purchased a bike from Lexi Minion and was given a promise and noted in the contract that we were to be given a new seat as the one on the bike was broken and was asked to come back the next day to pick it up...she ran and hid when I walked in the building and I was approached by a man in an egressive manne. I was promised to get my hand grips back from the bike I traded in and when I got them they were broken and they were well over 200 and was told that they would not replace them. This is the worst experience I have ever had at a dealership next to High Stakes. I definitely do NOT recommend doing business as they are shady!!!! read more

I have been coming to Powder Keg for many years and bought 4-5 bikes from them. The dealership is not the same. Went in to discuss purchasing a 2025 Road King--salesman said they are trying to "give them away." Asked for numbers with my trade in. What a joke. They were offering $12,500 for my 2021 StreetGlide Special Artic Blast paint--1 of 500 made. It has low mileage, ape handle bars and slip ons with tuner that they put on the bike when I bought it. I could sell outright for $22000+. They offered no discount to the MSRP for a bike that is new, yet a year old. They have six and clearly are not giving them away. When asked, she indicated that they could possibly give me a $1500 card for the additional $3000+ things I would want to add to the Road King with no discount on the price they list on the internet. I hope that the 2021 has not really lost that much value. If so, I am concerned about the other two Harleys I have. I was loyal to this dealer and their service department, but time to look elsewhere. read more

Powder keg has been nothing short of a nightmare, 2 weeks they have had my bike and just now have ordered parts, blamed rain, short staffing you name it, I received no phone calls as to an update of what's going on with the bike or lack there of. I finally called today and put up a stink was told by service manager that they where getting ready to order parts and bike was at least another week out from being done as they took it off the lift to work on other customers bikes after all these phone calls I asked Ken in service for the Harley corporate number he told me to get it myself and hung up on me now they aren't answering my calls, corporate was no help nor could I get ahold of the store manager as he was miraculously in meetings every time I called this place is a nightmare and nobody should use them!!!!!! We could not remove the oil filter from our Heritage Springer while performing a fluids and filter change. I called Tim to explain the situation. Tim asked if I could stop up and let them have a look --- 45-minutes later the old filter was off, the new one installed, with all fluids topped off --- Talk about FANTASTIC SERVICE!!! Powder Keg Harley-Davidson is an unscrupulous dealership, in my opinion. I'd not do business with them. I saw a bike for sale on their website, so I called to confirm that it was in stock and still for sale. The price seemed reasonable. The salesman told me they had the bike for sale for almost six months. He further said the price had been reduced due to the bike not selling. Further, they have a systematic method for mandatory price reductions for aging inventory. He verified the price, and I said I wanted to purchase the bike. He asked if I was interested in financing, and I told him I would finance part of the purchase price. He told me I would need to complete a credit application online. They sent me a link. I finished the application and was approved for the loan. Then the salesman said I needed to speak to the sales manager and transferred me to the sales manager. The sales manager said he needed to go. over the final details. He said there were some additional mark-ups regarding the price. They totaled appropriately an extra $3000. I told him that I was not interested in the additional mark-up items and wanted to buy the bike for the advertised price they had and still have listed on their website. It was Saturday and he said that he would have to talk to the general sales manager regarding honoring the advertised price and get back with me on Tuesday since they would be closed on Monday. When Tuesday morning rolled around, the salesman called me back and said they were unwilling to take the price advertised on their website. He further stated that the price would be the price they have on their website plus an additional approximately $ 3000.00. Who does that? It seems like some form of bait and switch to me. This Harley Davidson dealership is not above board when it comes to honesty. I will send a letter to the appropriate governing agencies regarding this misrepresentation, as I have the support documents to back up my claims. Powder Keg Harley Davidson, do better. If they misrepresent their prices on purchases, I'm confident they would also misrepresent other things. It's been almost a week, and the bike is still listed for sale on their website without the appropriate $3000.00 dealer mark-up. read more

The buying experience was on on par with expectations. Adam did a good job of taking my feedback and putting me in the right bike for me. Now after I made the commit to buy there was a lot of smoke and mirrors when it came to the purchase contract. felt very forced to pick up the additional service contract, warranty and theft coverages. Those items added roughy $3000 to the bill of sale or $60+ a month to my financing. They also had a $1500 of free accessories for the model I purchased they kept hidden and made it look like the small amount of accessories I wanted was "thrown in" to close a deal. Additionally I ordered parts to be installed prior to pickup. Was told they needed a well to get those in stock and put on. long story short I picked up the bike a week later and my parts had not even arrived..... once they arrived I had to wait a week to get installed due to service dept being booked out. So much for that VIP program I purchased to jump the line in service. Great selection of bikes, informed sales reps that listen, BUT once ya commit to purchase the poop hits the fan. With as much business as this place does you would figure they would focus on better post sale service to keep retention rates high. I live across the street from this place, BUT the next bike I buy will be from Queen City another close dealer. read more

