My door would not open, so we have been doing it manually. I called Precision out of West Chester and they sent out Leo Cornelius III. Nicest guy you will ever meet. Knew how to fix the door quickly. Felt bad for him because the outside temp was 13 degrees. He worked until the door was working perfectly. That night I realized I forgot to ask him about the remotes, and he was kind enough to call the next day and answered my question without having to schedule another appointment. Called to have a broken spring repaired. I was given 3 quotes ranging from $1000 to $1400 which I thought to be excessive. I did not move forward with them instead I purchased all the parts and tools needed to do it myself for $100 and it will take less than an hour to install. Clear price gouging at its worst, look elsewhere. read more

I felt like I overpaid - the cost to replace both springs, and cables, plus some broken brackets was $1200. Significant upcharge in parts, which is not right. Precision Door Service to the rescue!!! My daughter accidentally backed out of the garage when the door was closing...YIKES!!! the door was totally destroyed appearing and stuck half-opened. In a panic at 9 pm on a Saturday night, I called Precision. A gentleman answered, to my surprise, and offered to have someone come out that night or the next day. We chose the next day, SUNDAY MORNING, and AJ came to our rescue. He was not only amazing at getting the door that was bent straight back in the tracks and even functional. I could not believe my eyes, and just like that all my stress of how to fix the problem in the middle of the winter was solved, since ordering a new carriage style door may take 9-12 m due to all POST COVID WORLD delays. I am very dissatisfied with the pricing from Precision Door. I trusted this company to be fair but I found out otherwise. That being said,I don't fault anyone for trying to make a living but Precision door part markups are excessive. A 110 lb white spring costs $25.99 for a pair at Home Depot. Precision billed me $240.00 for the same spring. A total of 215% markup. The pulleys, safety cable and extension cable also have the same excessive mark up. Pulleys $20 v $140, Cable $15 v $85 and so on. I feel they were dishonest. I have tried reaching out to them and have not gotten a reply as of yet. Lesson learned. Do your homework before a contractor arrives. read more

Over the last month, our garage door was getting noisier, occasionally jamming on opening or closing, and generally being a problem. Called Precision and made an appointment for the next day. They arrived at the promised time, and made a detailed inspection. They shared their estimate with my wife--in fact, three estimates: a bare bones repair, a fuller repair, and an estimate for full replacement. We chose the mid-range repair. They completed the work quickly and completely, and I'm completely impressed by how well it works now. When the need comes to replace it--which it will need in a few years I expect--I'll be calling them. read more

Terribly disappointed. I suggest not wasting your time. I called last week to schedule an estimate to install high lift tracks, new jack shaft openers, and any necessary new hardware on my garage doors. I spoke with the office manager, then the shop manager to schedule an estimate. Nearly a week later when they were supposed to come give the in person estimate, I received a call that they were not interested in doing the job unless I replaced the doors as well. They claimed the job was too involved and would require more hardware, but replacing the doors is a non-starter as they're solid architectural doors that match the house. They did not quote what hardware would be required, and frankly it made little sense from an engineering standpoint as there is nothing that precludes a wooden door to be a high lift, the doors are not abnormally large or heavy at only 9'wx8' high, and the openers and hardware are rated for much more. They admitted it was possible to fit the door with the appropriate hardware [doors which they gladly charged roughly $1500 to change the rollers and springs on just 3 years ago], but were still uninterested in the job unless we changed the doors. There is no engineering reason why this door could not be converted to a high lift, or have the openers installed - I got the impression they just didn't want to the job unless they got to sell new doors too. They offered no alternative, no increased pricing, just a cancelation on the estimate. They wasted my time, and in the end admitted that they were just too busy for a job like this. read more

The lady who answered the phone was professional, took all the details and scheduled a technician to come to my house in less than a half hour. Jasper arrived shortly after my call. He also was professional, knowledgeable and made it clear getting our door working properly as soon as possible was his focus. He gave us an estimate and returned less than 24 hours later with the parts to fix our door. He answered all our questions and finished the job in less than an hour. I needed a new electronic door opener for my garage door, so I called these people. They charged me $85 for the visit and $50 for the new opener. Later, my brother berated me for spending all that money. I could have gone to Lowes, got a opener there and programmed it myself for no more than $10, not the $135 Precision charged me! read more

