It's rare to see a 5 star business receive a low rating review like this, but unfortunately I had an incredibly disappointing experience, which I feel compelled to share with other homeowners to prevent anyone else from falling victim to their unprofessional behavior and lack of accountability. One of our large casement windows was factory damaged and no one noticed till it started to fog up over the past year. I requested a replacement as it was well within the 20 year warranty period. They asked for picture proof and I provided. I had to keep following up for 2 months because they couldn't provide a timeline for installation. When we finally aligned on a date they notified me within 1 hour of the appointment that they can't come because they had a situation. It's okay, things come up but you're suppose to provide a solution with next steps and not keep your clients waiting for an answer. What's truly disappointing is how Ken handled the situation. No one came to supervise the installation so that is a mistake on their part. Instead of acknowledging their workers' errors, they pointed fingers at me, accusing me of tampering with the frame & caulk. Mind you, none of my windows have caulk between the glass and frame. I'm so confused where that came from. I had photographic proof of the window's condition before and after installation, as well as security camera footage of their technicians using boxcutter and hammer to remove the frame (which I assume is what caused the damage). As a homeowner who had placed trust in American Windows Plus expertise, I was shocked by their lack of integrity and commitment to quality workmanship. A company that truly values its customers would have promptly addressed the issue, taken accountability for their errors, and worked towards a solution. Instead, they chose to evade responsibility and, quite frankly, tarnished their own reputation. Now, I have to live with the unsightly scars of their negligence - visible scratches and awkward caulk on the exterior window frame. Despite providing all the evidence necessary to prove their mistakes, Ken continued to deny their wrongdoing and refused to provide any solution or replacement. I was impressed how she quickly, and accurately did an eyeball measurement as accurate as my calipers. It's a nice operation. The shop looked busy and the equipment looked good and everything was as kept nice and neat. I was just a little disappointed that it would take 5 days to get to my job. But, I'd rather the job be done correctly as opposed to a rushed, sloppy job. In the end it took much longer than anticipated. I admit I was a little miffed, but the tech cut the new mirror almost exactly as the 58 year old original mirror. So all beef was forgotten, but I did pay a handsome price for the custom work. Would I go back? I'd say so, but I'd shop around a little before committing.

My product was never made and I never received a call back to have the measurements retaken so the item could be made. While the office staff was courteous, I am sadly disappointed by the service.

I called Double R to have a storm door installed. The door has openings all across the bottom and was not installed properly. When I complained to Bob Thalheimer, the new principal of Double R, I was told the person HE sent to do the job now has his own company and Double R would not take any responsibility for the poor job. Because the person they sent has his own company should not be my problem. I don't know the person Double R sent or his new company. Double R won't stand behind their work, won't even talk to me about it! After all the years of dealing with Double R, I will never call them again. In addition to paying Double R for the door and poor installation; I now have to pay someone else to correct it.
