I booked an appointment online with Precision and they were able to come out the next day - even though it was a Sunday. The technician, Justin Young, was great! He listened attentively when I explained when the door stopped working. He explained what he thought the problem might be before testing out the door to troubleshoot. He put together three quotes for the repairs - a minimum to get things working again, a larger package to upgrade some old parts since our door motor was from 1998 (27 years ago...) and a full replacement of everything but the door and frame with a 7 year warranty. I told him my priorities and he helped customize the quote a bit further to be what we both needed and wanted and then I was able to sign off and he got to work, with a fully completed replacement a couple hours later! He had everything he needed in his truck and was able to have the new system installed and even helped me reset the universal remote in my car for the new door. I also had another project I was working on while he was working on our motor replacement and he lent a helping hand when he saw I was struggling holding something in place to secure it. He really went above and beyond and I would definitely call Precision and Justin again with any other garage door needs! The new motor is incredible - so quiet and our door moves so smoothly now with the vinyl belt, new springs and pulleys and new wheels on the door. My husband commented that it sounds like our garage door went electric since it's so quiet like an electric car compared to combustion engine. Justin even came back a week later to help install a new bottom bumper piece on the bottom of the door! Very happy with Precision and can't recommend Justin enough! read more

Let me start by saying I spent 30 years in customer service before switching to higher education, and because of that experience my expectations are rather high. I called Precision based on a recommendation and I can say in all honesty I have never experienced this level of customer service and satisfaction. My technician, Mike G, called to say he would be at my home at a certain time and arrived almost to the minute. It was a pleasure having Mike G assigned as my technician as he was nothing less than exceptional. This gentleman took every measure to ensure that this experience was impeccable from start to finish, which included assessing the garage door problem immediately, explaining the problem in detail, and presenting me with options while explaining each one. The new garage door system was installed in less than one hour, which in itself is amazing; Mike then took the time to explain how to use each component of the new system. It is good to know that there are some companies that still believe in outstanding customer service. I have no doubt whatsoever that I will turn to Precision for any future needs. Once again it was a pleasure doing business with Precision, and especially Mike G. You have earned my trust and my loyalty and I will strongly recommend Precision Door Service to friends, family, and colleagues. Mike G did something that few people do--exceeded my expectations! My garage door opener was only 2 years old, and installed by a third party company through Sears. When I called the numbers on my sticker, the company no longer existed, and when I called Sears they kept sending me to yet another 3rd party vendor who was rude, unaccommodating and sounded another "one-man" operation, who lied and claimed he was indeed a Sears employee. Then I remembered having used Precision Garage Door for door repairs years ago. They were responsive (sent someone out same day), courteous and professional. The young man they sent out was Kevin Yates, who was amazing. He patiently explained what he was doing every step of the way, then when it was determined that a "logic board" was needed, he waited for me to call Sears to check on warranty, then proceeded to explain my options. Although I was not happy about the terrible warranty with Sears and had to replace the opener, Kevin was calm, professional, polite and patient about the whole thing. Once I decided to go ahead with the work, he was quick, efficient, competent and helped me set up my vehicles with the new garage door. He switched everything out, lubricated my other garage doors while waiting for me to get payment and cleaned up neatly. WOW, Precision! Thank you! read more

I'm not one to leave reviews but I do believe in acknowledging AMAZING service! We had some issues with our garage motor and figured it needed to be replaced. I found Precision as an authorized repair company via a search on the [garage motor] brand's website; called, and was able to get an appointment for the very next day. We were lucky enough to be assigned Mike as our technician and I could not be happier. He arrived on time and was very polite and had great communication. Mike explained the details about what was going on and was able to point out the details visually - which I found to be very thorough, transparent, and professional. We both agreed that a replacement needed to be done and he got to work immediately. Within 2 hours, Mike had my garage motor up and running even better than it was before with a flawless installation. I must say, my family and I were quite impressed with his work and will definitely be recommending him to all our friends in the area. I don't know if he'll see this, but I just want to say 'Thanks again, Mike! You have made our lives a lot easier and we are quite appreciative.' read more

