You don't come here to walk around the mall and then go in interesting stores that catch your eye. The halls are just that, a hall leading to the few stores mentioned above and random kiosks that you wonder how they stay in business or keep employees. No one shops there. The best store in the mall is the DMV, which I've written a review about. It's modern, large, clean, and is staffed with people that actually move quickly! I live in SW but drive here whenever I need a DMV visit. To me, Mall 205 references an area that houses Home Depot, BB&B and Target. I go to those stores as a destination; I don't go to the mall.

I finally called the HR department so I could talk to an actual person that might be able to help me. I was looking for an item that online staTed there were 3 available in this store. I know better, before driving there I want to have a person actually check. Well of course they didn't have any, not even 1 let alone 3. This is supposed to be a remodeled store, yet they never have advertised products or anything on the shelves in general. Avoid this location at all costs. You will leave this store frustrated and without the items you came for.

While this shopping plaza lacks an anchor store like Target and a slew of typical strip mall stores like Old Navy, Petco, TJ Maxx or Marshall's, it does have a really nice, well stocked Ross, a large Joann Fabrics & Crafts, and on the opposite end, a Walmart Supercenter and Dollar Tree. Sprinkled in between and in the parking lot is an LA Fitness, and a US Airforec, Navy, Army and Marine Enlistment office. There are several restaurants, too. For fast food there is Jack in the Box, Izzy's Pizza, Subway, Starbucks and Happy Terriyaki. There may still be a Wings place. On the end by Walmart is H.K. Cafe, the best dumplings and dim sum in Portland, no question. Strangely, this plaza is home to lots of financial posts and services: US Bank, Bank of America, H&R Block, Post Office, Providence Medical, and dental, insurance and chiropractic offices. In the back is a Cinemax Theatre, a relic representing the pre-Covid life that many of us miss. Never thought going to a movie theatre would no longer be an option. It's a mediocre shopping center as illustrated by the stores. It's a place I go for a particular purpose, like I need some new bathroom towels at Ross or I need jewelry supplies at Joann's. It's not a place you drive by and feel like you hit the jackpot with several great stores all in one location. However if you keep driving on SE 82nd, you will come across several other strip malls and stores so you can check off lots of errands in one general area.

There is a Walmart, a movie theater, a few banks, some crappy restaurants, and lots of space. Essentially a picture of suburbia without much of any downtown flair. I tend to come here for the ATMs at the banks and maybe an occasional visit to Walmart. There is also a Chinese buffet and an overpriced Radio Shack here as well, I suppose this place is as good as any for the potentially bored and broke teenagers.

I was pleasantly surprised there wasn't that horrible off-gassing smell at similar type places. However, they did have some kind of odd blinky holiday lights that made annoying noises throughout my visit. I toured each aisle and there wasn't anything to my liking but I can see where a new Asian restaurant could completing outfit their establishment with everything they need. It was nice to see they had real plants! I would consider returning for those or maybe some of their pots. Prices were okay, not great. According to many handmade signs, they take shoplifting seriously!

I wanted to see if there is a Kmart near the area so I did a Yelp search for Kmart, this Portland Closeout store popped up. After glancing at Yelp photos, the 20 % off Yelp check in caught my eye, and the funny t-shirts, the ones on their profile pic. I asked my personal Uber driver ( my other half) to take me. You will not miss this place, there is a huge business sign and parking is available on both sides of the lot. I don't know where to begin looking, the store is clutter but it is a good clutter. There are tons and tons of stuff. Its like a one stop shop, Things you need in Chinatown and the flea market combined together. I am pretty sure you will find something you don't need but actually need here. Just like my experience here. I had fun looking around, Lets see this shop is HUGE! There are sandals, shoes, clothing for mens, womens, children, tshirts, hats, make up, hair accessories, phone accessories, even blankets. If you can't find what you are looking for, ask the owner, she is super friendly. I recall her name is Long. I had fun talking to her and she helped me find what I was looking for. As I mentioned I found 2 items that I didn't need but needed. I saw 2 hats , I didn't think I needed it but bought it for my mom and good friend. ( they both love hats!) I came to shop not looking for hats and not needing it but then I am so glad I bought them because my mom and good friend loved the hats. I also bought those funny saying shirts to give away as souvenirs. They are pretty funny! I was able to use my 20 percent Yelp check in and I am so happy to discover a new place in Portland. I noticed the blankets are cheap, they are the really soft blankets which comes in different color, prints, and even comes with a bag. I remember those blankets, during my childhood days my mom used to buy that blanket for us and I remember they cost more than what Portland Closeout sells them for. I am going to buy a blanket next time I visit. After paying for my items, Long mentioned that her husband is at the store across. Note: Portland Closeout is in 2 separate shop. The store is in front where Long's husband manage has all household items for your kitchen, home and garden which includes furniture, plants, even paintings. This store does look clutter as well, but its a good clutter!! I noticed children's bicycles out in front. This store has EVERYTHING!! Overall, I love how I discovered this place and I enjoyed my shopping experience here. I will be back. If you just moved to Portland, Please check out Portland Closeout, I guarantee you will find products for your new place and you can thank me later!! #101/100/2017
