I need to say that I have used this dry cleaner for 22 years and their quality has always been good. Sue at the front desk is a sweetheart and has once rescued a Cubs jersey from some serious mud. However the other day I was met by a very angry and disturbed manager when I was inquiring as to the mask policy - as we all know we are in a pandemic with a mandate that businesses that are open are required to mask: customers AND employees, in order to have the privilege to be open. And dry cleaning not being an "essential business" is lucky to have their doors open and receive business right now. I am glad to bring them business but was disappointed that there was no sign, the young woman up front was not masked and the angry man from the back defended their no mask position and wrangled me that I was not welcome to return. Frankly, I contracted COVID at a local business from an unmasked person and passed it on to my 87 year old mom who could have died, so for businesses to be so careless and disobey state mandates - I was compelled to write a negative review. Normally, again, SUE is wonderful, she gets 5 stars (she has been masked lately, thanks Sue!), but just the attitude of this man - not the manager or owner, but the man in charge at the time, was unbelievable. First, I wasn't going to take my rugs to PR because of the Yelp reviews but all the other dry cleaners in paso kept recommending that I do. I am so glad I did! I had two extra large oriental rugs that needed to be cleaned. The cleaning directions were horrendous and no other cleaner would even try. It was either throw $600+ away or try to clean them. As being a young(er) local business professional, certainly dressing to impress has and will continue to be a necessity. I have relied upon this establishment on multiple accounts to launder my more delicate clothing items. After the encounter I experienced today my reliance upon this establishment will likely stop. The details of the visit: - I came in around 5:30 on a late Monday afternoon on 1/27/20. The middle-aged older female dry cleaning attendant lady was inhospitable and outright snippy and crass in her disposition. To be fair, it was late in the day, but all things being equal, I just completed a 9-hour work day too and I still made my best effort to be cordial. I had never seen this lady before and maybe she works in more of the BOH operations were she should just be kept full-time. I should point out that I have dropped off before and a 2 or 3 day turnaround on clothing has never been an issue. Apparently, according to cranky middle-aged lady, that qualifies as a timeline of the items being considered "rushed" for which a 20% surcharge is applicable upon said request. My takeaway is the new norm is a minimum 5 day out completion of rendered services. She couldn't even quote me an accurate estimate. From the cranky lips uttered: "I don't know for sure, but off the top of my head, for example if it's like $5 / item times 2 with a surcharge of 20% then it looks like the total would then be 12." Like thank you ma'am. I went to collage too and nonetheless have a calculator or can compute basic math in my head. What I would hope for instead is better familiarity with what your actual rates are and a friendly disposition. At any rate, I will be there on Wednesday to pick up my dry cleaning, pay the 20% surcharge and probably not return. I hope middle-age unfriendly lady starts to have a better 2020. read more

They are super super nice and so I kept going back even though our dry cleaned items kept coming back with severly damaged collars and puckering. I'm finally saying no more after packing my husband's suits for a businesd trip. Every shirt collar was so poorly pressed with the material damaged, that I had to buy new shirts. The suit coats were the same along with puckering and damage to the material. I also noticed that most of the cuff buttons were broken on jackets and the pants. I gave way too many chances and after seeing the extent of damage to relatively new high quality suits, I had to yelp. read more