Mike G of Precision Door did a very professional job of replacing our door opener at a reasonable price and on very short notice. One evening the door opened on its own. None of us had touched a remote control. After research online, we discovered that we had an older unit that wasn't capable of scrambling codes. Probably someone had been cruising the neighborhood clicking random codes to see whether anybody's door would open. Ours did, making us vulnerable to burglary. The only way to eliminate this was to replace the opener motor controlled by the remotes. It's one system. Pressing a remote activates the motor. The newer ones scramble codes to prevent burglary. We assumed that this would take at least two visits. But Mike had what we needed in his truck, quoted a fair price, and did the work on the spot. While at it, he straightened out the door tracks and eliminated an irritating noise we'd put up with for some time. Very professional. read more

My (very) old garage door stopped responding to all remotes:car, hand-held, indoor. Called these folks based on their universally positive reviews and rapidly came to understand how deserved they were. From the initial diagnostic questions they asked to the quick appointment set-up to the reassuring email and text communications prior to the appointment...this is a class outfit geared to the consumer. Ever heard of a technician calling you to say he's on his way and giving you a time estimate of his arrival? Brian was clear in his explanations of his findings, showed me exactly what he found, and made rational recommendations and choices. His installation was done reasonably quickly, followed by explanations and demonstrations of its operation. This was, all in all, a professional, personable, immaculately clean process. Glad I made this choice and to have met Brian, a person of character and ethics. read more

I needed work on my garage doors, and since it was close, I decided to go to the Pompton office and set up an appointment. Hilal took care of me. I was getting assigned Lou. It's a nice operation, glad I opted not to phone it in. Another garage door contractor, I used before, ghosted me. Refused to return my calls. Then didn't show up for the appointment without notifying me. Wasted my Friday. I didn't need to call or check on Precision. Text the night before, text in the morning with Lou's profile, and Lou called when he was on his way. I researched the types of things that go with doors, how to fix it, different issues, and when Lou explained the issues it made sense. I watched everything, while he explained everything. It was pricy, but you get what you pay for. The doors sound like a symphony when they are opening and closing. Thanks Lou! read more

We had a phenomenal experience with this company. The phone system was easy to use when I called, "Jessica" was very helpful when she took my call, and got us scheduled for next-day service (on a Sunday!). Julian Villamor was the professional assigned to us, and he could not have been more awesome. He called me several times to keep me posted about his estimated arrival, and he even asked if my husband and I wanted him to pick up a coffee or something for us on his way to us (which we declined, but it was really incredibly kind and so rare)! He was well-spoken, completely professional, and had us fixed up within minutes. The payment process was easy. The whole experience was incredibly impressive. I would absolutely call this company again for any of our garage door needs, and I would recommend them without hesitation. read more

Truly as good as it gets. Mike P. showed up promptly and shortly after I gave Precision a call to see about changing the sad garage doors on a 1923 Tudor that I recently purchased. Mike is awesome. He took his time, explained all of my options, helped extensively with color samples, and invited me to their showroom (on his time off!) to help me feel more comfortable about what we were ordering. Thanks to his hard work, we ended up with a PERFECT color match to the original wood doors from 1923 - yet the garage doors are steel, require no maintenance, and come with an amazing warranty. We've gotten nothing but compliments from the neighbors since the doors have been put in. I'm still amazed that these doors are metal - they match perfectly and complement the house's upscale feel really well (check the pics!). read more

