However, the Sinick dentist told me I needed a dental implant after spending about a minute with me, with zero explanations, and their treatment plan was a very large amount of money (over $7,000) I got a second opinion. This dentist spent much more time with me, actually showed me the x-rays, and offered less expensive options such as a bridge that Sinick did not. Additionally, the cost of the implant was less. I have been going to Dr. Petroff since 2005 when I first moved back to the Cleveland area. After my initial exam, Dr. Petroff sat down with me and as gently as she could, gave me all the bad news. I was in shock but she told me we would start with the worst things and move on from there. She also said she would work wirh me on the financial aspect of all this bad news. Because I had no dental insurance she worked out a payment schedule I could manage which was great. Dr. Petroff and her amazing staff are the best that could have happened to me! 13 years later, my teeth ar SOOOO much better! A lot has been done but i have had complete trust in Dr. Petroff and she has never let me down. When my Mom was still alive, Dr. P could see that she had some dental issues but my Mom was 85 at the time so i worried about what should be done. I needn't have worried. Dr. P made a dental plan and then did her best to repare her existing dental work as much as possible to keep th price down for her but still provided the best care possible. She was so kind and gentle to Mom. She made her feel special. I would advise anyone who is taking care of an elderly relative, to bring them to Dr.P. She is also amazing with children! She has what I call the Amazing Dream Team to back her up. Denise at the front desk can work out any scheduling problem and she has the most incredible smile! Georgi is the most amazing hygenist I've ever been too. The rest of the Dream Team are truly the best, most caring people you could find in any dental office. I said no than you and he said we could re-fill it instead. I said I would look at my options. Financial difficulties took me away for a year before I called back in to get the crack refilled. At this point, there was an unexpected 80 dollar charge on my account supposedly for missing an appointment. I called to get it removed, they reduced it to sixty. Whatever, I did miss an appointment. I paid the bill and scheduled appointment. Main dentist is on sabbatical so I got the second guy. I go in to appointment after 1+ year of no dental work and not the best diet, expecting it will probably be much worse bc original dentist said the work was urgent- to hear the second dentist say my teeth look great and he doesn't see a problem. Crack in the filling and recommended crown, huh? I guess that crack sealed up magically. But that's not all. I asked if we could do my cleaning instead since I was already there. They put me down for cleaning, lady tells me the cleaning is 37 dollars because my deductible is $50 and I will have to pay that. Never actually heard that before, I work at a school system and my coverage is Incredible, but $37 out the door, i'm already there, whatever. So I agree, they do xrays, cleaning, no cavities or Any problems, I go to check out and it's $50. Not 37. Lady says she told me it would be, she didn't. She said it was $37 and my deductible was $50 (which is still sketchy bc I have had the same plan for years and Never had a deductible of 50 for cleanings). Thank God I got the only one honest dentist who looked at my teeth while the main dentist is enjoying the profits of this systematic scammage on his sabbatical bc I probably would have owed 2k out the door with the main dentist and his team of quacks. Whether it was purposefully scamming (I reckon so) or an "accidental" misreading of my teeth condition, I really don't recommend this practice At All. You have lost my service forever and I hope I manage to successfully warn away some other poor individuals bc I don't have money to be scammed like this.
