We visited this restaurant last month in February during a birthday trip, it was a Saturday evening after returning from Monte Alban. We were very hungry and it was very hot as it was 88 degrees in Oaxaca. We decided to start with a few drinks. The drinks were ok, a bit sweet and did not taste like mezcal at all or like they had any alcohol. I was very disappointed. We also had a tlayuda which was a decent portion and filling but it was way overpriced. They charge $260 pesos where in other places they charged around $170 for the exact same portion. The only good thing about this restaurant is the view of the Templo de Santo Domingo from the rooftop which was gorgeous. Our servers were also attentive. read more

This was our first dinner spot in Oaxaca and it started the trip off well. We came here after a crazy rain storm with hail. The cocktails were bomb and the rooftop has an amazing view of Santo Domingo. I would definitely recommend. read more

Limited review here. Met up with a friend on the rooftop terrace to enjoy some drinks and catch up. Perfect view of Santo Domingo, wonderful breeze in the early evening, and enjoyable cocktails and mezcal. We had already heard that the food was only so-so, and ate a hearty lunch before coming. Overrated. I had passed by this place several times during the week and was really looking forward to stopping by Praga for some food and beverage. But it wasn't that great at all. When I first went into Praga, I waited for over 25 minutes on the rooftop for service. The servers helped folks at the tables nearby, but didn't take time to take my order or bring me a menu. I eventually went to the main floor (partially as the roof was getting too cold) and ordered Crepes Philadelphia and the local Sangria. While the Sangria was great, the crepes had competing sweet and savory flavors that left me wondering if these crepes were the reason Philadelphia lost the U.S. capital all those years ago... read more

The terrace is nice on a nice evening. And you can find nice waiters. And it often has live music. And that is a good reason to go there. But the menu is overpriced. For the price you pay there for, at best, average kind of food, you can go to someplace like Zandunga and get something incredible. Just sayin'..... read more

I came here with family for some drinks and tlayudas and enjoyed good service and tasty drinks. Don't expect more than a staging area to meet up at before you go out drinking or head to a restaurant. It's good but not great which is actually better than terrible. read more

Super cute place. Might be good for drinks and coffee but the food wasn't great. Nothing bad but nothing stellar.

The pasta was fine and relatively affordable for a restaurant with two dollar signs (less than 100 pesos). However, it didn't impress me. The 4 queso was rather bland. The sour dough toasted bread that they gave us was good. Overall, the food was acceptable and the view from the rooftop terrace was nice. I got bit up by mosquitos during the entire meal though. I ate an elote from a street vendor before I came here. I sort of wish I would've just had that for dinner. This didn't seem worth it. read more

We ordered a drink that redefined a category. Previously we thought sangria a fine drink composed of variations of fruit , wine, and potentially liquor. This place dismissed the fruit and combined lemon juice with cheap rum and probably bagged wine. Unfortunately this attempted innovation, like most, did not satisfy core requirements of a new product: although novel, It did not provide value to the customer and provide a better alternative to pre-existing solutions. Therefore, we insisted on replacing this 'sangria' with a Dos Equis and our night remained salvageable. Come here if you enjoy music as off key as their drinks. read more

