Exceptional Service at 84 Lumber!…read more Last week I called 84 Lumber at least a dozen times, trying to source lumber for a home project. While it's cumbersome to have to call to inquire about inventory, pricing, and availability (where all other stores: Lowe's, Home Depot, ACE Hardware, even Alachua Farm & Lumber have easy to use websites where inventory can be searched & orders placed online for speedy curbside pickup), I understand & respect that local stores have no control over corporate policies-- the team at 84 Lumber in Gainesville really go above & beyond to make things easy & speedy. After my second or third call, both Sarah & Isaac in customer service were greeting me by name each time I called and promptly & kindly let me know the availability and pricing of the lumber sizes I was seeking. They were incredibly helpful, providing knowledgeable and friendly assistance that made my shopping experience smooth & speedy. I ended up speaking with Jeff, the General Manager, about a possible delivery, and he too went above and beyond to ensure that all of my needs were met with professionalism. While they do not accept payment online or by phone (making it a bit difficult to place an order for delivery), Sarah provided outstanding customer service when I came to the store to pay, even staying after hours to assure me that the delivery would be properly scheduled. It's rare to encounter such a dedicated team that genuinely cares about their customers. I highly recommend 84 Lumber for anyone in need of building supplies and great customer service. Big gratitude to Jeff, Sarah, and Isaac for making my experience exceptional! :)

My experience with Jackson Stone Works was extremely frustrating from start to finish…read more In the beginning, Nic was quick to get me scheduled within about a week, which gave me confidence in the process. Unfortunately, that was the only part that moved efficiently. After measurements were taken, everything came to a halt. Samantha, while polite, had very poor communication throughout the entire process. She initially told me my sink wouldn't fit and asked me to find another. I did--twice--only to find out the required measurement had never been disclosed in her emails. After two failed attempts, she offered to find one for me, which I appreciated... but then never followed through. I had to reach out multiple times before she finally sent an option--and it wasn't even the color or material I had originally wanted. At that point, I at least had the correct measurements and was able to find one myself. This alone dragged out over a week, which is unreasonable for something so simple. Once that was resolved, I was told my slab would be ordered. Then I was told the slabs didn't match... then they did... and then suddenly they didn't again, requiring new ones to be ordered. More weeks passed with zero proactive communication. I had to reach out every single time for updates, which is unacceptable customer service. What was initially projected to take around 3 weeks ended up taking closer to 8. And after all of that, when installation finally happened, my stove no longer fit. The installers themselves were very kind, but when the issue was reported, I was told Samantha would reach out. She finally did--Friday after 5 PM--via email, with no apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience. Instead, she essentially dismissed the issue and told me to find a cabinet professional on my own. No accountability, no solution, no effort to help. The same person who spent over a week going back and forth about sink measurements never once verified stove measurements--something that now leaves me with an additional problem to fix. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience marked by poor communication, lack of attention to detail, and zero accountability. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this company.

I approached the first associate I saw and mentioned the workshop. They were not aware of the event. After a couple of radio calls we were directed to the garden center. We were handed a bag and told to sit down and jump right in. It is not instructor led. The project was building a lawnmower. The contraption was to be made with precut wood, coordinating nails and a hammer. The image leading project was not easy to understand because there was no way to guarantee the pieces aligned. I asked one of the associates for help and was told they did not know how to do the project and it was one of their harder projects. The average age of the attendees was maybe 6. After only one parent finishing the project within the hour I was there. I left like others with an unimpressive unattractive unfinished lawnmower. A thought came to me to just finish it at home. I asked for wood glue, and a Red Vest bc my daughter to place her badge on it, and if I could purchase the hammer. This an added to an additional 40 mins to an hour of just frustration. I would not recommend anyone to go to this workshop unless you want to participate yourself.
