When I showed my watch to one of the associates, he admired how unique the bezel looked and commented on it. You can tell the employees here are passionate about jewelry and watches. While I was waiting for my watch battery to be replaced, I took a quick look at all the gorgeous pieces that they have at the store. I noticed unique antique pieces as well as gemstones and diamonds. A gorgeous pink tourmaline piece caught my eye and I fell in love with how unique it looked. The next day I found out that the ring had a spot on the metal and I brought it back where the amazing jewelers fixed it up! I needed something special for a birthday that would also be used for an upcoming wedding and eventually I found exactly what I was looking for. Never any pressure. We discussed pricing and they wrapped it for me. And the gift...her eyes were wide as saucers when she opened it, and she loves the earrings. Great experience and I will come back here for other items in the future. It is worth the visit if you are looking for high end jewelry.

Voicemails weren't returned. I got a hold of someone 2.5 weeks later who said it wouldn't be done until late August. In September, after receiving no call, I reached back out. Michelle could not find my file, and when she returned my call said it would be several months because the battery was on back order I reminded her that they had my watch since June...so magically when she called back 2 hours later, it was done. At the store she was very dismissive (I wanted to know how to care for the watch and what they had done to it) but she talked in circles, clearly not knowing a single thing about my specific item or repair and caring more about the other customers in the store. She also "forgot" to give me my credit card back, as she charged me in the back office, and when I asked to take the watch home in its plastic baggie she said "nope! This bag is ours." Really? For fine jewelry you've had for half a year? Once home I realized the scratch hadn't been buffed out at all and the battery doesn't work. $105+ and 6 months to do nothing but replace a band. I chose this place because of the reviews and wanted to support a small business, but they showed no gentleness or sense of community. These people don't care about you and their work sucks.

With my part done my fiance went back and looked through the loose diamonds until he found the perfect center stone. They serviced my ring repeatedly over the years. Sizing it up while I was pregnant and back down after my babies were born. They repaired a shank that cracked because I wore my ring to the gym while lifting weights and repaired a prong that I snagged and bent. For our 20th anniversary we had a custom enhancement made that made me fall in love with my ring all over again. I have other pieces from Kessler's as well: earrings, several chains and my favorite cross necklace. I hadn't needed anything in several years, but am now looking for another piece of bling. I showed up at the Brookfield store and was greeted by Ari who was able to read my mind and guide me to the perfect ring for me. She ordered one brought over from another store and has done some incredible logistical coordination setting a loose diamond into a Kessler's setting. There are a few extra costs when the center stone isn't purchased from them (cost to set the stone and an appraisal fee), but that seems logical to me. They are and will continue to be my jeweler!! Vivian greeted me at the door upon my arrival. Vivian had all my information on the ring and led me to the station to show me. She went over the details, the quality, what it meant, showed me a few other stones but when she asked me if I wanted to look at any other style, I knew that was the one. I wasn't planning on purchasing a ring that day, but when you find that one ring that you know is the one, what else is there to do? After the purchase, Craig Husar came up to say hi and to chat. I thought that was really nice that he took the time to come up to congratulate me and to thank me for coming in. Then I came back in with my girlfriend as she wanted to get me sized. I've taken jewelry in on three occasions: first to have new clasps on bracelets and the second two times to have rings resized. On all three occasions I had to call several times AFTER giving them a month, and every time I was told that the person was "very busy." Ok. Who isn't? And no customer wants to hear that. In the end it was two- three months before I got my jewelry back. The last time the job had been finished for a week (after two phone calls and two months) but no one bothered to call me. So three tries, and they are out. I will never use Magpie again - nor would I shop there, as the experience has made me want to find a place that offers better customer service, even if jewelry repair is not their money-maker or interest.
