I found the physician to be extremely egotistic, controlling and condescending, especially at critical points in therapy. I was actually told "do you really think you are OK? by Dr. Roybal whose job in my opinion was to say "you are going to be OK I am here to ensure that." Then to charge a fortune for this type of treatment is just far beyond acceptable. I will also agree with other reviewers that the costs of the clinic are extremely expensive for the potential of treatment that may be required. 18K per month was required during my time there. The insurance billing process is a nightmare as others have stated. One definitely feels a few weeks into your treatment as if this clinic really is all about putting money in Dr. Roybal's pocket. A strange feeling of preying on the weak. Very sad. Also this is an outpatient facility. As a clinician myself, I would highly suggest that anyone going through a drug healing process would be better off finding a good therapist, following an appropriate slow taper schedule with supervision, a good massage therapist, chiropractic neurologist, acupuncturist, and seek out solid nutrition protocols with meditative exercises like yoga, tai chi, qi gong and meditation. WAY more cost effective and likely, far superior results.

Since I would not move…read morefrom the East coast to care for them, my parents utilized my 2 West Coast siblings both male. I had just started a job out East, and finally was able to fly in exactly 24 hours before she died. I was horrified at the size, dinginess depression of her " room". It was not clean, nor orderly- - like a middle income hospital room. Horrific! My siblings had flown in 3-4 days earlier looking for documents then left 2 days before she died. Mom had colon cancer her last 6 months and completely set up her hospice directive to remain in her apt at the end. She was the Office Mngr at the Scarsdale Medical Clinic and also had been their chief medical insurance mngr for 20 years. They lived in the Heathcote section of Scarsdale from 1958 to 1980. Dad was at Einstein. Years earlier mom had POA of Dad's elder cousin and had spoken up often re all inconsistencies problems with the cousin's care to mngt at the Care Center. She was not popular with them. Her last 3 months were terrible. They completely disregarded her directives and placed her with another woman in a tiny room. Three feet to a separating curtain, barely enough room on three sides. The fourth side with just enough room for 2 chairs. She never was in her own beautiful apartment as written in her hospice directive.... she was 100 % lucid, cognizant ( could not speak) to the end. She was having problems breathing through her open mouth, so I had the one ( male) nurse who had to monitor 2 floors solo in the Care Center, come and suction out her mouth/ throat. The rest of the staff were nurses aids. He rushed in, definitely not happy. Grabbed her hard, fast , lifting her under her head with one arm ( feet off the ground), then forced the nozzle into her open mouth suctioning for what seemed like forever! So long I felt she could not breathe! She also had a terrible fall 1 -2 years earlier and almost cracked her neck. So her neck was still fragile. He finally stopped and left. Her formerly peaceful breathing was now very very weak and she died an hour later. A COMPLETE horrific nightmare! Dad had an even worse ending 3 years later, also in the Care Center. He was living too long, over 103 years old. They decided to move him out of memory care where he had been over 3 years, into the final stage at the Care Center. He was very very healthy ALL his life, a doctor. The doctor prescribed him a medication and in 3 weeks he lost 25 pounds ( very tall, very thin always) and he suddenly died shortly after. I was informed of all this after he died. You MUST must have family locally who visit often....

A view through the glass doors reveals a beautiful fountain courtyard where recovering patients can walk, relax, and sit in covered areas. The Physical Therapy department has an outstanding reputation for helping patients regain balance, strength, and mobility. Progress notes and medical records are kept in thorough, detailed order. I was very impressed with the physician assigned to my care. One of the first things I look for is compassionate, caring, and helpful nurses and staff. I found this to be true in most cases. Daily activities are thoughtfully organized by an excellent activities director. Nothing is perfect, as some might say, but it is important to look at the whole picture and decide what matters most to you. My positive first impression began when I met Sherwin, the Admissions Director. He worked hard to coordinate everything and genuinely cared about my needs. His assistant, Stephanie, was also very supportive--together, they make a great team. I observed many staff members who truly cared. As the saying goes, "little things mean a lot," and when you are sick or injured, those small acts of kindness can make a significant difference. Your choice of facility is very important. Thank you,

Mark is a focused, but empathetic, force in helping folks address what ails them. I'd thought I'd come to the end of my PT experiences with my Knee Replacement and, most recently, a Shoulder Replacement, but then got referred to work on my spine. Mark is an encouraging person who explains both the big picture, and the specifics of the attack plan to get better. He is also creatively flexible, responding to feedback from patients to craft a more effective workout. Mark flipped my disappointment with having to go back to PT, into a renewed motivation to address my spine, and to incorporate the weak knee and shoulder into continued strength-building and range of motion improvement. Mark's treatment team (the folks who set up the exercises, help patients do the exercises, and help patients maintain success momentum) are Jett, Miguel and Matt. These are the guys who help me get my form right, transition between exercises, and generally help with whatever a patient needs to excel. They are upbeat and full of energy, as well as perceptive enough to help patients fine-tune details of their performance. They help put each individual's plan into action; they are where the rubber meets the road. Last, but definitely not the least, is the Huge Smile patients see when they come in the front door: Mareya. She checks everyone in, and gets everyone organized for their sessions. Rachel left us all behind and took off for school in Michigan; good luck! I recommend PRN PT without reservation. They are professional and always have their patients' improvement in mind, while balancing any other physical issues patients might have. They are not only great at what they do. They are great people, too!

Yousef is very knowledgeable and extremely qualified. He is kind, careful and gentle but pushes when necessary. Explaining everything and why it is necessary. All the physical therapy techs are really good at setting up and explaining each exercise at the machines. Call out to Miquel Physical Therapy Tech. He has incredible interpersonal skills, remembers clients names, always scanning the room to make sure all clients are rotating through the exercises. Miquel Jumps in continuously helping all clients and explaining precisely what is required at each exercise station. If he sees that you are not doing proper body mechanics he steps in showing the correct way for maximum benefit and preventing an injury. Miquel is very detailed and professional. I would highly recommend PRN Physical Therapy to anyone needing PT. If I develop a problem or an injury in the future I would never go anywhere else except PRN Physical Therapy.

This review is for billing, not for patient care, which is excellent. I hate even having to write…read morethis because Scripps has been so great to us for 26 years. But, when it comes to incorrect billing, something needs to be said. Scripps Health billing agency does not understand patient billing when it comes to primary and secondary insurance. After having a round with the "I don't like my job rep," in December, I was told to call Anthem. Which I did. And....Anthem went over every charge from Scripps and noted that we are being over-billed by Scripps. Today we got a call from their collections agency saying we owe more than $1,000. We disputed that on the phone and via writing. According to Scripps MyChart, our patient balance is $0.00 for all the dates they gave us. In fact, we owe nothing on our most recent statement. Scripps in-house accounts receivable does not seem to coordinate with their outsourced Los Angeles-based billing company. The billing "department" appears to have absolutely no "skin in the game" in regards to patient satisfaction and helping sort out billing errors. They emit a low-level vibe for caring about Scripps' patients. I have 4 photos showing $0.00 balance owed. I have an email from Anthem stating all is good for pay-outs. Hopefully, a Scripps in-house staff member with authority to discuss our situation will see this review and act on it. Be great if an executive-level person in accounts receivable or even the CFO, would reach out.
