Dr. Gregory is a fantastic Chiropractor! I've had experience with a lot of chiropractors in my life due to lower back and neck pain and she's the best. I was skeptical of chiropractors prior to seeing Dr. Amie. She clearly explained what chiropractors do and the process of taking a holistic approach to your health. As I became more comfortable with chiropractic concepts, we explored additional remedies and tools, some that clearly reinforced what I felt which gave me confidence in the results from other tools that pointed to things I didn't think or know were causing problems. I feel truly lucky that I found Dr. Amie! I was in the middle of a stressful move to the Bay Area from SoCal when my lower back went out! Argh.. .I could not stand straight up without horrible pain. So, I had to find a new doctor quickly but I knew NO one in the area. I had no choice but to search online and take a chance. Boy, did I get lucky! Dr. Gregory is great. I had never been to a chiropractor, but a few months ago my back was feeling really terrible from hunching over my computer for too many hours a day, I also thought I had twisted my ankle really badly. Seriously within 24 hrs of my first visit I had most of my flexibility and mobility back. It was great! And, she pinpointed that my ankle was messed up because my shin muscles were all knotted up. I hiked the Lost Coast and came back with a upset hip. I couldn't tell if I needed a massage, a realignment or a new hip entirely. I found Dr. Gregory through Yelp and thought that someone with an athletic background could probably get to the bottom of it. Being a former boxer herself, I felt like she understood my self inflicted injury and instead of just telling me to stay off of it, she taught me how to stretch properly and keep going. When you step in to the office you'll feel welcomed by a friendly receptionist, massage chair, uncluttered/clean waiting room with a foam mat, children's toys hidden away, tea and water. Bathroom is well kept and fresh. Dr Gregory is a great listener. I feel safe in her care. I went in for chiropractic care twice a week for a very painfull pelvic bone pain since the 20 week mark of my pregnancy. Dr. Gregory knows websters technique for pregnant women. Dr. Gregory has been helping me with my sports-related injuries for several weeks, and she's been doing an amazing job. I used to see a different sports chiropractor a few years back, but I felt that I didn't get my money's worth from the twice-per-week visits, and I eventually stopped getting treated there. Despite having chronic issues from running, I held out on seeing someone until I started having more intense pain in various different parts of my body. Dr. Gregory's practice happened to be across the street from my work; after my first visit, I regretted not having gone to her sooner. I couldn't possibly list all the great things about Dr. Gregory here, but here are a few: 1) A holistic approach - Many doctors claim to do this, but Dr. Gregory actually does. She checked out the muscles in my entire body during my first visit, and quickly discovered that my hips were uneven, which was most likely the cause of the pain I had been experiencing for years in various parts of my lower body, as well as the tightness in my upper body. She also identified tight areas and took detailed notes on everything that was going on. During subsequent visits, she would often comment, "Well you mentioned before that you were having problems in this area...," which was a nice reminder that she was taking everything into account when diagnosing issues. 2) Adjustments every time - You'd think that paying for a visit to the chiropractor means you're actually going to get adjusted...right? Wrong. Dr. Gregory adjusts me every time I see her. She works on my crooked hips - obviously, since this is the main source of my injuries - and my head/neck. My mysterious hip pain has gone away since I started getting these regular adjustments, and I feel much better in general when I run. 3) Innovative techniques - Dr. Gregory uses an activator when she has difficulty with manual adjustments (or if she decides she needs to be more gentle). She also uses a drop table, which makes certain manual adjustments more comfortable. She is also a believer in the Graston technique, which is a somewhat uncomfortable but highly effective way of breaking down knots and scar tissue. I've gone through many sessions where she has worked on my problem areas using this technique, and I've always felt much better afterward. In general, she is very good about minimizing pain and discomfort during adjustments (or other treatments). Dr. Gregory never makes me feel like I'm just another patient when I'm in her office. She is very attentive and sincere, and she never rushes with her work, even when there are other people waiting. In addition to treating me, she has shared many useful nuggets with me (stretches, how not to sleep, etc) during my visits. Her office is very casual and she actually engages in real conversations (not just the usual awkward/fake/stuffy doctor-patient small talk). I had never been to a Chiropractor before, but after being in a car accident, I needed to find some relief for my whiplash. My LW had been prior, and assured me that the doctor would not spin my head off or anything bad like that. Dr. Gregory is the BEST chiropractor, she has done an amazing job with me and my three kids. In 2010 we had seen another Chiropractor in Redwood City for a Rear End car accident wich had caused me and my family whiplash and didn't feel any better, we still had back pains. In the beginning of 2012 I was feeling Horrible, with Back Pain, Migraines, Siatica and nerve problems. At this time I had seen my Regular Doctor and my Neorologist for the last two years and they never did anything to help me, but just gave me Muscle Relaxers. So I started looking on line for a Chiropractor and I was reading about the Doctors in Redwood City and that's where I found Amy Gregory Chiropractic Office. I love all the information that's on her Website it is very helpful, I called her office and made my appointment and I was so happy they gave it to me right away. As soon as I walked into Dr. Gregory's office, I felt very welcomed and felt that I was in the right place. She did the evaluations and gave me my first adjustment that day, which immideately felt some difrence. I went back to get my results for my second visit and got my second adjustment by her and I started feeling Better, she was able to work with me on payment plan as I don't have insurance, I can see that she likes working with people and I can see how she cares about her patients. She doesn't just leave us in the room waiting for her and doesn't go in and out of the room like other chiropractors. She is on Schedual all the time, I have never had to wait more than five minutes to get seen by her. I have seen Dr Gregory for about 40 visits and I feel SUPER GREAT, I am so happy I went to her, and a month after I started my adjustments I started taking my kids to her and they as well feel so much better and they love the way she takes good care of their back and other pains they point out to her, like their wrist, elbows and toes. Dr Gregory is really easy to work with and explains everything she is going to do to you. I came in for some neck problems and she took the time to test various nerve/muscle functions and take xrays prior to adjusting me. I definitely felt better after the adjustment. Unfortunately I discovered I must have some kind of anxiety/phobia around being adjusted because I was very stressed & anxious afterwards. I don't think there is anything that could have been done differently and most likely it's just that this type of treatment is not for me. Cannot say enough about this Dr. and her staff. While my visits have not been consistent, when I am in need, Dr. Gregory is outstanding, and has helped an active athlete when needed. Additionally, she is great with pediatric patients. She has helped our son with his congestion, colds and even helped asthma. I went in to see Dr. Gregory last week and she was very helpful the first visit. As I was a new patient, I was offered the new patient special, which "includes exam, consultation, first treatment and a Complimentary 30 minute massage". After my first visit, Dr. Gregory suggested that I come back for my massage because the masseuse was booked. I went back today to find out that my appointment was not made for today, but rather for later this week. I was flexible and let them know that I'd be happy to come back Thursday or wait for an opening tonight. The receptionist kept repeating to me, "I normally don't tell patients that they are wrong, we just try to work them in". When Dr. Gregory finally saw me, we discussed my insurance policy. As soon as she learned about my insurance policy and budget, her demeanor changed and she became irritated saying, "What do you think this is, 1975?" When I brought up the complimentary massage, she was reluctant to follow through with the outlined patient special. Needless to say, I left upset, with a stiff neck and back, and confusion about the 5-star reviews. read more
