I wanted a tattoo that represented my marriage to my wife since she had said she would marry me when pigs fly well we're approaching our 1st anniversary and since pigs flew I wanted to commemorate it with some ink. I made the appt and met with him and new right away he and powering were the right choice. The art we landed on was the style Chris liked and was great at. I received a tattoo from DJ Lebeau. He did an absolutely incredible job. He gave me exactly what I wanted. The tattoo came out even better than I expected! He is incredible at realism. I was there for a total of 5 hours, but it took about an hour for set up and touching up the design. He only charged me for 4 hours of tattooing which was very kind of him. This is a review of Mike L. It seems due to Multiple Mike's in this tattoo shop it is confusing. I don't feel like I was listened to. And this gear in the posted picture was done by Mike L. It is awful. He freehand it and it is wonky. He also shaded this piston. And over worked my skin. I am not a baby about tattoos, but when an artist keeps shading the same spot over and over it gets overworked. He also doesn't seem to know how to do straight lines and he doesn't do lines in one pass. He charged me $150 per hour to finish my sleeve I had done elsewhere. He was saying how it wasn't done very well and he could have done so much better, but this guy couldn't even pull a straight line or a one pass line. I thought I could trust him, but I feel that he made the piston look worse which isn't something I even asked him to work on. I wanted blank space and unshaded spots worked on and it felt like he was wasting time trying to get paid more. It felt like an armature tattoo artist which I hate saying about anyone, but I was not satisfied. If I knew his work was this quality I would have gone with someone else but the shop recommended him to me and I was under the impression that they had quality artists. I am pissed that I wasted my money. I did pay and leave because as a girl alone with a guy in a tattoo shop I didn't want to argue. It is very akward, but I didn't book another apartment because I don't want him tattooing me ever again. I am sure I can find someone better for cheaper. I have in the past. Don't confuse the Mikes and I wouldn't recommend Mike L. He was a very nice guy, but in my opinion the work he did on me was bad. read more

I was set to get a tattoo by Jay in Oct 2020. in the month leading up to the appointment i contacted him a couple times to check in on the design i asked him to customize for me. It was never ready. The day before the appointment in the afternoon i asked again to see the design as i was getting very nervous and the cost of this tattoo was set over $1,000 for a 4x4 ish color tattoo. he told me it wasnt done. i was panicked and cancled the appointment as i felt uneasy it would be anything like i wanted since i got no information or updates since i set the appoinment. i was forced to forfeit my deposit and im just absolutely disgusted with the customer service. how can people take advantage of others like this? read more

Evan is a superior artist, and currently has a 1 year waiting list. I would definitely recommend getting on the list to have him do your tattoo if you are looking for a high quality piece of art on your body. My experience was with Jay Blackburn and was not as good. I did not end up getting tattooed but my son did, with issues. I brought in 2 pieces that I wanted on my wrists to a scheduled consultation. Jay looked them over, said, "Yep, I can definitely do these" and I paid my 100.00 deposit and scheduled my tattoos. So excited! I showed up on my day, waited about 45 minutes before Jay came out and he said, "Yeah, these's no way I can do one of those tattoos on your wrist. We'll have to do something totally different, change it up, I can reschedule you for another time?". I had taken time out of work to be there, and really wanted to get my tats, and looked up some other designs, and basically what it came down to was that he hadn't looked in detail at my designs, or drawn them up, until the day I showed up to have them done. Feeling uncomfortable with how Jay handled the situation, I debated about seeing another artist, and eventually decided to wait on my tats. I would put my deposit toward my husbands piece, a full shoulder space piece that he had discussed with Evan, and gone over drawings with, looking to get on his waiting list for a cancellation. He and Evan had hit it off, and looked over pictures together, and Evan said he could do his tattoo if he got a cancellation because he was doing space themed pieces right now. Great! I firmed it all up with Kara & Krystal, who are both extremely nice, and we waited. I didn't hear anything, so I double checked. Yep, no problem, we can use your deposit on your husbands piece. OK. A month later and we are going on vacation, I check in to let them know we will be away if Evan gets a cancellation, and we are told your husband was never added to the list for a cancellation spot. Sigh. My son's tattoo was a poetry piece on his forearm. Very even, crisp, neat lines done by Jay, awesome placement, but he double spaced one of the letters in the phrase. So instead of "I'll ever" it says "I 'll ever". My son didn't catch it on the sketch, so bad on him. It was his first tattoo. All in all they have been very cordial and are refunding my deposit, so no harm done, but I do not have faith in the shop in general from the experience I had. read more