I would recommend Precision door, to anyone that wants quality work. I was impressed with how knowledgeable the technicians were. Before the work started they told me everything that I needed to know and how they were going to do the repair. When the work was complete I was very satisfied. They even inspected my garage door for any other problems that may occur. They went above and beyond to make sure that my garage door was in perfect condition. If there was an option to rate them at ZERO stars, I would, but the minimum is 1. What an unfortunate experience! We had 1 spring and safety cable for one door fail and the Tech that came out wanted to replaced the entire cable/spring pulley system for all doors. In short, he wanted to door a full re-build of the one garage door. Total Estimate $465.00 !!!! When I told him that I was only interested in having the one spring repaired, he told me that it was company policy to replace both springs/cables. He went on to state that 'we don't want to have to come out here in another year to replace the other spring.' He then proceeded to tell me that the other spring will break in a year. LOL Not sure how we can see that, there is ABSOLUTELY ZERO evidence of any wear/tear or stress on the other spring/cable. I called the guy below him in the phone book and his estimate was for $140 -- for one cable/spring. He stated ... ' we only repair what needs repaired, that company usually wants to do a full re-build of your setup'. Needless to say, I won't ever call Precision again. read more

Service is excellent and they do a good job on repair. They're quick to respond. They do a "inspection" of your garage doors then make a list of recommended repairs for things which aren't really broken. They may be worn but not broken. Just be prepared for that. Their part prices are about 200% over what you'd pay from Depot or online. But, if you want it done right sometimes you have to pay a little more. read more

We did not have to hold or go round and round to be able to speak to an employee. Service man was here today after a call to us to say he was on his way. He even made it here before our appointment. Super disappointed with their customer service. We heard great things about them but couldn't make it past their answering service guy. We initially called Tuesday and gave them very detailed information. We were promised a call back Wednesday. Nothing. We called back Thursday morning to check in, was told "the manager had a bad day and he'll call me back today". Nothing. Called this morning to follow up and try to see if we could speak to a manger but we just got the same answering service man who was no help what so ever. What a waste of time! The spring broke on my 2 car garage door with my car inside.. I do not recommend this company because: 1. While replacing the spring the repairman dropped a wrench on the hood of my new BMW. He replaced the spring and the roller wheels in the door track. 2. The garage door started making strange noises as it went up and down about a month later. I call them to send a repairman out for a repair under my 5 year warranty. The repairman was scheduled to arrive between 12 noon and 2 PM. At 3:15 PM the repairman called to tell me he was running late, which was obvious at this point. He should have called at 2 PM and told me he was running late and would be at least 1 hour before he arrived. 3. At 3:45 PM the repairman arrived and told me the service call would cost me $49 just to come out and look at the problem but the "repair work" would be at no cost under the 5 year warranty. He then proceeded to beat on the door track with a hammer as the "repairs under warranty" 4. The repairman tried to sell me a new garage door opener claiming the sprocket on the chain drive was worn and the cost of the replacement sprocket was a much as a new garage door opener, Since i had installed this garage door opener several years ago I know the cost to install a new sprocket could not be the $400+ he claimed. Our garage door opener has been behaving inconsistently, working off-and-on. When the repairman came for the appointment, he doubted my wife and was fairly rude from her view. She challenged the repairman to inspect the garage door opener. As he worked on it, it did not function as has been our experience, but did not find anything wrong except to tighten a circuit board. I understand that the root-cause could not be found; that's OK. However, I was not happy on how my wife was treated. The garage door opener now seems to not work at all and will be replaced. We will NOT be using Precision for this new install: perhaps Howell or Surburban. read more

I have been using Precision Doors for many years to service and repair my garage doors until the day my garage doors had enough and needed to be replaced. I called Bryan in the office and he gave me a great deal on 2 doors AND he installed them that day! The installation guys were awesome, very knowledgeable and went through all the features with us. They were in and out in a day and they cleaned everything up. I needed to write this review as many people write reviews when things go bad but don't always write something when things go right! I also wanted to mention that a few weeks later, I was messing with the wifi option and app on phone to close garage doors and reset the system and couldn't open my doors. I called Bryan on the weekend and not only did he call me right back, he came over to fix it for me! Great service and thank you.
