So as I sat…read morestaring at my laptop thinking about all the negative things I possible could to fit into this dismal day, I had a brain wave, let's think about my favourite place on the planet. Alas, here I am. I've been visiting Burgau since I was 2 years old and have been every year since then (twice on most occasions), and despite loving everything about the place - the Beach Bar is just something else. You'll see from the pictures that it's set in a beautiful place, in a beautiful little village on the coast of the Algarve and, as you could guess, right on the beach. The bar itself serves several purposes; during the day it houses beach goers looking for a nice lunch, and ice cream or evening a midday jug of sangria, and by night it's a beautifully decorated restaurant serving some of the freshest seafood in Portugal! My personal favourite here is the Swordfish steak, served with fresh salad and your choice of potatoes, I enjoy it that much I refuse to have Swordfish anywhere else! The king prawns are another big hit here, as is the Piri-piri Chicken! Family owned and operated (by an English/Portuguese family) for it's entirety, the Beach Bar seemingly has the wooing effect on anyone that passes by. Friends families and complete strangest are all caught up in the nostalgia of this place and you're often rubbing shoulders with some celebs that have houses nearby - Ian Rush & Michael Owen to name a couple! It's a big ask to tell someone to book an entire holiday based on one place, however I wholeheartedly believe you'd fall in love with this place (and I don't even know who 'you' are). There's also a nice little restaurant on the side if you find yourself being hungry. Waters are clear & beautiful no litter to be found unlike the beaches back at the states. Tip: come here early to get a spot at the limited parking lot here.

From the moment we made our booking, my husband and I knew this was going to be an experience we…read morewould never forget. At 9am, we met Mika at Dona Ana Beach, where we would be SUPing along the incredible golden cliffs and little dotted islands, weaving in and out of magical caves for 3 hours. The boards were great quality + they provided wet suits + Mika helped give us a debriefing on SUP skills - I finally felt like I knew what I was doing this time! He also used his waterproof camera to take photos of us, allowing us to be fully immersed in the experience. After we made it back to shore, we took a break, allowing Mika to take the other SUPers back to their hotel, and allowing us to enjoy our picnic lunch on the seriously beautiful Dona Ana Beach. At 3pm, we met Mika at the next location where we would be Coasteering..!! My husband was way excited, while I was pretty much way nervous, but Mika really did a wonderful job making sure I felt comfortable and supported the entire time. I can honestly say that I had absolute BLAST and am so grateful to have experienced such a beautiful part of our world in this sort of an adventurously-intimate way. My husband did a few of the higher jumps towards the end, while I happily cheered him on. The highlight of the day was the mesmerizing GREEN CAVE! At the end of the day, because we were in our camper van, we loved the location he had taken us so much, that we actually ended up staying for 5 days! We would have never found this beautiful little cove without them. If you're looking to discover the magic of the Algarve with people who feel like they could be your best friends, look no further than Coastline Algarve! Truly. I literally forgot where I'm and why, it was just the sun, the ocean and our small group enjoying the tour. Nelson did a great job to prepare us for the SUP tour, he individually coached everybody how to cope with the sea conditions. We were smoothly introduced to new SUP techniques while slowly touring grottos where sun light is magically reflected in the transparent water. Besides the equipment the SUP school provides wetsuits, which was perfect considering the relatively cool water of the ocean. Amazing experience and thanks for the beers! We would definitely love to try the coasteering tour next time we are in Sagres.