I came to Powderkeg on my birthday to pick out a bike. Salesman put me on a bike that I liked that just so happened to have been born the same year as me. The price on the bike was $7996. Dealership refused to negotiate because they "practically rebuilt the bike" so I'm thinking whatever. At least I shouldn't have any trouble out of it for a while. Final price ended up being $10,300. I paid 2k down. No where anywhere on the paperwork is my down payment reflected. Called hd financial services and the payoff amount is showing $10,300 as well. No idea why my down payment hasn't been reflected in the final price of the motorcycle. The circus doesn't stop there though. I had them deliver the bike since I lived roughly 2.5 hours away. They tell me the delivery cost is gonna be $250 and I say fine. They'll roll it into the final price of the bike. The bike arrives on time, however they forgot the keys and also, it's got a dead battery. They try telling me the "vibration from being transported" is what killed the battery. What a load of crap. Bike spends the whole first day on a battery charger charging. Fire it up. Surprise! Now it won't even idle without the enrichener being on. I tried letting it warm up as per the manuals recommendations. Didnt work still won't idle without the enrichener. So I tried riding it to see if that would warm it up. Still nothing. In fact, the thing is a death trap and died twice on me in traffic whenever the RPMs would fall below a certain mark. Still won't idle without the enrichener. Now this thing has a pretty major gas leak around the accelerator pump on the carburetor. Like, bike in danger of catching on fire kinda gas leak. I call HD and try to let them know the troubles I'm having. Salesman that sold me the bike quit. After multiple phone calls stretched out across a week I get in touch with a sales manager. First they try to blame me for not knowing how to start and warm up an older bike. I tell them all I've ridden up to this point are carbureted bikes, some way older than this one. Then they have the audacity to tell me they don't know anything about it being delivered with a dead battery. I tell them they need to come and get the bike and make it right and the guy says "well we only have 1 truck and we aren't going to drive 2.5 hours just for a '96 model. You're going to have to bring it in." I ask him how he expects me to bring it in without it being in running condition and he says "well you just told me you were riding it." Oh? I guess you missed the part where I told you it dies under 25 mph and leaks gas like a sieve. The sales manager says he's going to talk to the owner and find out a solution for me. I'm thinking finally, they're going to make It right. The solution I got was Harley Davidson will fix the bike for free but the transportation is on me. Right. A U haul would cost me more than fixing the stupid thing myself or taking it to a local shop. The best part though is when I'm on the phone with this guy telling him the carburetor has issues and he starts going through the list of everything that was done to the bike... Apparently "practically rebuilt the bike" means "we put some chrome covers on it, did the brakes and an oil change and sent it." Because he gets to the end and goes "well we didn't even touch the carburetor or the battery" well well well... You mean the two things I'm having issues with are two things you never looked at to begin with? Guy tells me "unless it's causing immediate problems we don't even look at it." It's been two weeks since I bought my bike. Battery has died again. Still don't have the keys. Still don't know where my down payment went. I would give negative stars to this place if I could. Went in to test ride a Fat Bob listed for $12,999, and before I could kick a leg over it, I was told we had to negotiate purchase price. It was explained to me that process is how it's done there and they want a committed buyer before they even do a test ride. In the end, I never got to ride the bike because I didn't want to accept that there is a mandatory $1k charge FOR ALL USED bikes for "setup" (routine checks and proper maintenance to sell the bike used). In my opinion, this should have been included in the listing price, which I was happy to pay. So, I walked. Now they won't stop calling and they've removed the price from the listing. Wife called them and asked about the the same bike and was quoted $18,999! A $6,000 increase in a week! Went to a different dealer and test rode the same model with only a driver's license and conversation within 20 mins of showing up. Even though they have the bike I want, this way of doing business is not one I'm comfortable with. Pros: they have an amazing selection, bar none. Some of the prices *seem* extremely good, but as I found out, they could change for no reason at any time. read more

While riding through Cincinnati, I hit something in the road which damaged both rims on my Road Glide. I was really disappointed that Powderkeg couldn't get my bike back on the road. I was told they would have to order rims. They gave me the option of shipping my bike to me once the parts arrive but it would probably be 2 months before I get it back. I bought a Harley because of the stellar reputation that their dealers have for taking care of riders (especially those who are far from home). I did not get that feeling from this dealer. I rented a U Haul truck and took my bike to my local dealer. They said I will be back on the road in a week. read more

