Edgecomb's formulary, medical prescription cannot be filled at the VA Pharmacy due to the pharmacy only carries generic, prescription formulas. Conundrum: Problems, problems with Tri-West, VA Mather, and VA Pharmacy's incompetency is absolutely mind-boggling which Dr. Edgecomb just patiently, "{sighs}!" Regardless, Dr. Edgecomb is now configuring fitting both my scuba and ski mask with eyeglass inserts you may remove should you need replacing either masks-spectacularly ingenious! Thank you so very much, Dr. Corydon Edgecomb accepting me as a VA Medical Patient and especially, for ALL the failures the VA Tri-West subjected you egregiously suffering!

I got an eye examination from him at Precision Eyecare…read more I ordered two pairs of glasses with the Prescription. When the glasses came in could only see what was directly in front of me. While driving I could not read the street signs to the left or right and I could not see anything in any mirrors behind me. Returned both the clear glasses and the Sunglasses. Then when the new glasses arrived the Sunglasses were passable. I say this because I don't do any computer work with my Sunglasses on or really read small print that much. The Clear lens on the other hand still did not work. In the end Precision Eyecare replaced the clear lens 3 times. I tried once at LensCrafters in San Francisco and still can not see as clearly as I could with my old glasses. So I feel there is an error with the Rx. Each time I went in I told the person fitting the glasses I felt the right eye was blurry. I was told to give it time to get use to the new Rx. I have given it a month and still find that my right eye is blurry. With the Exam and trip to pick up the new glasses I made a total of 5 trips the Precision Eyecare and since I don't live in the area will not be spend another $50.00 in transportation cost (gas $41.00 and bridge tolls $9.00) to get a resolution for this problem. Yes, it was not the wisest choice to get eyecare so far from home but at the time I knew I was going to be dealing with family matters in the area for a couple months. Those matters have come to a conclusion I just wish that I ended up with glasses I was even 85% happy with.
