Dr ray was such a lucky find. He is clinically very talented and genuine. I have a laundry list of things I would like to see improvement on and he is systematically tackling them weekly. I was looking for a practitioner that could understand what my body goes through from a high stress lifestyle and hard workouts. Luckily, he's a Barry's Bootcamp fan and gets exactly what kind of adjustments my body needs to stay in tip-top shape. His compassionate and relatable demeanor is just a cherry on top. The office is cute, inviting and conveniently located in the Castro with plenty of street parking and snack options around. The front desk is exceptional and welcoming. Dr Safi Chavez and other docs have been fantastic. I had a pinched nerve in my shoulder which was extremely painful; at times I could do nothing but sit and suffer and rest of time was in pain. Went to Ortho doctors. Tried a different Chiropractic office. Then I found Custom Chiro felt better after the first treatment and after 3 I am back to normal pain free life. I appreciated the home assignment exercises so I could make progress on my own and the guidance on exercise and posture to prevent future problems. Great place, always on time, reasonable $, and friendly team. I highly recommend Dr Chavez and the others I saw. read more

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Ray Pulmano at the Castro clinic! I came in with an ankle sprain and a thumb injury that were seriously limiting my mobility, and I was getting frustrated with how slow the healing process was. From the very first visit, he really took the time to understand what was going on, explained the treatment plan in a way that made sense, and made sure I was comfortable throughout the process. What really impressed me was how quickly I started seeing results. After just a few sessions, both my ankle and thumb felt so much better--pain was reduced, and I could actually move around again! He is super knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely cares about getting you back to your best self. I have been seeing Doctor Raymond Pulmano, Receiving chiropractic care for my first time & the doctor has been very supportive in my questions, explaining the treatment & exercises for me to understand what muscle groups we are targeting and why. I presented with was lower neck pain and tension in my right shoulder, I work at a desk job so most of the time of my day I am spent in front of a computer. The actual appointments flyby, I just started my 30s so I didn't feel serious pain, but I came for help as the shoulder pain would effect my sleep. Started coming to SF Custom and seeing Dr. Ray Pulmano at the Fidi location throughout 2019 and then in my neighborhood in Mission Bay during the duration of the pandemic (whenever things were allowed open again). His bubbly, friendly, and humorous personality is one that brightens any day and gets you to fleetingly forget some of the stressors of life while in the office. Dr. Pulmano as always provides great service and we always have fun conversations around travel, work, catching up on all things with life (and my dog). I always feel more energized and more relaxed after our short sessions for 15-30min. Just last year, Dr. Pulmano helped work on a really badly rolled ankle where it was on and off swollen for 6-8 months prior to his office re-opening and after I got back from a long trip southbound for 4-5 weeks last summer. I did not take care of the injury properly, but within 2-3 sessions, I saw significant improvement. I think my ankle was able to improve not just with the sessions with Dr. Pulmano, but also with his "prescribed" exercises that he instructed me to do every morning and night to work on the mobility of my injured ankle. I'd say a year and some change months after we worked on my ankle, I'm about 95% back to how I was prior to the terrible injury. 10/10 would recommend seeing Dr. Pulmano!! FYI and highly recommend this - I always do the warmup stretches on the electronic tables before starting my session with Dr. Pulmano, it is definitely worth a visit here if you've recently been injured or just need to fix a few kinks in your neck, back, or anything on your body. Side note, while I'm sad that Dr. Pulmano will be transitioning out of my neighborhood branch office in Mission Bay, I'm so proud and happy to see his career take off as he opens and owns this branch of the Custom Chiro business. read more

A long time recipient of chiropractic care I struggled to find a chiropractor in San Francisco who provided me with the level of trust, confidence and care I grew to expect and appreciate from my last chiropractor. That was until I met Dr. Ray Pulmano. Dr. P has an infectious energy and instills confidence in you from the moment you meet him. His attention to you and your medical needs is top notch. Dr. P uses care in his practice, takes the time to understand your issues and provides you with details of the care he provided and ways to sustain your results. I generally visit Dr. P for mid and lower back issues, mostly caused by long periods of time sitting in front of the computer and not stretching, and I leave feeling relaxed and full of mobility. Dr. P is very personable, he loves to travel and is an active member of the community. He will have you laughing and smiling at every visit and you will look forward to coming back. Best of all his office team maintains the same level of energy and care for you. The Castro office is located in a convenient area with descent parking in the neighborhood and easy access to Muni. The additional services he provides at his office such as massage and acupuncture are a great addition to his chiropractic care. If you're looking for a trusted chiropractor, look no further. Dr. Ray Pulmano and his team are the ones for you! read more

