The store is super full though and has excess junk in the back that is visible. Great customer service. Keith really knows his beads and can make whatever you request. We ultimately purchased four bracelets and some earrings that ended up costing $150. I'd say that was pretty pricey honestly. I mean the beads were nice, but not like some expensive/rare stones. I understand part of the charge is labor, but not sure I'd say it's worth that price. Not to mention, one of the bracelets broke after only wearing it once so we need to return to have it repaired-which is inconvenient since we live in Chicago. So...good place to visit...proceed with caution in terms of your purchase.

I took a mother's ring in to Kelvin Schroeder's to be resized - from a 9 to a 10. In the process of…read moreresizing my ring, one of the birthstones was broken. Initially, the replaced stone extended below the ring sharply poking into my finger, and the holes on the inside of the ring, where the 4 stones were set, were not uniform. I asked that it be repaired so the stone didn't scrape and irritate my finger. I heard more than once from Kelvin it was costing him so much to make the needed repairs (Keep in mind his goldsmith fractured the stone). Kelvin called me and asked if it was important the stones be in the same order as they were when I initially brought the ring in. I replied yes - they were in my children's birth order. When I picked up the ring, Kelvin had me hastily sign a paper releasing them of any further repair obligation. He was condescending and couldn't get me out the door fast enough. Quality of workmanship was poor - ring is not round as it was before. And, the stones are NOT in the correct order. I'm very disappointed. I will take the ring to another jeweler to have it made right. I will NEVER use Kelvin Schroeder Jeweler for any of my jewelry needs again.

She responded to my online request for information on a particular style of ring. I had a specific style and diamond cut that I was looking for. She messaged back with some information and asked if I wanted to come in to discuss and look. I made an appointment, and Vivian followed up prior to my appointment. Vivian greeted me at the door upon my arrival. Vivian had all my information on the ring and led me to the station to show me. She went over the details, the quality, what it meant, showed me a few other stones but when she asked me if I wanted to look at any other style, I knew that was the one. I wasn't planning on purchasing a ring that day, but when you find that one ring that you know is the one, what else is there to do? After the purchase, Craig Husar came up to say hi and to chat. I thought that was really nice that he took the time to come up to congratulate me and to thank me for coming in. Then I came back in with my girlfriend as she wanted to get me sized. Vivian took the hint to not let her know that I've been working with her. She kept it a secret. Afterwards, my girlfriend bought the first ring she saw and expressed how wonderful Vivian was, still not knowing I bought her ring with Vivian's help. Vivian's knowledge, responsiveness, and care set her apart from other experiences I've had at jewelry stores.
