Working with Amber in the office to get scheduled could not have been more simple. And then when Lalo and Andrew's crew came out to do the installation... it was phenomenal! They were so sweet and respectful of my home. They arrived on time, did a truly amazing job, and cleaned everything up neat and tidy. The work was done perfectly. Seriously - it was all top notch. I would recommend Tri-State to anybody and everybody. They are the BEST.

It's been several years since Very Good Home Inspections provided our new home inspection. The…read moreinspector notated a few relatively minor issues that the seller addressed, but then commented to us that our house was "one of the best flips he'd ever seen." We asked tons of questions and followed up, and based on the reviews here referring to VGHI's trustworthiness we felt comfortable buying the home. It turns out that was a mistake. We immediately started seeing issues. We've learned that none of the flip work was permitted or inspected. While I understand that home inspectors don't typically pull permitting, the incredibly shoddy work done by unpermitted flippers was completely missed: our HVAC had no condensate pump and no filter. The electrical box had to be entirely replaced and nearly burned down our home. The The basement rooms are a full 6" too short to actually be considered living space according to code. The roof was unfinished. I could go on, but we've sunk an incredible amount of money into a home that got a rave review from the trusted professional we hired to in some way safeguard us from this. A home inspection can't be expected to perfectly catch any and every hidden issue with your home. But if it catches literally none of this, what's the point in having one at all?

Because we are teachers, it was important that the work was completed during the summer, before we had to head back to work.  We were told, no problem, that the whole process would take 1-2 days tops, and it would be completed in the next 2 weeks. After 2 long, frustrating months, the work was finally completed, and we would not recommend this company to anyone. Here are the issues we faced: -Materials were not delivered when they were supposed to be. -On multiple occasions, we were told people were coming to do work, but then they wouldn't come, and even when we called/texted to see what was going on, we wouldn't hear back for a few days.   -The work was not completed in 1-2 days.  They had to come 3 different days to demolish/install, and another 3 days to fix the shotty work that was completed previously. -They ruined our ceiling and window frame and left it like it was our problem to fix. -The caulking was sloppy and even had a huge glob inside the shower that wasn't smoothed out. -The shave bar was installed an inch off the floor, so we had to have another one installed above it, so it actually served a purpose. -Water sprayed out all over the floor when it was "finished" because they forgot to add the rubber strips that keep the water from spraying out below the doors. While we understand that materials are sometimes delayed and beyond the company's control, the lack of communication and sloppy work that was completed was shocking with all the positive reviews we read before using the company.   This company did recognize our ridiculous experience and gave us a whopping 5% discount, but that barely made a dent in the thousands we paid for a new shower.

They were very respectful of our furniture and took great care moving it around, and restoring it. They worked with, smooth, harmonious precision. Their attention to detail resulted in a perfect installation. No surprises. These crews have been there a long time and they know what they are doing. This is the right way to run a business. He followed up consistently and even completed the work on a Saturday. I had a question about the floor, and he came out again (from Brookhaven all the way to Exit 13, before heading to Dunwoody) just to make sure everything was right. He was amazing in every aspect: the quality of the work, communication, timeliness (I was the one running late, and he was so gracious), he is just kind and easygoing, so knowledgeable and his patience with my payment and all the details I asked about. He's a true professional. If we ever switch to LVP in the future or need additional repairs, I wouldn't hesitate to reach out again. Thank you, Herik, for helping me on such short notice. As you can see, he achieved a perfect floor match--even though the previous stain was a blend of three different Minwax colors. The floor he worked on was engineered wood and it had already been refinished at least twice and was damaged due to water underneath that caused it to warp. The damage was so bad the crew had to dismantle the 2nd story porch from the ground to ensure they were not in danger. Nick and his crew explained ever step of the process and ensured that we understood all the work being done. They made major upgrades to the the structure of our porch and even suggested a system to capture the rain which was within budget from our insurance company to ensure we didn't have this problem in the future. The crew was very friendly and made many accommodations for my wife and kids to ensure their days were not interrupted or disrupted as they are home schooled. There were many occasions my girls would go outside to "inspect" the work and the crew was very kind and playful with them. We really enjoyed all the guys and their polite and friendly nature. Nick was also great when it came time to work with the insurance company. He helped me to get the right pictures i would need to support my claim and was there to help point out areas where the issue was water damage and where it was just a really bad repair job from a prior contractor (before we bought the house). This was all validated by the insurance adjustor who came out and confirmed everything nick showed me which allowed me to not be surprised by my insurance companies choices in what could and could not be covered.