After 3 of my garments were returned damaged, the owner had the audacity to ask me if I purchased my blouse from the half off rack, rather than apologizing. I can appreciate that mistakes happen, but what I cannot tolerate is the complete lack of customer service that followed and denial that the stains were even present. I have never been treated as rudely as I was by the owner. This is not a local business worth supporting and I will not be going back. New business in town. I didn't see any Yelp Reviews so I thought I would take a chance. They actually did do a pretty good job dry cleaning but there are some serious negatives. 1. They staple the cleaners tag into your clothing. I dont know about anyone else but I don't enjoy having my expensive garments treated like they're pin cushions 2. They close at 6PM This can be pretty early for a weekday when many fols don't even get off work until 5:30 3.They're slow. I dropped clothes off on a Thursday and was told they would be ready by Tuesday. In Closing this is a new business they cleaning itself is good so hopefully they can iron out the details. I cannot believe the reviews for PR cleaners! They are outrageous. I have been taking my my dress shirts, pants, etc... To this place for years and have nothing to complain about. Fantastic people with fantastic customer service. If you are not snotty and difficult you will have no problems here. Need your items taken care of fast? No problem PR cleaners will accommodate, just as long as you let them know. Not to mention this is the home of the 12:00 steam whistle that makes Paso Robles feel like a real community. I am very slow to leave a negative review and much prefer to leave favorable reviews but in this case I feel a need to say caveat emptor to anyone looking for confidence in a cleaners. I've gone to PR Cleaners many times but last week was the last time. For instance, last year, I took 3 brand new shirts there to press out the packaging creases. All three came back with the collar point tips threadbare, like they were old, worn out shirts. Those shirts are pretty much shot. Also, a sport coat came back with the lapel terribly wrinkled, like the person pressing it didn't even look at it. Last week I needed a quick clean and press of a suit and when I went to put it on, one sleeve cuff was pulled inside out in a real funky way and I had to really work to get it to lay somewhat properly. Not only that, but again, the color of the collar point was worn off leaving the tip white. It's a $700 suit and the first time it's been cleaned. Needless to say, I'm not willing to pay to have my nice clothes ruined. Sorry PR Cleaners, but something needs to change, as this is a recurring pattern. read more

It is hit or miss with this place. As others have pointed out, the turn around time is pretty long. You can expect to leave your garments for about a week for any type of service...including pressing. Two weeks ago, I dropped off two dresses--one was brand new and only needed pressing or steam and the other was for cleaning. I returned a week later as instructed and paid a $22 bill, but both dresses were still wrinkled. As one was a bridesmaids dress, I asked them to please re-do them. No problem said the lady at the counter. I was there on a Friday, she said to come back on Wednesday to pick up. I also dropped off two more dresses for cleaning. I was not able to return until the following Friday (wedding was on Saturday). The woman who helped me at the counter said oh! Those are not ready yet (without even looking up my order)! I pointed out that they should have been ready on Wednesday and this was Friday. She seemed annoyed that I was questioning her. She responded "I don't have an answer for you." She looked up the order then went behind the scenes. She returned with ONE of the dresses that had been there for two weeks and the two I had dropped off on Friday. Luckily for me (and them) the dress that was ready was the bridesmaid dress. I asked her to give me the one that had not been pressed as well, paid a bill for $26 for the cleaning of the two additional dresses and left with my partial order and completely unsatisfied. I won't be back. I will be shopping around for a new cleaner! I recently went to a cleaner in another town and dropped off a dress for pressing. It only took one hour and cost $3. I'm looking through some of these reviews and I simply can't believe it. It seems like people look for things to complain about. I have never had a problem with this establishment and I've never seen anyone else have a problem. The front is run by a sweet elderly woman and a nice young lady, and they're always helpful. On top of great customer service, they can get a stain out of anything! (At least everything I've brought in) They have great customer service from front to back, and I've even been able to even order linen out of the back! I'm a guy and going to the dry cleaners is not my thing so I'm not an expert like women are supposed to be. Nonetheless I've taken about 10 items down there to be dry cleaned and couldn't be happier. No problems at all. I get the holes in my sweaters and other tailoring needs done by Mrs. Bozo on 13th across from Vic's Cafe and then have the stuff cleaned by Jason and his crew. I'm on my way down there now to have some jackets cleaned so I'm ready for winter if it comes this year. They have great pictures of old Paso on the walls (Jason, get some more and put them up) and best of all PR Cleaners is the home of the noon steam whistle. Having recently patronized PR Cleaners for the first time, I was shocked when I picked up 6 small arm-chair covers (approximately 6"x12") and was charged $48.75! To add to the insult, 2 of the covers for our sofa had been bleached/lightened in the cleaning process and no longer match the sofa. Will drive 10 miles to my former cleaners rather than 1/2 mile to PR. Be sure to ask before you drop! Still in shock. read more

