At 5.5 km long, it is the longest road tunnel in the Czech Republic and the longest city tunnel in Europe. Connecting the area west of Prague Castle with the Trója district. For me, I was in the tunnel from the airport to the spot closest to downtown. It would be nice if it went closer to the central district but hey, this is what it is.
The Prague area is particularly hilly and mountainous. Having a relatively straight and level tunnel allows the traffic to move a whole lot faster.
Finally approved for operation after several years in "probationary status" which was a political trickery to circumvent Czech law, it is completely free for drivers. Surprising, considering that it was the most expensive project in the history of Prague. Way cool!
