    Bacon Cheddar Burger
    Cece C.

It was a decently busy night so there was a wait for our food but we didn't mind since we were able to just catch up on each other's day. Our server was super friendly (as they always are). I got the bacon cheddar burger with Caesar salad as a side. Unfortunately I didn't like the burger very much since it was driiiipping with oil. I mean it has bacon so it's expected to be greasy but wayyyy too much for my liking. The taste is average; bacon made it good but the grease made it not so good However, LOVED the salad it's a basic Caesar salad but it was the perfect salad to dressing ratio! Next, my boyfriend ordered a steak sandwich with tomato soup as a side . His was also a it's good but not at the same time. The steak was more rare than medium rare (not sure if the picture reflects that well) but it was very bloody after one poke. He didn't send it back since he can tolerate a bit more bloodyness but not me flavour-wise he enjoyed it tho. As for the soup, he enjoyed it! He likes tomato-based soups so it's a recommended for him (but would've been better if it came with crackers). Prairie Ink has always been our IT spot to go for random date nights. Even tho each time has been a hit and miss, we love the atmosphere and enjoy walking around McNally Robinson's right after dinner. Always such good finds there!!

We booked in advance and they checked in with our party beforehand, so we were able to let them know about an allergy concern. The staff handled that information better than so many other restaurants we've frequented. Allergies can be a serious concern for a lot of people, and having staff who handle those requests seriously in turn shows an appreciation for their customers. Kudos. The food we were served was excellent, across the board. The pasta was fresh, and the quality of their ingredients and skillful preparation made for a satisfying, flavourful meal. Also worth mentioning, they have a varied drink menu with lots of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options to complement your meal. If I absolutely have to complain about something to be unbiased... Price-wise, well, it's not the Ol' Spaghetti Factory, but you're paying marginally more for quality - ingredients, selection, service - and you're getting it. So, priced appropriately, I would say. Music might have been a bit loud for my liking, but my likings are particular and it was admittedly appropriate for the atmosphere. *If you're weirded out by seeing people experiencing poverty and the related effects of social disorder, understand that it is located on 20th street. If the reality of the human condition freaks you out, maybe go have a plain waffle in Brighton or whatever. Weirdo.

I started with the house baked focaccia bread and went onto my main course rigatoni, goat cheese, mushrooms, tomatoes, greens, truffle oil which they were kind enough to add chicken to. Absolutely delicious. I don't normally do desert but the promise of home made Butterscotch Budino Oh my... what a happy accident to dine here... fantastic Great music and ambience too...

I'm so glad we picked Hearth among 4 places in the downtown area. We walked up around 15:00 without a reservation on Sunday. It was busy on the patio but we were able to score a table in the shade over looking South Saskatchewan River and the promenade. Since our table was at one end of the patio, it was a great spot to people watch too. Everyone from the hostess and our waitress was very friendly and helpful. We placed our orders quickly even though there were quick a few good options on the brunch menu. I had a traditional breakfast and a Saskatoon berry lemonade and my husband ordered yogurt & granola and a long black. When he had told me he would be getting a long black, I had to do a double take in the menu and there it was. I could count with one hand how many places in western Canada I had been to with long black or café allongé on the menu. I was impressed and he said it was very good too. My breakfast was scrumptious with 2 thick pieces of sour dough toasts, 2 plump sausage patties, 2 perfectly fried (with brown edges) sunny side up eggs and crispy and soft potatoes! I ate very slowly to enjoy every bite with my refreshing lemonade on the beautiful patio in a warm & sunny late Sunday afternoon.

We each had a cocktail (they had a great list!) and most of us ordered the house made pasta. The side salad I ordered was delicious and a very generous portion. I really enjoyed the pasta, it tasted super fresh. Would definitely come back again!