Brian was the best! Professional, knowledgeable and thorough. He (and one other helper, I can't recall his name) called 20 minutes before arriving and came at the beginning of our 3 hour window. He assessed the split in our (40 year old) wooden garage door and gave us options for repair and replacement. Another company the day before had insisted that the door needed to be replaced, but Precision was able to repair the crack by securing it with brackets, replacing the springs that were too dinky for our door weight and replacing the old rollers. They did the work on the spot and we saved thousands of dollars not having to replace the door, not to mention weeks of parking outside in the winter while a new door was ordered. Seriously so profession and courteous. I would recommend these guys to anyone. read more

Justin did an outstanding job fixing my garage door opener. From the moment he arrived, he was professional, knowledgeable, and clearly experienced. He quickly diagnosed the issue, explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, and got right to work. What really stood out was his attention to detail and commitment to doing the job right--not just a quick fix, but making sure everything was running smoothly and safely. He also made sure to test the system thoroughly before leaving and gave helpful tips to keep it working well in the future. On top of that, Justin was punctual, courteous, and respectful of my time and space. It's not always easy to find someone this reliable and skilled. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone needing garage door repairs. Great service all around. read more

I called Precision Door Service based on the reviews I had read. My issue was faulty security/safety sensors. When I called the office they had an appointment the following day between 10 AM - 2 PM. They let me know that the service call was $69 and depending on the work required, the technician would give me the estimate on the spot. Joel Neri called that he was on his way and arrived 10:05 AM so I did not have to wait around. He proceeded to guide me through the various options available to me and I decided to just fix the imminent problem. The parts were in the truck and after a total of 45 minutes my garage door was working as it should. Joel was polite and efficient. I will not hesitate to call them again if needed or to recommend them to others. Good Job and thanks again. Anders J. read more

Well, as luck would have it, the other garage door went on the fritz a few months later. I called Precision Door Service again. This time Travis showed up the next morning, bright and early, beaming with a smile and friendly greeting. It was freezing outside. We toyed with the garage door, then realized it was cobwebs blocking my safety sensors, followed by a bit of rust on the connecting wires. We replaced the wires, cleaned the cobwebs, then Travis showed how the cables were beginning to break apart from rust. He replaced both and also added new water seals to the bottoms of the doors, replacing rotten rubber that had dissolved after 12 years, contributing to rust Now my garage is (basically) water tight, dry, and the doors work like a charm. Travis Thornton was terrific. read more

The spring and cable on our right garage door snapped without warning on June 18th. After locating several garage door repair businesses we decided to call Precision Overhead Garage Door Service based in Mamaroneck, NY. We were very pleased with the response to our call, ease of arranging service to fit our schedule, and especially the competence of the repair person (Mike Ganning) who notified us when he was on his way, arrived as scheduled, and who clearly knew exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. He had all he needed on the truck. In 45 minutes he installed new springs, cables, and sprockets, and tested the mechanism. His professionalism and friendly demeanor was refreshing! While I wish the repair was cheaper, The service and professionalism still rates 5 stars. read more

I couldn't be happier with Precision! When I called yesterday afternoon, the person who answered the phone was pleasant and helpful and got me an appointment for this morning. She gave me a 4 hour window, so I asked if the technician could call when he was on the way over so that I didn't have to sit home the entire time. In the morning, Leonardo, the technician, called to say he'd be there in about 20 minutes. He was right on time. He was polite and professional, explained the problem clearly, wrote down my options for solving the problem with the respective prices and explained those clearly, as well. Then he fixed the problem, explained the paperwork I was signing and was on his way. I will use them again and will enthusiastically recommend them to friends. read more

We are new in the area and when our door stopped working properly I did a quick search for garage door repair. Precision Door came up with a lot of positive reviews, so they ended up being my first call. They answered the phone promptly and got me on the schedule that afternoon. That was a nice surprise. Francisco Taveras was the technician and he couldn't have been nicer. He diagnosed the problem in a way that showed he really had an understanding of all the various components and potential problems. And, he replaced the unit promptly and professionally. It couldn't have been a better experience from start to finish (less than 3-4 hours from call to end of repair). Francisco and Precision Door is now in my local service provider contact list for sure. read more
