He didn't take out one tool or do anything at all. After just a few minutes he said he thought I needed a new transmission (the machine doesn't have a transmission). He said he needed to do some research to see if it was cheaper to buy a new machine or to make the repair. I haven't heard from him since. I don't mind paying a trip charge but isn't it fair to expect some attempt at repair or plan of action in exchange? Why would anyone pay to have someone just come and look but not offer a service? Now I've had another company leave a message for me letting him know that it's not from the AC, but the furnace vent, because he will not answer my phone call. Yes I gave him some choice words. It did not fix the problem - the ice maker still did not work. I contacted Michael three times asking for assistance to further address the problem. He did not follow up, nor did he reimburse for the service call. On a related note, I watched as Michael "tested" the water valve. After the fact and when I did my own research on how to test a water valve, I learned that Michael did it incorrectly - he did not place the multimeter leads on the appropriate terminals. When I did it correctly, I found out that my water valve was still functional. In other words, something else was the cause of the problem. I am most dissatisfied with Michael's failure to follow up with me. He writes about his business, "Honesty and customer satisfaction are my number one goal." He did not live up to this promise with me.
