Had Dave change my oil. 60 bucks, in and out. My vehicle never leaked oil before, but it does now…read more Oil is leaking from the filter housing, pooling on the top of the engine, running down the valley, onto a shield and then finally onto my garage floor. I brought my vehicle back to Dave, but his response was that he didn't know if he'd overtorqued it or not, or if it was leaking before he'd worked on it, so he wouldn't replace it for free. His initial offer was that I could buy the part and pay him 100 dollars per hour for 4 hours to replace it. I declined, and told him I would replace it myself if I had to buy the part. On my way out, Dave's final offer was that if I bought the part, he would come in on a weekend and we would both work on it and learn something new together, no labor charge and he'd supply the fluids that needed replaced. I will not be taking this offer. Learned my lesson the first time I let Dave under my hood. Long story short, a 60 dollar oil change is going to end up costing me around 300 dollars worth of parts and fluids, and a few hours of my time.

This guy has a potentially huge edge in the market because he comes to you. He will detail your car right in your own driveway at whatever time you set with him. I talked with him a little bit after he was done and he said he had been a detailer at Al Serra, which is where he learned to do the work, so this is more than a well meaning guy with a vacuum cleaner, he knows what he's doing. He took his time with my vehicle and did quality work, including making way more progress on some stains on the passenger seat than I had been able to make despite my many attempts.
