I go there all the time for plumbing parts, electrical, trim, paint, and other home improvement basics. Yes, it's more expensive than Home Depot, but that's reality. I have no problem with this. If I want cheap, I'll make the freeway trek to Bothell. I'm happy to pay a bit extra for the convenience of having Dunn Lumber in Kirkland instead of yet another Kirkland condominium block. Dunn can improve by getting rid of the space-wasting Mothership in the center. It may be necessary to address the needs of tradespeople in the mornings. But the rest of the day, it's just wasting space.

I'm really happy to have such a great place to write my first Yelp review about. We're undertaking…read morea major renovation of an old, unmaintained house. One of the most frustrating aspects of remodeling is that pricing for building materials is often fairly opaque for homeowners. There's the retail price, which doesn't seem to have much to do with what the material actually costs, whether it's tile, plumbing fixtures, lumber, or you name it. Trades people pay some other price, and you never know what that is. That's byzantine enough, but then there's pricing for stone slab countertops and tub decks, which isn't even retail pricing, but rather "we won't tell you at all" pricing. Bring your designer and fabricator along or don't bother looking, or else you're shopping in the dark. But at Crocodile, I was greeted with a smile. They walked me through their large selection of slabs, explained how much everything costs, and got me a sample to take home. It was a pleasure to look at their lovely stone collection, get my questions answered, and the price is significantly lower than at the Georgetown places. Highly recommend.

After many years remodeling our…read morehouse, my husband and I realized the quality of the wood Dunn Lumber offers is much higher than other popular places. We don't need to spend hours looking for a wood board that is not bent. Of course, it comes to a price. Since the quality of the materials are usually higher, the price is also higher than other similar stores. But in my opinion it is totally worthy it. Services are also better than other bigger stores. We got a more customized services and people are usually very knowledgeable about the products the store offers. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who cares about higher quality materials and great customer services.

We even went back and confirmed the situation with management, so we expected there would be some effort to make things right. We then asked if we could make an offer on a sink and cabinet, but our offer was clearly refused despite the negative experience we had just gone through. Instead, we were simply told to wait until 9/19 sale. When I asked if they could at least put the cabinet on hold until 9/19, they refused to hold it because there's only a 24 hour hold. At that point, the whole situation felt pretty pointless. Unfortunately, based on our experience, if you put an item on hold here, there doesn't seem to be much confidence that it will actually be held for you. I hope management can take a closer look at how holds and customer concerns are handled.
