In October 2015, I visited Prague for a week. I saw an advertisement for a travel package--airfare and one week's stay at a hotel, breakfast included--for a very reasonable price, and within 24 hours, I had booked my trip. (The only reason why it took so long to book is because I had to request time off work--I would have booked the trip within half an hour if I could have.) I've travelled quite a bit over the past three years (Europe, Asia, and the US), and Prague is one of my favourite trips. It was my first time travelling alone, and I had a great time. I saw and did so much, and there was still a lot more I could have done had I had more time. There are so many other places I want to travel to, but I hope that I will be able to go back to Prague one day. If you're a traveller, Prague needs to be on your list. Summary of what I did in Prague: Tuesday October 20: -Got punched in the face on the metro -Ghost tour Wednesday October 21: -Sandeman's walking tour of the city -Sandeman's Prague Castle tour -Museum of Communism -Sex Machines Museum Thursday October 22: -Prague Zoo -City of Prague Museum Friday October 23: -Terezín concentration camp Saturday October 24: -Sedlec Ossuary -National Memorial to the Heroes of the Heydrich Terror -Charles University Botanical Garden -Museum of Torture -Wax Museum Sunday October 25: -National Technical Museum Monday October 26: -Charles Bridge -Wallenstein Garden -Prague Castle -Mirror Maze -Petřín Lookout Tower [Yelp collections: Europe 2015; Prague, Czech Republic; Cities]

Pro: What an amazing, beautiful, friendly, and relatively under-appreciated city! When talks of European cities ensue, places like London, Paris, Amsterdam, Rome, and Barcelona usually make their way to the front of the discussion. However, below the radar is this Central European gem! Prague, in my humble opinion, is simply too beautiful to capture with a camera and/or contain on a computer. The scenic landscape is adorned with St. George's Basilica, the Old Royal Palace, the Clementinum/Astronomical Tower, Charles Bridge, the Old Town Square, and more! I was fortunate to book an AirBnB that was walking distance to most of these attractions. The narrow city streets and cobblestone paths make the town seem more like a pedestrian town than a driver's town. Also, most folks I encountered were fluent enough in English to help with the language barrier. Con: Like with most attractive places, crowds happen... Bottom Line: Let your European trip take you off of the more popular paths. Visit Prague today!
