be cautious with dr perkins commitment to follow-up. several…read moremonths ago i had cataract surgery and after both eye surgery were completed, dr mujahid hines recommended having a follow-up appt with dr perkins within a couple of weeks. due to illness i needed to make appt after 3 or 4 weeks. i arrived to my appt. only to told something about dr perkins talking with the v.a., i guess to get permission for the follow-up visit. what he didn't know or even ask about my v.a. status. i am a vet getting services thur the mission act which allows vets that some distance from a v.a. hospital, aka mather, to receive services in the community or did inquire about other payers. i am very annoyed that a couple of month have passed with no phone call to schedule an appt. a note: i am a therapist that worked young autistic spectrum kids. when i committed to calling the family back, i DID just that within a day or two but usually the next day. if i followed the dr perkins level of respect for his clients i would have been a very poor therapist and disrespectful to the families that i worked with. since there is no 1/2 star i will give dr perkins begrudgingly 2 stars. if my comments seem minor then make your appt. but if there are going to be another appts make sure the appt is scheduled before you leave.

I received a notice via snail mail then, I received an unannounced, follow-up call from "Tri-West" to immediately contact Dr. Edgecomb's office for my next optometry appointment. WOT???? Uh~WOT???? WHOA~I had no clue I was being transferred nor did I receive a warning from VA Mather Hospital I was being transferred as Dr. Edgecomb's optometry patient! NICE notification, eh? Anyway, I scheduled my first appointment around the second week of September 2018: To my utter dismay, Tri-West only submitted my name and also, I'm a Military Veteran receiving medical care at VA Mather Hospital . . . Dr. Edgecomb's Medical Staff never received my optometry medical records from VA Mather Hospital equating utter Peter Principle incompetency at Tri-West's finest daftness, i.e., Dr. Edgecomb's and his Medical Staff had to start from scratch not knowing ANYTHING about my medical, optometry history! Dr. Edgecomb was fervently lost when I first visited his office; he had no medical records whatsoever regarding anything about the reasons being transferred as his new eye patient! Dr. Edgecomb: "So~What brings you here today?" He's fumbling looking at two pages of just my name and I'm a Military Veteran looking at his expression on his face appearing forlornly lost . . . DOH! Me: "Uh . . . I need renewing my eyeglasses' and contacts' prescription." Dr. Edgecomb: "Well~I guess I have to start a new examination for you, since I don't have your VA Medical Records." Yeah, Tri-West: How DARE you insert Dr. Edgecomb in the most unsettling feeling of fettered incompetency when Tri-West FAILED submitting my optometry medical records to his office BEFORE MY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT? BEST proactive plan: Go to VA Mather Hospital requesting TEN YEARS worth of my optometry medical records for Dr. Edgecomb's office! Since obtaining my VA medical records, Dr. Edgecomb and his Medical Staff have the ability understanding my optical issues succinctly-finally! It took awhile for Dr. Edgecomb finalizing my eyeglass and contacts examinations receiving my updated, eyeglasses' distance, reading, and coming soon, my contact lenses' prescriptions but currently, I was able recently submitting both my distance and reading eyeglasses' prescriptions to VA Mather Hospital; however, Dr. Edgecomb's formulary, medical prescription cannot be filled at the VA Pharmacy due to the pharmacy only carries generic, prescription formulas. Conundrum: Problems, problems with Tri-West, VA Mather, and VA Pharmacy's incompetency is absolutely mind-boggling which Dr. Edgecomb just patiently, "{sighs}!" Regardless, Dr. Edgecomb is now configuring fitting both my scuba and ski mask with eyeglass inserts you may remove should you need replacing either masks-spectacularly ingenious! Thank you so very much, Dr. Corydon Edgecomb accepting me as a VA Medical Patient and especially, for ALL the failures the VA Tri-West subjected you egregiously suffering!