Never wrote a review on yelp! However I felt this time it was necessary! The young couple that took over the long outstanding business are divided. The wife wants to take care of the customer and the husband wants to fight them. His actual comment to me was get the hell out of my store tough guy. The reason why he said that his elderly employees thinks i've got something for free. When actually the last time I brought my clothes in and they came in without stains when I pick them up they were stains. The elderly lady told me that I'm pulling some kind of scam to get free laundry. Apparently she must think I don't make enough to afford having my shirts dry cleaned. I went to pick them up the second time the wife of the business took care of me and I told her what happened. She asked me to bring back the shirts and she would fix them so I did. When I came back to pick up the two shirts they had to redo +2 new shirts the elderly lady got mad at me again and said I was trying to get something for free. I asked to speak to the owner! at that time the husband comes out and said I cannot be upset. If I'm stay upset that I need to leave! I said I was just accused of stealing. And his responses get out of my store tough guy. All this problem began with this lady thinking I done something when I had not, she's been there way too long and needs to be let go if they want to continue doing business in this town! please DO NOT go there they don't deserve anyone's business. I feel sorry for the wife that she has somebody that acts like that to there customers. The crazy thing is he wanted to get physical with me over me complaining about his employee. He actually told me to meet him outside and will deal with out there! Very scary. I will not return. I hope the wife reads this because she actually tried to take care of me. I did lose my temper after being pushed into a corner. For that I apologize but I was treated Unfairly! Once I got home the shirts that I had taken him to have them redo they never even done it. Sadly I agree with the negative reviews here - I wish I read this before sending my clothes here. I live right down the street and this is easily the most convenient dry cleaners but I won't be sending my clothes here again. My favorite pair of black pants came back totally faded with what looks like white water marks all over the pants, and I was never alerted about this mistake until I took it off the hanger when I got home.... I set out to find a new dry cleaner spot and am a big fan now of Plaza Cleaners on Niblick, in the same complex as Albertson's and CVS. (All my clothes have come back perfect from Plaza Cleaners, and in fact I called them just the other day to ask if they do alterations and the wonderful lady there said they do, but they send out their alterations to another company. I asked if that meant it would take a while to get these clothes back, and she then suggested I can go directly to their alteration partner - how nice is that! She could have made a sale off of me, but instead chose to help me out by directing me straight to the alteration company.) No to PR Cleaners for me. Yes to Plaza Cleaners. read more

being a first time customer I asked if they provide same day service they stated no, but I could have my dry cleaning the next day after 3pm. When I arrived the next day the total amount came to $184.14 for 21piceses. I asked why so much, there employee told me because I asked for special services which I never did all I asked for was if provided same day service. When I dropped off my clothes I was never told about any extra charges. I had the opportunity to speak with the owner she gave me the same explanation. I asked her why wasn't I told of any extra charges for next day services, her reply was that her employee must have overwelmed with all of his other job duties. I suggested she give me at least $40.00 credit and I would definitely come back and do business with her, she gave me $11.00 back in cash. I will definitely not be back, as a new resident to the area I am so disappointed in their customer service. My suggestion for them is to post their prices, and a sign to let us as consumers know of any type of upcharges. read more

I had 3 basic dresses and a sweater when I went to pick them up I was slapped with a $60 bill which included a $10 energy bill what is that you ask I DONT KNOW and no other cleaner in SLO county does either. When I questioned the supposed owner he became extremely aggressive towards me yelling at me in the lobby he was attempting to intimidate a 5 foot 130lbs female! His behavior was atrocious and I cannot even believe he is still in business. What ever u do, do not use this establishment. BEWARE!!! I took a Brooks Bros white linen skirt in for dry cleaning. It had a spot on it, maybe coffee. Asked for same day. No mention of extra charge for this. Picked it up later in day and the stain was still there and they'd done a horrible job of pressing. I asked them to re-do it. Two days later when I picked it up, a 1/4 of the hem was ripped out, the original stain was much fainter and it had a NEW stain. The owner came out and was rude. Scolded me for not knowing coffee was acidic. Like that matters if I know or not. They're in the cleaning business not me. I explained that I shouldn't have to pay the premium charge for same day special since it wasn't done properly. A clerk told him I refused to take my garment. Daaa, it wasn't pressed right and the stain was still there. So I told him I thought it would be good business to tell new clients of the extra charge because his wife didn't mention it when I dropped off the skirt. He got really defensive and kept repeating to give me back my money. He told me he didn't want to discuss the matter any further and that it was HIS business. And he mocked me when I told him that my skirt had a new stain. He would not make it right. He just wanted to give me back my money and have me leave. Very poor customer service!!! Can't believe his family built a long standing business with customer service like that. Don't think he will be able to. His prices are high and the work is very poor. I will continue to drive to SLO for my dry cleaning needs as I've done for the past 5 years. Beware!!! read more
