I have never seen anyone cleaning the area, wipes are many times empty, and AstroTurf area is so dirty it feels greasy. Managers are arrogant and incompetent, many issue unfixed for over a year. The employees at this Defined are a little intimidating at first- but some of the funniest most genuine people once that ice has been broken. This gym seems to be most popular with people just before they head to work, or when they get off. I will admit to coming straight from work and working off the day. All the trainers are more than willing to give you pointers on how to do something properly- but they too are human, and some are more shy than others. They also offer a free "jump start" where you meet with the head trainer and figure out what you want out of your gym experience and how they can help you reach your goals! If you need a gym, they do good here, at a reasonable price. The yoga, spin, pump, combat les mills class are part of your membership as is the pool, sauna and steam room. Unfortunately, even though they address it in their sign up and rules- there will always be those people that bathe in their perfume or cologne prior to hitting the floor and the rest of us suffer. I find it less of an issue at this location though due to the high number of professionals that use the gym- not just gym rats. Oh yeah! And for those of you with Kids- no excuse not to get in to the gym! They have child care also built into your membership.

You must first register your CAC (registration hours are between 0800-1300, I believe) if you decide to use the gym 24/7, as it is open. It's very small, in comparison to the east side gym, but also less utilized. There are 2 weight rooms, a large cardio room (treadmills, elliptical, stair-step, recumbent bikes), and a 'Nautilis' room with variety machines. If you typically do floor exercises such as crunches or planks, good luck, because there's only 2 yoga mats upstairs in a tiny little area. The heat in there can become overbearing, as there are only several fans that re-circulate hot air around the main rooms, and no A/C for cooling. Also, if you're on the elliptical machines, the fan is right above you, so you will not be feeling anything. Though the building itself is pretty darn old, all of the equipment inside seem relatively new, compared to the last Planet Fitness I visited. Let's also not forget that this gym is free to all government employees, military, or anyone with a CAC (contractors too, I think), so it's not too shabby.

I can move from one thing to the other very quickly which allows for shorter but more intense work out sessions, especially because I use the "superset" style of working out. I was frustrated at first because there didn't seem to be a place for ab work or stretching but I discovered that in the basketball gym area, they have plenty of room and mats to do whatever you need to do to allow for a complete work out.

It was a true old school gym with Olympic brand free weights and Ohio bars. It's been a little over 30 yrs since I was a gym rat but that was the good stuff back then. He was impressed. The gym gave him a visitor pass since we were in town for an archery tournament. He loved it. Even wanted a shirt which they are going to send him one in his size. They have a good cardio equipment and a great juice bar as well. Everyone there feels like a family and everyone is a lot of fun. I have also been to a couple of the weekend events they hold like their yoga and HIIT Classes in the park, as well as a hiking trip. Such a fun gym and a great place to be. Antonio the owner is the friendliest guy and all of their classes kicked my butt and help me alot in my fitness journey. The gym is super clean and has lots of variety of equipment for every fitness level. I did not go to any of the classes, so I cannot speak on those, but the one thing I would have liked to seen in the women's locker room would have been a couple wall-mounted hairdryers, and some shelving in the showers so that you don't have to put your soap bottles on the floor. Otherwise, everything has been great and the only reason why I am canceling my membership is because my husband is a travel nurse and we are moving out of state again. Definitely recommend this Chuze!