We came here because of the favorable Yelp reviews. Yelp, you guys all failed me. I have several other reviews from this trip. This is my only 1 star. Unfortunately we sat had a full meal and tried several items. I will review food, drinks and atmosphere and service. Atmosphere - Three floors. 2 outside. 1 inside by bar. Inside it is incredibly loud. There was a live band making any conversation difficult. We sat in the second floor. There was no view. The plants along the edge really made it difficult to take in some city views. Our waiter did loudly hammer something into the stairs going to the 3rd floor. We never made it to the 3rd level thankfully. As we were sitting there eating our meal someone coming down the stairs literally fell through the stairs! He was injured thankfully but how does that even happen? Also, our seats were uncomfortable. Service - We sat down and proceeded to be ignored. After a longer than acceptable period of time, we stopped a server and asked if we could place a drink order with him. He looked annoyed but took our drink order. He was rude when he took our order and made us fell too uncomfortable to ask for salt (I got up to retrieve it). After the customer fell through the stairs we had what appeared to be a manager take our order. She gave us an 11 piece tapa instead of the 6 piece. Luckily we were charged correctly. Drinks - I asked to have a Mescal drink made with less then normal sugar. I was told that the drinks were made with a pre made mix. I tried 2 and they were the worst 2 drinks in Oaxaca. My lovely lady tried a red wine. It was old and tasted like vinegar. She tried a dirty martini and it was as if it were made with martini mix. The food was no better. This review is long enough. Just trust me when I say avoid this place. We ate great food in and around Oaxaca. This was terrible. They recommended the crepes. They were halfway decent at best. Everything ranged from meh to just bad. Try Marco Polo or even La Santisima Flor De Lupulo (much less formal). read more

We came here per a friend's recommendation. Upon arrival we were greeted, this was a busy night and there was no tables left. This was no issue, a sever immediately said he would find a table to set up for us. While waiting we enjoyed the jazz band playing which was great by the way! I must say that the Jazz playing was an extra star for this review. The service was very attentive and we were pleased with their wine list and food. This is my favorite place in Oaxaca! They always have wonderful live music on the ground floor and both balconies, one above another, are magical outdoor spots to have a glass of wine and/or dinner. When things get crazy nearby in front of the San Domingo Church (tuba bands, school parades, religious celebrations), you can escape here high above the crazy street scene and observe all from above! In the past we came here after dinner because it is one of the few places that serves white wine! Many of the less expensive restaurants serve no wine at all, only beer and mezcal. The expensive (by Mexican standards) places do serve wine. But we like to continue the evening with a second glass of wine elsewhere. This is the best place. Tonight we had dinner here and it was delicious! Tlayuda; my husband had it with steak and i had it with prawns. My prawns had been marinated and grilled & were delicious! Both came with four tortilla filled side quesadillas, 2 radishes and two small, long yellow onions. As the quanity was huge, we both took the 4 quesadillas home to reheat for lunch. The food is great. I had the lasagna and it was more than I expected. I also had the buffalo wings and the taste like the ones from back home. The prices are so reasonable and affordable for the locals. They should come here and try Italian food. If I come to Oaxaca again, I would definitely come here again. read more

This place has a tapas based menu with a variety of classic Oaxaca dishes as well. We ordered the cheese plate which only had three types of bland spreadable cheese balls. The waiter never wrote down our second order and we had to remind him of what we wanted, which ended up being watery flavorless mushrooms with Parmesan cheese. The band played deafening free form jazz the whole time making conversation very difficult and there were plenty of solicitors in the restaurant during our time there. They made us stop playing gin rummy at our table - which we've been doing for months of travel across the US, Europe, North Africa, and Mexico, without a single complaint. The food and live music was mediocre. Clearly a place for tourists only. Claim to be a wine place, but offer no white wines. If you plan on having a drink with your friends for the afternoon, this place is great. They have large umbrellas so you can enjoy the view on the Cathedral and on Ignacio Allende Street whether sunny or rainy. They have a good selection of drinks and tapas. read more

The rooftop deck is absolutely worth visiting. There's a stunning view of the cathedral that's gorgeous to see in late afternoon and as the sun begins to fade. I can't vouch for the food, but we visited twice in 2 days the last time I was in Oaxaca and had a wonderful time sampling various mezcals and soaking up the glorious atmosphere. be wary about this joint, look over your bill carefully,they love to add items you didn't order,they try to charge you for things like lime slices for your drinks,etc. on a busy night they will say they can't change your 200 pesos bills,you have to chase after them to get your change! they just hope you forget all about your change. guy out the door selling tamales on the street can change but they can't !! good live music. but seems all the staff are in on the scams. never set foot in this clip joint again. read more