My husband and I have been to this dealership 2 times now. The first time was a complete disaster and we left and purchased 2 bikes from a far superior Harley dealership. We want to upgrade a bike and Powder Keg had one we were HIGHLY interested in but JUST WANTED TO LOOK. After much consideration we tried this dealership again. We politely told the first vulture that approached us that we were JUST LOOKING today. We could not even walk around the sales floor without being pitched a sales line of some kind. After another attempt to look at the bike we came to see, we were approached by 2 more in a tag team effort. At that point we left. When a customer tells you they are just looking I DO NOR WANT OR NEED a trained speech from the puppets clothes in H-D gear. So been going here for years. Upgraded one bike here and bought another dresser here. Bought Jackets, helmets(today my goal was to buy a new one, $225), and much more. In February I bought a $60 pair of gloves to use with my touch stuff. I have not gotten out on the bike to use this but once and realized they don't do what the said the would do. Wanted to bring these back and find a replacement. None of the ones in the store do touch that are marked at lease moron my iPhone. The managers said so sorry too bad they were brought in February. They look and feel brand new but sorry about my luck. So, I did it but the helmet or a replacement pair of gloves. When telling them I would go elsewhere they basically waved. as a first time bike owner, I thought my experience would be amazing, turns out the experience isn't what I thought. again as someone else stated. I was supposed to get $1,500 credit towards a purchase of accessories in store. I bought a brand new bike spend over $32,000. they assured me the bike was inspected with nothing wrong. pressured me into buying the one I bought. now with riding season coming to and end. they said they would have my bike 1 week for inspection/ oil change. here it is 2 weeks later and I'm told there is issues with a bike I bought a few months back and rode maybe 10 times max. I'm paying for a bike I can't even ride at the moment with riding season coming to an end. beware from buying from this company! take your time, money and effort elsewhere. how can you say a bikes been inspected then turn around and say there's issues! it's supposed to be under warranty as the other person stated. Was given a trade in price on my bike (after they looked at photos, Vin number, odometer)and a price on a bike I wanted to buy, "guaranteed". Rode 1.5 hrs in the rain to make the deal. Once I got there the sales rep and the management team acted as if the conversation never happened. They wanted more than double what we agreed to on the phone. Went through three sales managers to try to work it out. All three were rude and not willing to listen or help. The sales rep who made the deal over the phone with me blamed his management team every time they walked away for "the confusion on the math". Complete and utter waste of time. I brought a perfectly running Electra Glide in for $425 10,000 mile service. Bike returned ticking and now a whining sound, clutch slipping and and it was returned 1 1/2 quarts low on oil. This is only the second Harley Davidson store I've ever been too, but I was very impressed. The space is clean and well stocked. The staff was wonderful, very attentive, and friendly. As a non-biker I am primarily here with my dad or purchasing a gift for him. They have always taken time to educate me and help me pick the perfect item. What really pushes this place to five star territory is their community involvement. They sponsor and help many local charities host and organize events. In the summer it seems like there is always a charity ride or parking lot festival benefiting a different local charity. In the summer, on the weekends this is the place to be for some good food, good music, and nice community vibe. read more

Don't do business with Powderkeg Harley. I bought a tri-glide from them about six months ago and am very sorry that I did. I went to look at tri-glides and decided to take a test ride. I was presented with about a hour or hour and a half worth of paperwork before that ride happened. I did not realize that they were setting me up for the sale before I even did the test ride. I should have walked out at that point, and at several other points along the way. I am old enough to know what they were doing. As the paperwork evolved, my salesman was joined by three other salesman and all four worked on me. I got my test ride and did like the bike. The four salesman thinned gradually and I was left with one, a different one than I started with. This one was Bill Russo. Please avoid him under all circumstances. He promised that he and the dealership would be "happy to help" if I needed anything. I decided to buy the bike and we started working on more paperwork, several hours of it. Later, I realized that I should have been paying more attention to the paperwork, and less to Bill. The things he offered and said were not the same once the language made it to the paperwork. The bike was $42,00, and the extra warranties were going to be thrown in free. That was my understanding. It actually turned out that the bike was $47,000 and the "free" warranties totaled $12,000. I should have walked out, but I was mesmerized by the whole show. I bought the bike and used it for about six months. During that time, I called quite a few times for help and answers to questions. Even during business hours, there was never anyone to help. Then I found out that my health was failing and I would probably not be able to ride by the time next spring got here. I decided to sell it. It was then that I realized the money issue. I spent $20,000 in the six months that I owned it, and from the warranties, got one service that I think is about $800. So I owe $41,500 on the bike, and it is only worth about $36,000. Eastgate Harley was selling new ones like mine for $39,000. I went to Powderkey and hoped that they "would be happy to help" as Bill mentioned about 30 times during the sale. They did not want the bike at any price and refused to refund any of their warranties. (The fine print says that you don't get your money back.) I will get some of the $2000 from one warranty because it was a Harley warranty and not a dealer warranty. Eastgate Harley helped me out by buying my bike. I still ended up in the hole, but they did work with me. I also talked a little to CinCity Harley. I would recommend either of them before you try Powderkeg. Buying a Honda would be preferable to going to Powderkeg read more

Watch out for the extended warranty scam, they start it the day you buy the bike that way you lose 2 years. The service plan is a joke also, only good at powder keg and it's non transferable. They are not connected to the other dealerships so if you go somewhere else they can't find anything out about your bike. Completely shady dealership! read more