I'm in love with my tattoo! Had a large piece started and cannot say enough good about the entire experience- can't wait to get back in the chair! My artist (Larry) was professional, funny and really made sure I was as comfortable as possible for the long session I had. I really feel like I collaborated with him on my peice and came up with an amazing design and layout. And, as anolther reviwer mentions- the TV's in the work rooms are a great addition! The studio had a great vibe to it, with wonderful customer service and all of the artists are just in good moods. This place is amazing. I had a Venom piece done by Mike Ledoux here recently and I can't express how happy I am with it. The place of business was clean, up to date, and easy to find. One of my favorite parts about powerline was that I was in my own room which added a sense of privacy. Nothing more uncomfortable than having to grit through a painful tattoo while someone 5 feet away is watching you. Also I was very specific about what I wanted but Mike was patient and was able to draw up something that vastly exceeded my expectations. I sat for about 7 1/2 hours which wasn't exactly fun but Mike was flexible about taking breaks and proper positioning to make it as comfortable as it could be. I could tell he was a true professional and dedicated to his craft. In the end my tattoo came out better than I could have ever imagined. I now have 7 tattoos and this by far was the best experience I've had with a shop and an artist. I could not recommended Powerline enough. read more

At the risk of this review sounding like complete hyperbole, I have to be honest and say that everything about my experience with PowerLine Tattoo far exceeded my expectations. The front desk staff were kind and helpful in handling my first timid inquiries and pointed me in the right direction. They also maintained high standards of customer service both times that I was in the shop and whenever we spoke over the phone or communicated by email. The facility itself is easy to find, well maintained, and exceptionally clean. For someone like myself who was new to the tattoo experience, the fact that it felt like I was in a doctor's office (with, of course, a bit of a different vibe) put me greatly at ease. Finally, I cannot give the artist I worked with, Mike Ledoux, high enough praise. His work is exceptional, as his portfolio and my new tattoo attest. His manner was warm, professional, and fun. He was patient with my many questions and fears and he is, ultimately, the reason that I decided to make my tattoo idea a reality. I transformed into a person I am proud to be. I asked my friend, Jay Blackburn to design me a rendering of one of my favorite mythological creatures, the Phoenix, the representation of rebirth from fiery destruction. I struggle to give a description of the meticulous and almost obsessive approach Jay takes to his work. He designed and re-designed something for me that when I saw the final product, it wasn't even a question. It was incredible and embodied exactly what I wanted and what I was I feeling. His focus and originality make him one of the best tattoo artists in New England. His work speaks for itself. Amazing artists here in my own neighborhood. I have been tattooed by both Mike and Evan. All of the work I have received there (part of my half sleeve from Mike, a piece on my hip and a large piece on my non-sleeved arm) receive constant compliments. In fact, I carry a stack of business cards for the studio to direct people there. Very talented artists + very reasonable prices + a friendly, clean atmosphere = happy, satisfied clients who return whenever they need more ink. I did tons of research on the shop and artists. Anywhere and everywhere there was something available I looked at it. Reviews, awards, various competitions , publications , competing shops / artists, consumer sites (BBB) and yes health department too. This shop and their artists have an impeccable reputation. So I drop in and talk with Krystal, give her some of my ideas, she recommends a few of their artists and I flip through the portfolios and go with Jay Blackburn as his style matches what I'm looking for. I have basic ideas but nothing firm. I schedule an appointment with Jay. During the appointment I'm pretty firm on the first tattoo but still unsure of a viable option for the second. No pressure at all, Jay gives me some starting points and his contact info. Over the next several days we exchange ideas via email until I'm comfortable with what I want for both tattoos . We set the appointment. On the day of the appointment I meet with Jay who has a few designs drawn out that are my ideas but 10 times better. Needless to say, both tattoos came out far better then I had envisioned when I started out and Jay is an outstanding artist and lives up to his reputation including the "word on the street". The shop as a whole is a great place, clean modern equipment with great people who appear to all get along. Not sure when but this will be where my next tattoo is done.