Not me wanting to gatekeep this place! I injured my shoulder (rotator cuff) a while back, rehabbed it and injured it again. I've had low back pain issues for years and decided to check out SF Custom Chiropractic for acupuncture and chiropractic care. It was my first time trying acupuncture and Dr. Willis was great at explaining everything and answered all my questions during my initial treatment. When it was over I felt so relaxed I didn't want to get off the table. Shortly afterwards I had my initial chiropractic treatment with Dr. Pulmano. I was a little apprehensive at first because I've never had any adjustments done before but Dr. Pulmano is confident, reassuring, and really took the time to understand my pain. The adjustments he did were so satisfying, I woke up the next morning with zero back pain! Highly recommend Dr. Pulmano and Dr. Willis. Will have to try one of the massages next time! Also, bonus points for being willing to work with health insurance plans and accepting FSAs. read more

Dr. Pulmano is the best! I had been living with a couple of somewhat painful sports-related injuries (neck and right shoulder) that Dr. Pulmano had been able to treat quickly and efficiently using both Graston and Active Release Technique (ART) with great skill and knowledge. That was about 2 years ago. Since then, he has treated a variety of other issues, all with the same level of skill and care. His new location on Market in the Castro (5 min walk for me-huge plus!) offers an expanded variety of treatments, including acupuncture and massage. Most importantly, both he and his staff are friendly and caring, and Dr. Pulmano's ability to listen and connect with a patient is top notch. Thanks!! read more

First time seeing a chiropractor. I was referred to Dr. Pulmano to help me with a bad softball injury to my knee and ankle. He was really thorough and explained all of his procedures. He also gave me exercises to help rehab these areas. After a couple of visits, my knee and ankle injury have subsided and I feel way better after coming to this office. The staff is very friendly and Dr. Pulmano has great bedside manner and knows his stuff. Highly recommend to anyone! read more

SF custom Chiropractic saved my legs. A bit of background, I had surgery on my left Achilles tendon way back in 2021 and I developed Achilles tendinitis on my right leg. Legs made of wood basically. Dr Pulmano has worked magic to get me feeling closer to what I was before 2021 in a short amount of time, and for that I'm super grateful. If anyone needs a knot massaged away, or a lingering tightness to disappear, this is the place to go. I love this place, but the only downside is the price! If not for that, it would be a strong 5 stars. It is expensive, but at the same time they do in fact do excellent work. Would definitely recommend to a friend. read more

I've been seeing Kj for a couple of weeks now, and been feeling the relief from my neck and back pain immensely! Would highly recommend!

In February of 2022, I was involved in a vehicle accident and looked for chiropractic care for my lower back and neck discomforts I had been feeling from the aftermath. I immediately thought of Dr. Ray Pulmano. My former Chiro no longer had an office and I was hesitant to go to someone I didn't know or was familiar with. Immediately, I thought of Dr. Pulmano, who I knew from common friends. My first visit with him went very smoothly and he assessed my problem areas and set up a plan to correct the issues. He explained exactly what he was doing and provided at home exercises to help with the care. He was very knowledgeable of his profession and made the whole process a great experience. He is easy to get a long with and has an amazing personality! Many many laughs were shared after the adjustments due to my reactions which made it an easy going experience. I'm pretty sure the whole office knew I when I was in during my visits! For part of my care I also had massage therapy after my chiro appointments. I had these sessions with Dominic! I loved these sessions especially when scheduled on Monday's to just end a long first day of the week with some deep tissue massage and relaxation. Dominic was so easy to talk to and he made my experience very comforting. I'm quite a talker and he always made conversation so easy. After a long day at work or after the long week and weekend before it was good to just chit chat and talk about life. We literally could chat about anything, which made it a nice experience. On the days where it was rough and I was just having a day and just wanted to lay down and relax he made those days just as amazing! He would assure me on of the pressure used was good enough and always listened to me and focused on my problem areas. He was def an expertise in his profession and knew when the areas that need more focus and pressure. Thank You, Dominic! Leslie at the front desk was alway so helpful during my check in process and was always welcoming! She made me feel comfortable during the whole process from my first initial visit, to the sign in and the warm-ups to the actual procedure. She was a great videographer as well and alway brought a great energy during my visits! Dr. Ray Pulmano and his team I was around were A+! I can't believe it's been almost 2 months and I can gladly say that I definitely feel and see the difference from when I initially started coming in. I would highly recommend his services to anyone looking into chiropractic care, especially in the SF area! read more

I've worked with Dr. Ray Pulmano for many months. I have a condition that was worsening - leg and hip pain. When I started under his care, I was limping and sometimes dragging my right foot because lifting it was more painful than dragging it. Under Dr. Pulmano's care, I still have the condition, but I can walk almost normally. Dr. Pulmano is personable and very effective. He is a wonderful chiropractor. I HIGHLY recommend him. read more
