I'll do my best to capture why he's the best: Property sale: The first time we met Pete, he provided us with a detailed analysis of the property market and a solid indication of the list price he could list our house at. He didn't pressure us into selling, he wanted to make sure we knew what we were getting into and were making the right decision. This was probably 3 years ago. We called him periodically and asked to touch base and see how the market was doing. Eventually, when we had one of these calls, the state of the market and our personal financial situation aligned on a promising and safe outcome for our family. We decided to proceed. Pete did a phenomenal job of organizing the sale. He helped us get a shortlist of renovations we could do to maximize marketability, and as well his consultant helped us to decorate and stage the house. We were able to improve the look of the place substantially in a short period of time and at a minimal cost, and had it listed within a couple of weeks. Then came the marketing! Pete created market buzz and drummed up interest which led to an offer the Monday after it was listed on a Saturday!! Pete's got an incredible contact list for almost anything you need related to home purchasing, selling, and often renovations. If he gives you a reference, you can rest assured it's a good one. It's incredibly helpful when organizing all of the required events for a home sale and purchase. Property Purchase: We wanted to buy our next home out of the city. Not only did Pete have no issue with travelling far to look at small towns and acreages, he was flexible, competitive and did a great job of valuing and providing advice on the properties we looked at. I purchased a house in the fall from Bryon Howard who was the listing agent. All I can say is that…read morehe listed a feature of the property (Sonos system) and when it was delivered the feature worth $4000 was removed and not returned. I tried to get the prior owner to return it via Bryon to no avail. Also the central vac did not work and the dishwasher would not empty water. I also contacted them to try to resolve this and got no reasonable answer. I moved in one month after closing as I was out of town. I did not realize that would be considered a viable excuse not to address any of my concerns. I closed on Dec 15th and only moved in on Jan 15th as I was away for the holiday season. Byron has since contacted me and apologized for the issues that I faced. I did have several issues and the previous owners did not wish to make good on any of them, which is unfortunate for the selling agent. I had to purchase new equipment and repair the appliances at my own expense. Also a word of advice to anyone purchasing a home, make sure that you mark the Sonos in the inclusions as there is no recourse if you do not.
