I want to say first, that I am very happy with the care and treatment I receive from Dr. Tomp. He truly cares about each person, and since he continuously learns about nutrition and other holistic health related topics, when he sees me I can ask him about just about anything health related and he is extremely knowledgeable. I have a great deal of trust in Dr. Tomp, which I don't give lightly.
I first went to Precision Chiropractic to see Dr. Tomp about 4 or 5 years ago. I had mentioned to my boyfriend Brian that I get migraines and only recently (back then) had started feeling a very painful pinching in my neck when I moved it certain ways. It kind of came and went but was there a lot.
Brian had been going to Dr. Tomp for over 12 years already, and highly recommended him. I was leery because of a bad experience I had with a standard chiropractor hurting my neck many many years before.
After a year of Brian's suggestions, I finally went to see Dr. Tomp. The first visit Dr. Tomp took X-rays and explained how the Blair process works. I still wasn't convinced, but based on the strong urging of Brian, I went back for an adjustment. I was very happy that this chiropractic method did NOT involve cracking my neck. Instead, I laid on my side and Dr. Tomp "tapped" my neck/spine to get the vertebrae that was out of place, back into place. Then I moved to a relaxation room to rest for 10 minutes. After, I could move my neck without pain.
I needed several follow-up visits which I must confess, I wasn't happy about. Especially when I found out I had to come back in a week, then again in 2 weeks. I wanted an instant fix with no follow-ups needed. But as I learned, the healing process doesn't work that way and there's no magic pill. I had been out of alignment for so long that after being aligned, my body kept trying to pull me back into the position it was used to, which was out of alignment. The follow-up visits weren't for adjustments, they're more for loosening whichever muscles are too tight to ensure the alignment holds.
Now I don't go out of alignment as often as when I first started going which I'm thankful for which means less visits. When I do go out of alignment, I know immediately because I have pain in either my neck or lower back. After Dr. Tomp adjusts me, the pain is gone. I highly recommend him. read more
