When I reached out to Jackie (owner) I got a quick response to my questions. That was definitely appreciated, she made me comfortable and hopeful enough to book an appointment with her. On the day of my first appointment, I nervously trusted her to pencil shape the brows for the service. When she was finished, I did not like the shape. It was too archy and just not for my face. So I told her how I shaped my brows differently when filling in myself and asked if I could wipe it fast and shape it myself. I could tell that rubbed her the wrong way as she quickly got up and gave me an ultimatum. She said she is going to the next client and will be back in a Few minutes and if I wasn't done shaping my brows, she will reschedule me. I don't think rushing a client or threatening to reschedule their appointment is professional or understanding when it comes to having PERMANENT MAKEUP ON THEIR FACE; They at least deserve enough time to be happy with what they will tattoo especially when they are paying a decent amount for the service. I reassured her that I would be done quickly, but couldn't help to feel nervous by the way she reacted when I asked if I could shape it myself. None the less, she came back quick. I left the shop satisfied with my results and relieved that I shaped them myself. She texted me after care instructions along with what to expect as it healed. Throughout the week she responded to my questions and concerns promptly which made me feel like she cared about me as a client. She asked me to put up "an honest review" on Yelp to which I was glad to. However, I wanted to wait for my full experience as I still had my touch up to do in a month. When my eyebrows healed, I noticed one of my brow was lighter than the other to which she explained that the touch up was for this reason. This time she insisted she wanted to book me with her assistant instead of herself. She was accommodating and kind enough to understand when I had to reschedule last minute. This time I had no choice but to take my baby with me. The assistant was so understanding and accommodating and that was appreciated very much. However, I couldn't help but notice how dirty the room was. There was so much dust and hair on the floor that as I put my feet on the table, a pile of hair was stuck to the bottom of my sandals and came to the bed with me (I kicked it off and wondered why this room was so dirty). I started to feel nervous about the whole experience this time. As the wonderful assistant finished one eyebrow and Jackie came in to finish the rest I examined and realized the assistant had made the brow longer than it originally was (that's exactly why I just wanted to work with one person). I had no choice but to match the other one and make it longer. Overall, I was satisfied with the results. As she walked me out to the front for payment, I made sure nobody else was in the waiting room as I wanted to tell her about my full experience. So I proceeded to tell her that I wanted to give her my honest review that she had asked for in person as I didn't post reviews much. I told her how I appreciated her quick responses and how well she took care of me. I voiced how I didn't like the fact that the room was extremely dirty this time and how that as a client that made me nervous about getting work done on my face because safety and cleanliness is a must in such matters. She quickly got defensive and said her cleaning lady didn't show up this week and how she pays her so much to keep her shop clean. I told her I wanted her to know my experience from a client's perspective to help improve her already great business. As I walked out, I couldn't help but to feel like she didn't take our conversation so well. But I knew that my intentions were not malicious and so I decided not to post my review still. As my brows healed this time, I noticed that the same brow was lighter again, I wanted to ask her if she recommended another touch up or what to do in this case. However, I didn't get a response back, that was unusual since she had always responded so quickly and so my initial thought about how I felt like she took our convo offensive was becoming clear. I felt bad and messaged her again and asked if she was upset because I had not heard from her. To my surprise, my phone number was blocked. The messages were not being delivered and when I called, it went straight to voicemail. I couldn't help to feel so disappointed. Did she really block a client because of their experience? Did she not care how my eyebrows would heal this time? I think it's very unprofessional to not be able to take constructive criticism, especially when the client talked to you face to face and was genuine about it. Yet here I am posting it, my true- none exaggerated experience because clearly she didn't care for me as a client after all once everything was done. She didn't even wait to block me after my brows healed this time. read more
