But once the summer visitors roll in, it fills quickly and people park along the highway, and up into the neighborhoods. Locals are okay with that for the most part, but cut them a break and don't block driveways, block off the road, etc. You know what I mean! Nice access to the lake and a nice area for swimming. Lots of trees, so lots of places to picnic. Restrooms are available. And there's a sand-court volleyball setup. Refreshments are just a block away, so no concerns about not having enough water. Operated and maintained by Chelan County PUD, which does an excellent job keeping the park looking good.

We learned that the main loop trail there is about 1.9 miles round-trip. As you cross the bridge onto the island, trails crisscross through a peaceful, natural area with interpretive signs, and you get to hear birds calling and see fish jumping in the water. Fun fact: Blackbird Island was formed from silt left by the old Lamb-Davis Lumber Mill, making it part of the reclaimed land that now hosts this lovely park. It's a great place to stretch your legs, get fresh air, enjoy nature, and just take in the views. I highly recommend stopping here if you're in Leavenworth!

We were all taking the boat to Stehekin the next day and Donna made sure we had coffee and pastries before we left for the day and also picnic lunches to take on the boat. The rooms were clean and in excellent condition - we even had a couple of outdoor areas where our group could gathered in the evening and socialize. We all had an excellent time while in Chelan and the Riverwalk Park Inn was a big part of it.

Of all the public lakefront recreational areas around Chelan, Don Morse Memorial Park is always our…read morego-to place whenever we're in town. Parking will run you $10 (2 hours) or $15 (6 hours). There is also a 24-hr rate, but I can't recall what it is. For the best parking access, utilize the lot adjacent to the Lakeshore RV Park (TIP: If there's a line at the parking lot pay station, or it's out-of-order, you can pay for parking at the Lakeshore RV Park Front Gate). The parking lot can easily fill up by 11 AM or noon on weekends and spring/summer holidays, so keep this in mind when considering the day of the week you'll be visiting and when you plan to arrive. The park's grounds include a skate park, sand volleyball pits, basketball courts, playground, concession stand, grassy areas, restrooms, some tree-shaded spots, picnic tables, good-sized beach and roped-off swimming area. There's also a boat launch and marina (where it's possible to fish). A go-kart track and miniature golf course are situated in-between the marina (south) parking lot and the RV (north) parking lot, but these are privately run businesses. The only negative of Don Morse Memorial Park is the hourly rate (and maybe the capacity) of the parking lot. Despite this, I still think this park deserves a 5-star review--it's just too good in terms of the layout and amenities it offers.

Large beach area and lots of parking. Plus sand volleyball courts. Super fun day with our friends and family. We enjoy it here and can walk to town. We visited Enchantment Park during Thanksgiving week, just one day after a beautiful snowfall, and it truly felt like stepping into a winter postcard. We parked in the main lot where there are clean restrooms, a playground, a skateboard park, and even a designated sledding hill -- perfect for families and outdoor lovers alike. Everything was easy to access and well maintained. From there, we hiked the 2 mile scenic trail that winds along the banks of the Wenatchee River. The snow-dusted trees and river views were absolutely breathtaking. We crossed over to Blackbird Island, which is a fantastic spot for photos -- especially with fresh snow on the ground. The walking paths connecting from Commercial Street make the park incredibly convenient to access right from downtown. It was an exhilarating, refreshing, and healthy hike -- the perfect way to spend a crisp late-November day.

We did the complete loop however coming down was extremely steep and unsafe at some areas due to slides. Not ideal for kids due to very steep trail trails and unsecure ground. We also noticed several ticks along the way. Keep your eyes out for marmots too. Enter through the cute garden gate just past the restrooms. Be sure you already have a WA State Discovery Pass since there's no pay machine.

What Peshastin Pinnacles State Park lacks in total hiking trail length it makes up in vertical gain…read moreardor. Views from the top of the pinnacles on a clear sunny day are absolutely stunning and the climb adds a bit of physical satisfaction in working up a slight sweat to reach the vista points. A helicopter pad is located closer to the parking lot/entrance, guessing in part in case of an emergency be it a snake bite, rock climber fall, or hiker tumble. It is a great place for a short, difficult hike. However, ropes and other rock climbing supplies strewn across the trail can detract from the overall experience. During the summer of 2021 the park was closed due to extreme fire risk. Fortunately this was communicated both on the website and at the driving entrance.
